Hello guys!
As you already know, there are some good projects created that are associated with bitcointalk, including: BPIP, Loycev’s projects and others.

I think it won’t be bad if forum’s budget will be used to rent some strong vps/servers that are available in pretty good prices by Hetzner and other hosting/colocation providers.

I think it will be most cost effective if we hire one server and unite all good projects here. It will also give stimulus to other members to work on good projects and host them after they successfully build it in localhost.

I know it's a short post but I think the meaning behind it is pretty understandable. I don't know whether others agree or disagree with this opinion but just wanted to share mine.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

The project are owned by the different creators of the project, even if the forum wants to do as you say and integrate those projects into one server, the consent of those who owns it has to be signed/agreed they might choose to remain single and not to be joined in one server with any-other.

Those projects are good/of-assistance, but I would think Incase of any thing - discrepancy/bug/harm or anything else, the forum will not want in on it, it's not forum owned.

As much as I'd like that, I think it's a bad idea. One of the strong perks of user/community-created content is that the forum Admin doesn't have to spend time on it.

I agree! Please pay those developers big money. Roll Eyes

I don't think the forum necessarily needs to sponsor those projects. If anything, a simple donation is much better than making everyone migrate to a single server, which adds a lot of unnecessary complexity.

I personally would prefer to control my own server and not worry about messing up with someone else's project.

What is the difference between revealed all the information in forum itself and host third party websites? Rather than host them, the admin could reveal all the information available on the third party website. If the admin hosts them, then it will somehow related to the forum, but now, they are individual. Since the site is their own innovation, it's better to keep far from the forum. On the other hand, the admin will need to assign someone to manage hosts for them. So, I do not agree with that proposal. Let's keep them individual and separate from the forum.

Theymos took down the beta site for the new forum software, and let comunity do their part in testing.
I think this should be a good example of what you suggest that will never happen. Sorry to say that but it a lost cause.

Cteating such projects like BPIP, LoyceV's one or others are just personal interest I think. People keep data so that they can use later although the projects are public. Why would that be connected with the forum? Why would forum budget be used here? I would be happy to see the fund to be used for the development of the forum like fast the work of new forum software.

The idea behind my post isn't to just directly donate every tool that's used for digging user's statistics.

I mean it can be a little boost for some crypto startups. For example for tools like bitcoin address balance checkers, price converter and etc. Some users may would build tools for that purposes and publish it on free subdomain to show it public. It can sound like free hosting for bitcointalk members for crypto purposes.

If the forum is going to get involved in anything, I'd like it to be an image hosting project. That would prevent embedded images from disappearing after a while.
