My country is currently experiencing the peak of the second wave of the pandemic, which is expected to end this June. The economy, which had started to improve before, had to face bigger problems this time. And if the pandemic is bigger, of course, we will experience an economic setback for some time to come

yes. because nowadays, food is the most essential this time of pandemic. before, people spend most of their money on things that they dont need much, they spend their money on luxury. but now, we only need food to survive. food prices doubled this year because food is on high demand. people stay on their homes that is why we have much needed food to consume. agricultural products are also high because of the high demand of rice and other products.

Large-scale entertainment activities have also been closed this year because of the pandemic incident and as you say, when people's money has no space to spend and the predicament comes closer every day, food and water are indispensable products, with such a level of demand, inflation and double the price, even more is normal. The government is also looking for a plan to change such sensitive issues but their time is relatively busy to race on medical issues, we need to be more patient and look for other methods to buy more food cheaply.

When i have time i go to local market to check prices

Vegetable prices doubled
Fruit prices doubled
Meat prices around 30% increase
Grain products around 20% increase
...

And my country  is a exporter of food products

  Yes, doubled prices is a serious problem that need to be addressed .The people within community mostly suffered by their basic daily needs that they can not afford to buy their basic needs and wants. Specially the rice the price is consistent increasing and wet food also some people tend to eat without vian and others vian a salt. It's really complicated of high demand price.

Price have doubled this year because of this pandemic actually many countries are suffering the failing of the economy. The impact of this pandemic is really huge it hits all people. Also, the livelihood becomes affected and even the farmers has limited to supply that cause of shortage of goods.  And we also know there is still quarantine so the jobs and business are still limited to open.

If you get them to eat less or few times a day they could consider that as starvation, depending on what they get feed by the Media about foods
From my experience, the body heals better and quicker when you fast or eat little while you feast on good/healthy oil, good contents, organic fruits/vegs, herbs/tea etc.    6am-12pm should be ok for people who are too scared of *starving* . 
I believe we are supposed to eat light healthy foods . If people eat moderately always, they will get used to it. It's  not really about losing weight...it will help you become more active and your life will feel better

People are already struggling because of the restrictions then the problem comes again with the double price of food. I don't know why the government doesn't control prices during a pandemic, they should be able to control it and give strict punishment to rogue sellers. If the government can't handle it, at least provide assistance in the form of basic materials or cash.

of course not to the point that they will starve them selves . if they ate 3 to 4 times a day ,
they can reduced that into 2 to 3 that should be enough because in our society now there are lots of obese people than the underweight and that is unhealthy and could cause serious health problems . changing their food choice from processed and artificial to healthy fresh foods is also good for the body and it cost lesser because we can plant it on our own .

I don't know which country you are residing in. But here in India, the food prices actually went down after the pandemic started. Food production was not impacted directly by the pandemic, but there was issues in transporting the produce from one region to another. And in urban areas, there was large scale hoarding of essential items, but the government soon swung in to action and arrested those who were attempting to do this. And a lot of people have lost their jobs, and therefore they can't afford food products even if they are at the same price as earlier.

What we need is just a proper storage and distribution of the food and I think that the price doubling could easily be whittled down by time. I mean we have tons of food waste every year and not just any food waste but edible food waste, now if we were to distribute left overs instead of throwing them away, we might solve two birds with one stone which hunger and the food prices doubling.

And since the food items have limited shelf-life, it is not always possible to recycle the leftover food to animal feed or biofuel. Collection of leftover food can also be a challenge, as a lot of people just dump it in municipal waste dumps. Very few people separate food waste from other waste such as plastic and broken glass.

Lucky you that there's no surge in price after this pandemic, from where am I, the price rose up since lots of businesses are closed,
the supply and demands of foods from different regions are affected  especially those basic needs.

I'm not sure if this cause by those business owners who managed to facilitate even  there's restrictions from some point, they might  implementing over prices due to the fact that people don't have other options,

Government are trying to help but even so this kind of adjustments are being felt, budgeting is really hard.

In fact, the food situation is much more complicated than most people imagine. The number of people on our planet is increasing dramatically, natural resources cannot cope with the growing demands for its required volumes. There is a growing opinion that the problem of coronavirus is artificial, and through vaccination, over time and forced, the bulk of people are injected with drugs that destroy the immune system and in a few years such vaccination will lead to mass extinction of people. Thus, the problem with food will be solved - by a sharp decrease in the population.
Coronavirus in itself is not a terrible disease; measures to combat it have more serious consequences. States are so methodical and every minute we are constantly reminded of the problem of coronavirus that we involuntarily wonder if all this is intentional.

You can take out awareness campaigns, but apart from that there is not much to do in this subject. It is entirely up to the individuals to decide how much of the food products they want to consume. If they want to throw away a part of it, then we can't oppose. Because they have purchased those food items and it is their discretion on how to use them. The governments can't coerce people on what they eat inside their homes. For offices and hostels, it may be possible to introduce new laws, to penalize people who waste food. But no such thing can be done against food wastage inside individual homes.

The reason for the doubling of food prices is largely due to the negligence of law enforcement agencies on the other hand failure of laws food prices lack of information education and cultural influences are equally responsible for adulteration of food if the law is followed properly people will not be able to increase the price of food so much. People need to be aware of law enforcement food prices will not double if opposed.
