It's going to hit $1000 by Jan 1 for sure.

$1000 Zimbabwean dollars.

At least when my currency devalues, it doesn't get heavier to buy a loaf of bread.

Million dollar idea: Bitcoin for loaves of bread. Shipped.

Look on the bright side.  At least they had no shortage of toilet paper.

Savvy speculators snapped up mint condition Zimbabwean banknotes and put them on eBay.  I bought a $1 trillion Zimbabwean banknote a few months ago, to go with my Yugoslavian 500 billion dinar banknote.  A 50 million Weimar Republic banknote also joined the collection.

Now I think the fundamentals are there. It's time for $1000 Bitcoin. Everyone ready?

More "$100 by Christmas" trolling I see ?

I'm 100% serious. $1000 by Christmas. Don't be such a bear, balanula.

I'm 100% serious.  No higher than $3 by Christmas.  Don't be such a bull.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

I don't think it'll be much longer before we see all the bids above 2.15 wiped out, the big walls disappear, and the price finally move below $2.00.

Do twinkies count as bread?

In all seriousness, the Christmas present I'm wishing for is $5 BTC.  I'd be ecstatic with that.

I'll give you 1 bitcoin if it does - you give me $1000 if it doesn't. Do you agree to the bet?

That would probably be more reasonable the other way around.

Eh? I can afford 1btc - and I'm happy to take $1000. Perhaps you'd like to take the bet. It's reasonable for me. And that is exactly what the OP is proposing.

All I meant was it's more in line with the odds (1000:1?), but odds are subjective so then again maybe not.

besides, if it did go to $1000 per BTC then you'd be able to afford $1000 Smiley

I can theoretically see Bitcoin at $1000+ by Jan 1, 2015. That would be the "wet dream" scenario. But as far as next Jan is concerned, I'd be surprised if we are $5+.

I don't think the thread is very funny, btw.

Would you like to make a gentleman's wager of one bitcoin that your wet dream will be fulfilled long before then?

EDIT: Damn, you guys are fast posters!

I imagine that a lot of people don't want to get left behind and are at least hedging in.

But why would one want to respond to your query?  I mean if you wait until after the fact, you can come back on these forum boards and brag about what a genius you are no matter what happens.

sig spam anywhere and self-moderated threads on the pol&soc board are for losers.

I hate all these people who want the bitcoin value to drop, FOR FUCK SAKES, $1 IS JUSTA REFERANCE POINT.
THE VALUE OF ONE BITCOIN IS NOT THE SAME AS ONE DOLLAR, AND SHALL NEVER be the same.

The only damn reason i can see asto why people want value to drop is this:
1.To buy and resell
2.So that coins get "adopted" as a type of money.

It doesnt fucking have to be worth $1USD to be accepted!, It just needs to stabilise!
