Newbies and how to rank up easily

I have seen a lot of users even I said already said this before. It was good for a newbie to say those advices but we already get that even before.



Being a good member of this forum is not just making good contents (of course we should made it). But we should also be active not just because we want to earn merits but we want to share ideas to the forum. Ranking is part of the system and I think it is only for us to gather a good signature campaign which paid us when our rank is high. There are also good opportunities we can get if we have high rank.

Well, of course, to be active is also important to rank up but also we need or a user needs to be active, sharing idea or opinion, and making quality posts at the same time to able to rank up higher.

Threads in the Beginners board are for beginners' Q&A. This is not the "Post quality tryout Board".

People used to and still occasionally do merit these "write quality posts to earn merit" kinda "guides", so it became a trend for merit fishing. I suggest everyone to think twice before meriting a post by a newbie who gives out advises on this board, posts "newbie motivations" and so on. Don't do this if it's because of pity, it's worse in the long run for them and for others. Let them actually try to apply those ideas to themselves.

I know right. I mean, there are already numbers of posts having this kind of content in this board. It's becoming redundant, really. So yeah, I think it's about time that instead of posting advise like this, maybe they should start applying it to themselves so that their growth and development will show.

You don't need to be committed in this forum just to rank up. I believe that this forum is created for us all who knew cryptocurrency can share ideas, help solving problems, learning to be secured and other things that will be good for the community. After all, merit system is made for it to happen since there are postets that made this forum flooded with spams and scams.

Yup, In the past, it was easy for me to get a rank up to the hero, but I disappeared from this forum for a few years and started it all over again.  The rules change, rank can be increased with several requirements, one of the most difficult is the amount of merit. 

In my opinion, this policy is very good for advancing this forum.  Actually it's not easy to increase rank, we have to give extra time, energy and thoughts to contribute to this forum.  I say that because until now I haven't even made any merit since coming back to this forum.  But this is not a problem, this forum is not just a race to increase rank but it would be better if we build a community that is able to discuss many things and provide solutions for fellow members in need.  Over time, in every quality post, merit will be generated. 

Not only get rank but you also get family in this forum.

So my advice to us newbies on the forum is to create good and quality contents, high quality Posts and create thread that add value to the forum.

How much are you contributing to this forum, depending on how much merit you qualify for. I have seen many members who have posted thousands of spam but have not earned a single merit, they are still in that newbie rank. Honestly I have seen many users who are really posting some decent replies or post itself in the forum yet they are having a hard time earning and getting some merits here in the forum so what low merit users including me needs to do is to provide direct answers to other users here in the forum, an answer that will really clear all of the misunderstanding that has brought by the post itself, because with just simply saying your opinion even though are are quite knowledgeable about the topic other users may not see your reply, strive to make your reply and post stand out from the others, as of now I am still practicing it but generally I am still new in this forum so I think I have a long way to go.

I feel the struggle of the new members here or those who are low in rank so whenever I have merits to give and stumble posts coming from newbies that deserves I never think twice to give it to them and support and praise them if they have good threads or posts, this is to encourage newbies to keep it coming.

Let us not bully other users. In my opinion merit grabbing post should not be degraded after all rewarding merit is upon the decision of the one who holds merit to send.

I had read some replies which surely can make OP being that could let him down. There many ways to tell and advise OP on what to do on how to earn merits but other users are not minding OP that their replies could be that rude. In the end we each member does have feelings so let us be sensible sometimes.

The thing is how should 'quality' be defined?

After hours and hours of surfing over countless threads, there is simply no 'one' definition of quality and this does not also depend on the definition provided in a dictionary. Quality comes in all or a combination of the characteristics given below:

• Recentness

A hot or a more recent topic usually has more value compared to those that were already aged a year or more. As some say, "The news should always be 'new'". Though it is not the case when a topic is still considered to be reliable (see Validity and Reliability).

• Validity and Reliability

The validity of a topic is a very important characteristic because your topic would be useless otherwise. Also, with this being reliable, your post may age but would still retain its value. How would your post be valid and reliable? Cite sources, provide reason and justify your claim/idea. What if you are sharing an already whole idea by another? Add some personalization to it and cite it (see Personalization).

• Depth

One can retain or lose readers by the depth of your text. Readers avoid a too shallow idea be cause some see it worthless, unless you really have to (see Purpose). Too deep ideas are tedious to read, unless you're a nerd or something. Try creating one that is balanced so you'd catch the largest spectrum of readers. Hence the name, user-friendly.

• Purpose

What is the purpose of your post? To share or to farm? Believe me when I say that many people can feel the greater intent of a post just by the post itself. You'r post cannot be of good quality if you do not aim for it. It's not simply the earnings (though it is included), but the real reward that you'd receive here would be the helpful information and effort that you give for others.

• Personalization

Some people posts others' ideas and credit it. That's nice! However, where's the good in it? If you're going to share an existing idea, might as well contribute to it by saying some of your thoughts about it. People love listening to others' comments.

• Interest

The last and arguably not the least. This is a major reason that drives people crazy... Errm, motivated to do whatever it is they're doing. If you plan on taking the world by ideas, lure the world with what they want.

You are right too. He posts good post, but may not be very interested in important topics. That's why members don't notice his good posts. You have to continue your good work and try to contribute as much as you can to the community. Suddenly no member becomes known, for this it is necessary to introduce yourself through hard work.

Oh great, but have you applied the advice to yourself?
I mean before you suggest/advise others, it is much better if you can prove it to yourself first.
I'm trying to see on your post history about what you already did on creating "quality post/content" as you said. Unfortunately, I think you still need more efforts and time to prove it, mate. Seems too early if you want to suggest others, while you're still trying hard to prove it to yourself.

You said "high-quality posts". Once you are a pure newbie, it's something not easy to do, especially if you a newcomer in crypto. For me, the most appropriate word is "improve", try to "improve your quality posts". High-quality posts will be achieved once you have already had many experiences and knowledge then.

Don't push yourself on this ranking up. As long as you are enjoying your stay here and learning new things everyday, I think that's more than enough. But of course, if you are targeting certain rank for other purposes like sig campaign, make sure you are not spamming but posting quality contents that will be of help to others.

Sometimes, it doesn’t hurt to see how other Newbies that have ranked-up have been posting, not to copy or clone their style, but to understand what sort of posting leads to a smother ranking experience. The "easy" part of this thread’s heading is overly exaggerated for most, as ranking-up is not that easy, specially for the mid-to-top ranks.

Here's the lists of the top merited 100 accounts created this year, that have ranked up at some point. Mind you, the top few cases are outliers. If you consider that just over a merit per day is a good average to try to keep in order to make your ranking process be seamless all the way to the top (in relation to Activity), there are not that many 2020 accounts that seemingly are on that path:

you have to share information with other members, interact on the discussions, give ideas with regards to their questions, its only by posting topics you can get merit, since almost everyone has the same idea you should be clear with the information because it might have already posted, also how you deal with other members in the forum being nice to everyone also should be done everytime.
