I guess if politicians are open to this kind of business maybe they will be into this, why? because if they keep their money into crypto who will know that they have this kind of investment, an amount keep from the eye of tax payers, first of all there is no way to trace your transactions point to your name due to its special features. So maybe there are lots of officials who are into this who works silently, who knows they might be one of the big whales around. Shocked Shocked
I think some politicians are open to bitcoin, and they invest some money in bitcoin too. But they don't tell their friends because they don't want to get trouble. Or they use bitcoin as the investment from the other sources' income, so they don't pay the more taxes. We don't know the truth, and we can only guess if the politicians buy bitcoin or they don't care about bitcoin.
of course they are, politicians are updated to which can be the fastest to gain money and they know about bitcoin.
some of them may have invested long ago to use for their political dreams,or some are investing in altcoins or ICO to easy money.
they might not be broadcasted but for sure there are plenty of them that involved in crypto specially bitcoin.

if we disregard thier position as politicians they are just a normal person and they can invest or like btc personally or outside of thier profession and there so many politicians around the world not just one so there are atleast few of them that supports btc personally or with thier profession included . to the blockchain , i dont really think so because not unlike to btc that is only a currency , a blockchain is a system and what if itl be applied on the politics or voting  . they can be screwed if they are dishonest of achieving thier position .

Quote
For long, politicians have been skeptical about crypto/Blockchain tech as it provides an "escape route" from the existing monetary system controlled by governments worldwide. Some of them have seen the benefits of this emerging industry, showing their support for crypto. In the US, a presidential candidate named "Andrew Yang" publicly expressed his support for crypto/Blockchain technology. Other politicians have touched the subject lightly. All of this is good since it helps Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies grow in the mainstream world. The same politicians supporting this emerging industry, could perform legislations to make crypto/Blockchain tech more legitimate in the mainstream world. Yet, the number of politicians supporting crypto is very small compared to those who don't.

Which politicians support Bitcoin? Do you think world leaders will embrace crypto/Blockchain tech at its fullest? Or will they go against it? What impact will mainstream politics have in the future direction of Bitcoin? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
Yes many politicians support Bitcoin because they have see with their eyes and how every citizens will benefit and also improve the economy of the government. I think with time all the world leaders will fully legalized bitcoin for every citizens to embrace.

Bitcoin is a digital assets, by which is not control by any one, as we all know is that is decentralized currency, hence to move towards the direction of demand and supply, that determine the market, therefore government and politicians coming into Blockchain is a very good idea as long they keep the rules and regulations of the platform.

I have seen in our country also not many politicians truly understand the bitcoin. based on the media reports or just reading negative news only they demand that it should not be allowed as it is threat, people lose money etc. They are not ready to understand the advantages or deeply go through it and this is where it hurts the most.
We also have the same issue here in my country. Most of the news that is related to crypto was negative, the always headline was someone who has been scammed in the crypto investment and this quite sad. They only saw Crypto in a negative way. Fortunately, our government was apparently supporting it though there is some negative news attached to it they never make a law against crypto. Perhaps our government might be also getting a benefit out of it.

I think it takes time for politicians and governments around the world to support bitcoin. They currently only see bitcoin as a profitable but risky investment, limiting their support for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
In the future when the cryptocurrency develops more I think politicians will have a different view of bitcoin.

They often correlate bitcoin as a bubble, just because they heard it from their other investor friends. And also, others are somehow afraid of the constitution, with two pieces of things in mind, wether to support bitcoin or not since there's still no clear disclosure if the state wants crypto or not. If I will be in their shoes, I will do the same, I'll wait till the constitution themselves figure out how great bitcoin is, then I'll become a polician or figure that will lead my people into financial innovation. Sadly, I don't like politics at all.

I wonder if one of the politicians can tell the public that they support bitcoin, and they are already investing in bitcoin. If that happens, maybe people will think that bitcoin can be the other investment source, which can give them another profit besides their jobs. That can help bitcoin to gain popularity, and the number of users that used bitcoin will increase. I am sure it will happen in the future once people realize the benefits of bitcoin to them.

I support that politicians support bitcoin, especially in a country like mine, but they should not use the money that is expected to take care of the citizens for it. And if they use it, it's just that the money revolves back to we who deal with cryptocurrency. Because those government officials whether we like it or not will definitely steal some money at the expense of the citizens and some of them are even looking for where to keep it to avoid being monitored.

Back in 2017, most of the media articles about Bitcoin and other forms of cryptocurrency were showing them in good light. But then multi-billion scams such as PlusToken and OneCoin happened. A lot of unsuspecting investors lost their money, and till now the masterminds behind that scam are leading a free life. Perhaps this changed the media perception about cryptocurrency.

I think some Government figures or politicians will support bitcoin but I think most will not because bitcoin can be traced and they probably don't want that when their christmas bonuses are around the corner.
I think only honest people would want it. It would be great though if a political party focuses solely on cryto as a means to move forward. It gives freedom to the people.

Right now there are governments that are not on the side of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, and at the same time there are those of them that are in support of the cryptocurrency and Blockchain tech.

I can’t tell what the future holds for the crypto community, but I’m certain that Blockchain will gain more adoption, there are already lots of companies that are adopting the Blockchain tech around the world and I believe that as time goes on the numbers will go up as the companies continues to see the need for it in what they do. But as for governments, they are likely to create their own cryptocurrency and not adopt Bitcoin.

Sadly, we have the mainstream media to thank for the bad publicity Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency in general has been getting for the past few months. There were members of academia, some minor politician or I should call them government employees that shows up in some minor A.M. radio station and voiced his support for Blockchain technology, but there is no mention of Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies on that interview. I also saw another editorial in a newspaper that mentions blockchain tech and no mention of Bitcoin on that too. So I guess there is a difference there between people openly supporting Bitcoin and those who support the Blockchain technology and no mention of Bitcoin and Crypto.

Government figures or politicians supporting Bitcoin looks impossible to get because almost off them not understand with bitcoin and altcoin as currency transaction, they don't know how to use and get much profit as bitcoin for investment and trading way. They just take benefit how to be popular politician by giving way to get positive respond from many people, will be happen when getting government and politicians understand what is digital transaction and how benefit for the future by adopting bitcoin as legal transaction payment, We can get how the future bitcoin and altcoin when getting on them understand and want to learn with bitcoin or altcoin.

The only instance when I heard about politicians holding Bitcoin was around three years ago, and that was from Ukraine. Check this:

https://www.coindesk.com/45-million-ukrainian-lawmakers-reveal-big-bitcoin-holdings

Apart from that I have never heard about any of the politicians (at least the mainstream ones) holding cryptocurrency or at least talking about it in a positive manner.

That's totally weird. I guess that most politicians are afraid of letting know the public about their Bitcoin stance, as it may lead people to abandon Fiat in exchange for crypto. If politicians decide to use Bitcoin, they'll do it secretly (off the record) in order to protect Fiat's dominance in the mainstream economy. After all, governments want to keep control of people by controlling the economy (via the use of Fiat currencies issued by a central bank). When government figures or politicians become supportive of Bitcoin, it's mainly to regulate and enforce control over it. This is somewhat good, since it maintains the legitimacy of the crypto/Blockchain industry. But the bad part is that it introduces the middleman, which Bitcoin was meant to avoid in the first place.

Nonetheless, the fact that some politicians are supporting Bitcoin tells us that mainstream adoption is growing faster than we've ever imagined. Regulation will come one way or another in order to legitimize the crypto/Blockchain space. As long as governments have a friendly stance towards Bitcoin, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my opinion Smiley

Politicians are also businessmen, they know what makes them beneficial or not. They might use their position to manipulate their people. With the good stance of all leaders towards Bitcoin the more it gets attention and trust from the community. May not all of them are investing crypto that is why some of them never agree and support Bitcoin in the market. However, it is not a reason to ask their support but for some interest that they can also benefit from it. In my opinion also.

Well, if they don't find solutions to the flaws of the current monetary system then they might have to replace the old with new emerging industry such as Cryptocurrency and blockchain. I think in the future, we will be seeing more politicians supporting even US congress showed signs of adoption. Rumors say, xrp could be a potential candidate to replace dollar but that's still rumors.

I think some Government figures or politicians will support bitcoin but I think most will not because bitcoin can be traced and they probably don't want that when their christmas bonuses are around the corner.
I think only honest people would want it. It would be great though if a political party focuses solely on cryto as a means to move forward. It gives freedom to the people.
some are, but many are not because transactions are transparent and traceable. it would take up their space for more money than a few gross yields. political parties will never focus on crypto because crypto will become a threat. However, some of the political parties may agree with some other developments so that they are compatible with political parties.

I don't remember any of them. But I am sure that soon they will have more of them and they will talk about crypto openly.

They are already speaking the cryptocurrency language. As you can observe many countries are coming with different kinds of adoption and getting friendly with the digital space. That means that politicians are getting more in the ride with bitcoin.

XRP can't replace USD even though XRP is better compared to CBDC or fiat because of reserves, most of the countries holding USD as the reserve value so if we want to change all these things into XRP then we have to print more XRP which result into the same issue of inflation like fiat. And moreover government don't let a third party currency to be the reserve currency all over the world.

It would be a really great jump starter if one politician took interest with Cryptocurrency since people in power has this influence to really indulge others to learn it. They could also start teaching people about it and how to monetize their time with it. Lets just hope that these people in power would not abuse the financial opportunities Cryptocurrency has to offer.
