Dude's gone mental, really, possibly drowned from the attention he got from all sorts of media and used it in a negative way by promoting shit coins and manipulating it until profit is achieved. I couldn't care less about him not filing tax reports and evading every possible tax there is when it comes to crypto, but the unfair and scammy practice of promoting a con coin and then dumping it to his supporters and followers is really shitty, putting cryptocurrency's image on the dump.

I just want to see him get jail time for at least 5 years. Perhaps that's enough time for the market to forget about his influence and pin him down as a con man who did nothing but profit from the newbs.

Not really sure what happened before but seems a lot of users here are not in good terms with john McAfee. I've read some user's post about John McAfee's shilling tokens before and caused a lot of newbies to lose most of their investment or result on price crashing is that right?

I think he would be fined more for tax evasion than lying to investors promoting ICO projects.

That of lying for promoting fake projects would have been more suitable for investors who have list heavily for because of fake hype from him. If only there are standing roles on cryptocurrency against deceivers, it can be more nice so investors won't lose their savings. I don't support tax invasion too.

5 years would be good but it will be much better if we wont see him on 10 years time until people do forget all of the trolling that he had done on this market.
With that much money i do believe that he would really just able to arrange things up and able to make himself free about these charges yet he can simply
pay up if there are charges to be made for him to bail. He's not that dumb on not to get out and there still lots of trolling and shilling out
need to be done on this market.Hopefully he wont make it out and also people arent already interested into those words that spout out from to his mouth.

Quote
John McAfee, the 74-year-old software magnate-turned-crypto-bull

They used the term crypto-bull
Other sites are using terms like : crypto enthusiast

I really would appreciate if these articles are being written by real people who appreciate cryptocurrencies. Every single person on our forum the least knew who the person really was.

He was arrested on the basis of a Tax Fraud, like many people he tried to use cryptocurrencies to invade taxes. Even today I saw a post on how if we buy something from bitcoins we might save on tax and such. The thing is :

1) Tax Fraud on any level is wrong
2) cryptocurrencies are highly regulated because people actually do things like these. They are not something with which you can evade tax or do something illegal
3) laws are being made stricter everyday and these kind of people really portrays us in a bad way

Lying is a skill of marketers. It's what everyone does everyday for sure in the market, so I believe he is going to be heavily fined and would be under bars for a considerable time.

^^ Or crypto influencer, LMAO!!

Oh well good riddance, we really know what's up with him when he shows up in 2017 and giving exorbitant predictions on bitcoin, Lol, that's how he became famous. But of course, we all know that this guy is a borderline genuis and lunatic. So it doesn't take time for us to see what he is doing. Started to ask money for ICO projects back then to shill. And then that infamous "I will eat my dick" on national TV. And now that SEC is really targeting those ICO's, it's just a matter of time for John to be arrested because he made a lot of money back then and obviously didn't pay any tax.

I thought John McAfee had supported cryptocurrency? There is even a thread in the bounties and altcoins raising funds and supported by him as what it has been stated in that thread.Anyway, if he is being arrested then there is a violation that has been made which ground him for the arrest.

John McAfee could influence greatly to cryptocurrency because of his software created that has been use all over the world. If he can get back to cryptocurrency then I guess he can be an asset or one of the best influencer in cryptocurrency.

He has enough money to rescue himself and should not be a big deal. Who is going to be in charge of Coin/token of the week now? I was a victim of his shilling in 2017 when I don't know left from right in trading.

Actually I'm not that surprised by the arrest of John McAfee, because with all the sensations he has done so far, certainly will get
McAfee into legal trouble someday. And sure enough, finally came the news of McAfee's arrest in Spain in connection with tax evasion.
But despite McAfee's bad attitude, we should be concerned about what happened to McAfee, after all he is an influencer who plays an
important role in increasing the popularity of cryptocurrency. Hopefully the problems that befell John McAfee can be resolved quickly.

I'm definitely not totally against tax evasion(because most governments suck), but I'd probably at least be ever-so-slightly compassionate about his arrest if he didn't pump and dump coins left and right. Dude made A LOT of money taking advantage of his notoriety while dumping on a lot of newbies.
Circa 2017 and 2018, McAfee created a trend that newbies thought they can rely on McAfee's tweets to get profits in minutes. In that period, some coins were pumped crazy after tweets from McAfee.

In fact, there is no free signal from any influencer and any group. If someone or any group give you such signal, they intend to get benefits from it. When you buy, you increase volume and price a litle bit or too much, it depends on how you buy and accumulate coins. The signal givers take advantage of it.

Yes the guy is finally arrested.  I used to follow him. But once he started bashing Bitcoin, I just un-followed him forgot about him.

I just didn't care anymore what the clown had to say about Bitcoin.  When I heard the news of his arrest (tax evasion charge)  I just couldn't wait to share it with you all  Grin Grin

Link: https://www.coindesk.com/sec-alleges-john-mcafee-pumped-tokens-for-profit
He is old enough to be on Jail so maybe His billions (if not Millions) is enough to pay the bail.
What is important for me now is that John will shut his mouth for some time now since he is already under arrest.

I don't support tax invasion too.
let us the government care for Him because he made a mistake regarding tax evasion ,and about deceiving people here?
maybe His time has gone.

I also think that his money is more than enough to pay the bail and just like you I am happy that this topic could be at least the last topic about this clown for a very long time here in crypto.
I think that he wouldn't be put in jail for a long time or I could also be wrong here however it could really affect the projects that he is promoting right now.

Surprise surprise, only a minority is actually genuinely interested in cryptocurrencies. Most "news" media sites just frequently write about crypto just because they get a good amount of publicity, especially the negative ones hence why most crypto news are negative.

I think a lot of people are going to walk away from this arrest. His famous "I will eat my dick" won him many enemies. And his pump and dump alts more. I don't feel sorry for him.

Wasn't he going to run for president? LOL.

If he'll gonna run for the future, I'm sure he'll gonna lost. Lol.
Things are better if McAfee just don't underestimated bitcoin. Speculate bitcoin as a normal enthusiast and should not tell fake stories just to gain some popularity and attention. It shouldn't be like this if he maintained his balls up  Grin . Now where did his popularity leads to? In jail now.

Even though he was a scammer for shilling shitcoins for money I still feel bad for him.

He probably didn't need any money from the altcoin-retards anyway. Wasn't he already rich?

And he could have dodged the IRS easily too if he paid his taxes.

To me he was either trying to make point about how retarded this world is or he just didn't care at that point and did whatever he feels like without thinking much about it.

Either way, arresting a US citizen in a foreign country just because he didn't pay his taxes, left a quite shitty look on the US.

If a citizen doesn't pay his taxes, you do what's necessary when he is back to his country. You just don't arrest him in where he lives. That's beyond retarded.

Imagine Germany arresting a German citizen in the US. Even if it didn't before, now it sounds stupid right?

Serves him right. Imagine how greed people can get. Even after making tons of dirty money through shilling, pumping and dumping useless tokens, he still feels the need to evade tax? How i wish such people would just rot in jail.

Talking about dirty money... how much money have the forum members made by carrying the signatures of the mixers? I am not excluding myself. If you believe that was honest work and what McAfee did wasn't then that's hypocrisy.

Crypto has always been about pump and dumps.

In fact, that's the best feature of crypto.

The reason why he hates BTC now is that he got to eat his own dick soon when BTC does not reach 1M in 2020.

I'm not sure how violators like this will be severely punished or not, but McAfee certainly knew that something like this was being prepared for him - so it's very strange that he didn't flee to some exotic country that doesn't have extradition laws with the US. Since the man loves publicity, I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to create as much media hype around this as possible, so in the end he might profit again.

There is no doubt that he is guilty of promoting ICO and various shitcoins, but only those with low IQ could believe him - just as some still believe he will do something on TV - and the man publicly admitted that his statement about $1 million per 1 BTC only served to attract the attention of as many naive people as possible.

Hahaha!!! He said that he's eating his d*ck if Bitcoin doesn't reach $1 million dollars by the end of 2020. He has less than 3 months to go lol. But I simply don't believe he will do that live on TV or private. Oh well, he deserved that arrest for not disclosing that he was paid by these ICOs for pumping them.
