How on earth these users fall for these trick? If you're familiar with Uniswap you should know that they don't have a mobile app no? Why do they have to search "Uniswap" on Google? Or is the traffic coming from Google ads?
I'm also baffle that someone can still fallen for it when I read the twitter of that guy.
It is hard to trust anything publishes/approved by Google these days, seems like things like this keep popping out every now and then.
I agree Google approved this apps to be in their Google store, that alone shows how or what mentality they have.
...
thank you for this information...
I have noticed that there are dozens of new swap projects emerging at this time. UNISWAP is the most interesting because it makes a scene by providing airdrops of great value to its users. hopefully, no one else becomes a victim of the token theft.
I'm sorry to tell you but someone already did.
Thanks for this information, I'd almost fall for it
Good.
IMHO, It's very hard for Google to create algorithm to determine whether the app is malicious or not because the code used on the fake uniswap is just like a typical app. The only thing that make it a scam was its use the hacker address on deposit address of the app which is too hard to determine by the bot. We can't blame Google solely on this matter because the user should research first whether uniswap officially announce this app or not before using it. We all know that there are tons of fake/scam wallet available on play store. The only thing we do to prevent it is to report it or be cautious.
If their algorithm cannot determine which is fake/phishing or not, then they should have someone to manually check to see what these apps are. Not just for crypto, but everything available on their store.
