The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

If you haven’t already I would recommend sharing this auction on Twitter/ Reddit / Instagram etc. Obviously selling a graded 1000k Cas doesn’t happen every day and normally non-collectors would show up /sign up for. I’ve seen a lot of people express how badly they want one of these or just any Cas for that matter in those types of outlets/threads but have no clue how to locate one. Would definitely create buzz that would be good for the auction and good for the collectibles sub’s growth.
Best of luck with the sale jack.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m one of those people that just discovered this forum and that ChiBitCTy described as looking for a number of these items. Good luck with the auction.

Charlie is going to dig this up for us. Just curious... does the 1,000 btc coin come with any signed message from mike or the 2FA password for the wallet?
I had to ask Charlie on this also, he says there is a 2FA pw he will dig up but he’s confident there are no signed messages.

Interestingly, almost everyone that bought this 2fa gold cas from me did not ask me for the address or the passphrase. This item is much more a collectible than a physical Bitcoin. So no reason to know or even care what the address or passphrase is. It's not like someone is going to fund it or redeem the coins.

I agree with you sole heartedly. This 1,000 BTC CAS coin is one of the most sought after crypto coins ever. There are about 15 coins of 3 different kinds of this denomination including prototype I think but I may be wrong. I am so excited to see this coin on the auction and this is my first time seeing this coin on the auction. This coin and the very first day issue of CAS coins are my most favorite of all. Even I cannot participate this action because it is outside of my range but I definitely enjoy watching the auction. Thanks, Rainbowsky.

If I'm not mistaken Coblee bought 20 unfunded 1,000 BTC Casascius coins directly from Mike Caldwell. 5 loaded coins have been sold, of which 3 are still active, and there was 1 prototype coin. Fun fact: These coins cost $5,000 (1 oz gold spot + $200 + 1000 BTC) during its launch.

Little housekeeping as there’s 7 days remaining:
@goldlyre please create your own WTB thread and not spam on mine, especially after reneging on a bid without even discussing with me first.
And to everyone PMing me, I am never going to sell below my min bid listed here. Let’s be clear - I don’t *have* to sell, so if it doesn’t then it’s no big deal. I’ll likely keep forever as a family heirloom. I’m content no matter what happens.
To those of you bidding and playing “fair”, I thank you. Good luck to all participants.

In about 4 days + 50 mins (from time of this post) the auction will conclude. Couple of updates 1) Update on Bids lot 1: <none> lot 2: 0.05BTC Agrawas lot 3: 0.115BTC Cygan 2) I've had several messages asking about better pictures of the coin, so I'll link 4 images below. It was surprisingly difficult to get the lighting just right to highlight the patina pattern, but I think I've successfully done it. Please let me know if you have any other questions/concerns.

Did the coin have a patina pattern on it when you received it? I ask because mine doesn't. I am wondering if we're seeing the effects of the coin being removed from it's airtite and graded by ICG (or perhaps handled by you?). Could be a good precautionary tale about the dangers of removing coins from their capsules or having your coins graded.

@OgNasty - The pattern was there when I purchased form @Coblee a year+ ago. He already had them slabbed and I bought as you see it. I've never handled or re-slabbed/etc. The pattern does not appear to have changed at all during the time I've had it. Question for you- Does yours have the error holo + the 2 factor like this one does? Haven't seen that very often, and your pictures didn't show the back side.

Ahh, I must have bought mine before he had them slabbed. I'm guessing either coblee handled them with his bare hands at some point or the grading company did. Would be cool if coblee could shed light on that mystery as if this happened during grading it would certainly effect user opinions on graded coins. Mine is in a regular airtite capsule. It has the 2 factor like yours but I'm not sure about an error holo. What is the error on this hologram?

"What is the error on this hologram?"
The series 1 holo error - with the typo showing "Casacius" instead of "Casascius".

"What is the error on this hologram?"
Unless I'm mistaken, the multiple lines stacked in the hologram to the right and left are misspelled - they are all "Casacius" instead of "Casascius". Again, I'm not referring to the large centered one, but the smaller font ones on both sides.
Thanks for that. I only looked at the big one. It's been too long... I'll check mine, but you'll probably have to be patient and give me some time. I assume they all have the same hologram and coblee could confirm, but I'll check and get back to you eventually.

I've never handled the coins. They stayed in the capsule. Since the capsule is not 100% airtight, some oxidation might occur and react with the alloy in the gold. That's what you are seeing. This happened before the grading.

Looks like copper oxidizing to me. Gold alloys with copper have had similar on other coins.

Couldn't help but notice, the casascius has a 666 in it's grading serie. It's not like someone is going to fund it or redeem the coins.
I like funding them.
