Is this giveaway allowed?

- It is not an altcoin giveaway.
- it is also not a Bitcoin giveaway.
- It is an on-forum giveaway that requires incentivized posting of usernames (might be considered spam, low quality post, etc).

The giveaway is free spin. What I understand is that the board only allows bitcoin giveaway. They are asking to post username only in the forum in exchange for x number of free spins.

I have seen the cases where users were banned to participate in the giveaways which were not bitcoin giveaways so considering the experience I will not risk myself joining that kind of giveaways unless any mod gives a green signal here.

PS: I think the original no altcoin giveaway was meant to stop all those ICO spammers in the early days when every single day there were dozens of new ICOs were popping up. But now things has changed. Some of these altcoin giveaway are not that overwhelming. We need a new direction I guess.

This is not a bitcoin giveaway nor an altcoin giveaway. It's just a free spin giveway and we have no rules for that yet.
Therefore, we can give the benefit of the doubt and i hope no user gets banned on this giveaway. If they need to stop this type of giveaway too, they need to amend the rule.

We do have rules on alt-coin giveaways, but not yet on free-spins so, in my opinion, it's probably fine. Free-spin amount won can be credited in Bitcoin itself, so it may not be an alt-coin promotion either.

I am skeptical about this at the same time I feel it's alright.

I would not consider this like those typical giveaways. In this one, you actually do a lot of work in the background before posting a result. It's better calling it game rather than using the word giveaway.

The last time I checked this kind of thread from bitcasino was to look for a match of the slot game image the post. I thought this is one of them but it seems different from others. However, this is still very different from register and post username but not sure how to treat it.

Anyway, yes this could call lucky draw instead of giveaway.

Bitcasino.io did an altcoin giveaway a number of months ago & dozens were banned for 2 weeks. theymos later reduced the bans but I certainly wouldn’t go entering any altcoin giveaways any time soon

Edit - It was mprep who banned everybody.

i never noticed that giveaways to the bitcasino.io before. Well, it is too bad that some participants had been bad because it was an altcoin giveaways. Actually, I am ignorant when it comes in rules of giveaways because I frequently join in giveaways unless it talks about bitcoin or eth giveaways. Anyway, thank you for sharing that stuff. It will be automatically banned for users who joined in altcoin giveaway but what about the OP who posted the giveaway? Is there any consequences they would get?

Includes the OP, not just the participants.

Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned. Existing threads will be locked.

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

Similar threads are already restricted to Games and Rounds in the non-altcoin sections, but the giveaway-related post volume is so high in the altcoin sections that I've decided to just ban them entirely here.

If the report can be scored faster than the PM's reply, please report the thread (anyone who can view the report history). If you get a bad report score. So it means that giveaway is allowed.

I reported it to quench my curiosity and maybe others. if the report comes out as "bad" it means it is allowed(I don't mind a 1 bad report). if the report comes out or stays "unhandled" it means it might be in the grey area and mods are probably reluctant to take action. at least that is how I understand the meaning of unhandled when reporting to the mods.

There were cases on reports being marked as good but no further action taken.

just an update: I got a bad report after reporting the giveaway. so it is safe to assume that the give away is allowed by the mods. it would be nice if they update the rules or put more details on what is allowed on games and rounds to prevent confusion like this in the future. I guess this means case closed.
