Just joined the Binance card owners club  Grin

A big fat middle finger for the post worker that jammed the envelope in the mailbox, I just can't figure out how he managed to almost rip off all for corners, but the card is safe. One big like for the perl black color, I can already imagine some weird looks from the cashiers just like with the mint color from the competitors  Wink

One interesting thing, they shipped the card although I have zero funds on Binance and never had one penny with them.

Based on what I've read till now the safe procedure posted by Neuroticfish is a bit of a pain in the ass since I don't plan to use the virtual card nor to use the ATM for a withdrawal so I will just load my account, I will make the sacrilege of converting a few satoshis in BNB besides Euros and try to spend just from the Euro balance as I don't want any funny conversions as bakasabo stumbled upon, I wouldn't cry over 1-2 euros but I hate when I lose money over glitches.

One thing I'm curious about, how was the cashback credited for you guys? Euros, BNB, BUSD?
Not that I will make a fortune out of it but I'm a bit curious on what to look for after my first purchases!

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

One interesting thing, they shipped the card although I have zero funds on Binance and never had one penny with them.

If you've ordered when they had the starting advertising, you may have it for free. From my checks I think that I didn't have to pay for my card either.

In the second you click on Binance site that you've received the card, the virtual one will go pooof, and iirc you need that operation in order to get the PIN for the physical one.
For the record, a couple of days ago my first coin was BNB, I made a payment, BNB and then some EUR have been used there without any issues.

One thing I'm curious about, how was the cashback credited for you guys? Euros, BNB, BUSD?
Not that I will make a fortune out of it but I'm a bit curious on what to look for after my first purchases!

It will be in BNB. And it's a nice addition since it usually* covers the -0.9% 3rd party processing fee (that you'll have after the first week of use)

* I think you don't get cashback for ATM withdrawal.

Welcome! Cheesy

I honestly had no issues whatsoever with Binance card for now. I've tried buying stuff online, using it at the supermarket and just the other day I used it for the first time to take some money out of the ATM and it worked like a charm. This ATM thing was the best part, as it turns out that it is the cheapest way I know to cash out. All I had to pay was 2.5 euro fee at the ATM and that's about it. Afaik, daily limit is 290 euro so it may take a while if you are cashing out bigger amount of money, but  for sure beats BTC ATM (that was my standard way of cashing out ) and its ~6% fee.

All in all, I am very satisfied and it became my go-to card for daily use.

* I think you don't get cashback for ATM withdrawal.
Yeah that would be a bit too much I think, to expect cashback on ATM withdrawals.

Wait a moment, are you living inside the EU zone? I know you post on the Croatian board so assuming that, didn't you have to pay some extra conversion fees? I'm getting a bit of conflicting feedback on this card  Grin

I don't plan on cashing out via ATM while at home but more when I'm traveling to all those countries outside Europe where I would avoid sticking a credit card in some shady ATM in the middle of nowhere like some resort in Egypt where my card got skimmed and I have sworn on not doing this again.

Back to the actual usage, I went in with no preparation, no ritual, no nothing as it was Friday afternoon and I simply had no desire to follow any rules. Activated the card, exchanged and put 100 on the balance, set euro first, started buying 5-10 euros worth of junk food from all the neighboring shops, 7 purchases nothing wrong with the transactions no errors about an invalid card, not enough funds, no nothing, works as it was supposed to work.
Still wondering about testing it with GooglePay but I don't see any reason for it at the moment.

PS
I was sure about the looks of the cashiers, I caught at least one looking intensely at that all black card  Grin

You are right, Croatia is not in the Euro zone yet ( we are in EU though) but I am currently visiting one Eurozone country and that's where I tried using ATM for the first time. But from what I heard about conversion rate from some people that tried using card with ATM in Croatia, exchange rate was pretty good so it seems like Binance is not trying to rip off people so I will continue to do that (if needed) when i get back to Croatia.

Glad to hear everything working perfectly, it was same for me. No preparation, no procedures, I literally started using card half an hour after i got it and since then no issues whatsoever. I don't see why it shouldn't work with Google Play too.

True. You dont get cashback for ATM withdrawals.

About the fees - when I got my card, 3rd party did not charge me any fee (for atm and terminal usage) for the first week. Later they have started to charge for atm and terminal, but since March 9, they has stopped to charge fees again (receive BNB cashback since first usage)...

Black card did not impress cashiers at my place. Doubt that they are so cool and familiar with American Express black. But, if you get a crypto.com card which level is any above basic, your card will be made out of metal. That might impress cashiers, yet again - a little bit Smiley

So, the first semi-negative vibe from Binance

Decided to use it to pay for some stuff on my way to work, entered my card, and got an email "Auto Top-up is completed".
Seems like Binance wasn't happy I had only ~3euros on my card and 200 in the wallet and as soon as the balance dropped below that decided to auto top-up my card with 10 euros. Why is this feature on by default?
Had a hot coffee in my hand, needed to go out of the gas station as there was already a queue forming behind me and all I could think of it was why the heel is Binance charging my card and more importantly where did they get it, as I was thinking of the usual top-ups like PayPal.

Anyhow, I dislike when services do things without notifying you, even if it's something quite harmless as this one turned out to be, but still a big no.
Any other auto features like this I should be looking for so I don't get another scare?

Although I have the feeling it was off by default, I really don't remember 100% how it was. I know that I've set it on and off, deciding in a way or another.
My feeling goes for off may be caused by the fact that when you turn it on, it gives quite a warning.
However, you can easily turn it off from the card dashboard.

What is of more concern and hugely unexpected for me is... did it transfer from the spot wallet BTC and converted to EUR automatically without having to spend?!!?!
I mean, if it transferred "for sure", but it kept the coins not exchanged, it's not a biggie. But if a conversion took place, is indeed pretty much unpleasant and it convinces me that my choice to keep the feature off and simply keep some extra BTC on the card wallet was good (while I keep the spending funds basically as EUR).

stompix, are you sure you have top-up feature disabled? Than this is a bug!

But if it was not, then it cards FAQ it is written, that they will do a daily balance/after each transaction made check and top-up to manually set minimum amount in EUR/USD. If you have crypto on cards balance, it will be exchanged automatically, but if dont have it, Binance will take funds from Spot Account.

It transferred between euro accounts (spot > card), I have the euro set at first priority on the card.
I don't know what would have happened if I didn't have euros in my spot account but I assume they are not jerks enough to exchange, they might just fund the BTC card wallet with BTC, I could test it tomorrow, as I'm getting curious myself.

Now that I think of it if I would have known of it before or if I would have got a message telling me my card wallet is low on funds do I want to turn this thing on I would probably have done it but it caught me off guard and was really unsettling as I thought for a moment all my money on Binance is gone and that my cc was charged somehow. As I said, it was before drinking my coffee this morning so my brain was not really processing things at the usual morning 33%.

stompix, are you sure you have top-up feature disabled? Than this is a bug!

No, it was enabled by default for my account, as I had no idea what that thing was.

Sure about it?
Why do they have to overcomplicate things that can be so simple?

Then it's OK, especially since the feature was actually on.
And in the "test" variant they will probably fund the BTC account and exchange only when you actually spend.
However, in case you keep bigger amounts of funds at Binance, I think it's better you keep the setting on off, to make sure the damage is not too big if the card gets stolen.

it was before drinking my coffee this morning so my brain was not really processing things at the usual morning 33%.

Don't worry, it has happened to me too now and then, I know very well what you're talking about  Cheesy

It's correct and it's simple: card wallet funds are spent first, obviously by the order you've set. It refers to all the coins of all types from the card wallet.
If those don't suffice and the "auto top up" is on, it will get funds from Spot (allegedly there is some setting somewhere telling what's the card amount under which this is triggered).
I think that I've said this: while the main spending funds are EUR, I keep some BTC on the card wallet exactly as backup, exactly to avoid the need of auto-top-up at emergencies.

At least with my card, I had such situation 3 times.

For example I had around 60 EUR on the balance and some BTC. I tried to withdraw 100 EUR. ATM showed me insufficient balance error message, I got SMS of a failure withdrawal, but later, when checking card balance on Binance account, I saw "BTC to 40 EUR exchange". It was not instant, and if I'm not mistaken, it took 1-2 days to complete this procedure. It all ended with me having 100 EUR on the balance (which I dont needed after these 1-2 days passed...) and less BTC on cards balance.

Updating experience with my Binance card.

Ive been using it from the beginning of 2021. At first I had some issues, but the solution to them was to convert crypto to euro manually and top-up card with it. Nothing works automatically for me.

Now Im on a vacation in Europe. The card was rejected in Barcelona airport duty free shop and I failed to pay around 300 euro for the hotel (this is less than daily limit). Failed to pay in one of Romes cafe’s. Then I got tired of feeling embarased with cancelar/cancellare and used my regular card.

When travlling with Binance card, always have another card with you.

Binance debit card is a robust product, especially in terms of crypto top up. One of the worrisome things is the fact that binance debit card issuer Contis also issues debit cards for a handful of crypto-related and EMI projects. Hopefully it does not become a pressure point for it in future. We all remember wavecrest and wirecard.

Indeed, @bakasabo has exactly the problems I used to have with another Contis card: getting declined here or there for no reason.
So yeah, while Binance card is not bad at all (and cheap too!), I totally agree with this:

When travlling with Binance card, always have another card with you.

Little update with card usage in Barcelona - successfully used it to buy tickects for aquarium and merch shop inside.

I think that Binance card can easily be used in low reputation institutions, like shops, local small tickets sellers. But such places as hotels, airports, government institutions refuse to accept it.

Sad truth - “While using Binance card, you always need two cards”  Cheesy

I just noticed that Binance enabled using spot wallet as a sort of backup when you don't have enouygh money on funding wallet. I don't know about the others, but I like the new feature as it happened to me a couple of times to get card rejected because I forgot to move more funds, and then I couldn't use the card until I get to my computer.

When your Funding Wallet balance is insufficient to pay for a transaction, the system will automatically use the funds from your Spot Wallet to pay for the full amount of the transaction. However, if your Spot Wallet balance is also insufficient, the transaction will be declined.
The system will deduct assets from your Spot Wallet using the same sequence of spending currencies you set for your Funding Wallet.

By the way, how's everyone satisfied with the card lately? I don't know what Binance did, but I don't remember last time (it has to be at least 9-10 months) I got the card declined so at least for me it looks like that they sorted that issue that was very annoying as you always had to have a backup card or some cash with you.

Has anyone from EU tried getting a new Binance Visa card lately?

I am asking because I recently read a rumour that few months ago Visa stopped issuing new Binance cards for their EU users and since my card expires in a few months, I might start looking for the alternative if that rumour is true.

They lost their partner back in June and there is not a single one willing to come to replace it as Visa plans on ending a ton of those partnerships in Europe. Wirex is also unavailable for the EU with their cards completely not working and hasn't managed to get a replacement so, probably it will be safer to look for alternatives.
Although.....
To be honest, I dropped all my crypto cards and just when I need to spend some coins I send them to Bitstamp and from there directly to my ING account, it's fast I don't have a ton of things to worry about like support, and there are no fx, exchange fees, no fees on ATM, I get a replacement in 48 hours, so why bother with a fourth party here?

This is not a rumor. When I log in my Binance account, I've got this message.

Until they find someone who could replace Paysafe, they wont be supporting EUR. I've asked their support, if this warning is related only regards purchases (purchases with card) only, and they have told me that I wont be able to withdraw EUR from ATM either. Technically, from October 31 this card will become useless everywhere where EUR is a major currency.

Previously (this summer) Binance told that this Paysafe situation will affect only EUR deposits. But not it affect EUR in general. First I have thought to test whether USD ATM withdrawals gonna work, as we have ATMs that offer EUR and USD withdrawals, but has dropped that idea. Who knows what Binance will come up with next month.
