This is something that can be beneficial to the middle class people than some kind of tax relief and we can expect 10% price tag on every product we use on the daily basis and their reason for this is they realized they can't keep on riding the religious politics for very long so they need to attract people.

She is really thinking about the middle class, I totally agree with this. Even the bitcoin-crypto bill was passed only considering that top wealthy class deals with cryptos. She will tax those individuals but in terms of middle class, she will really give it a thought. Yes, she was trolled like hell but what I feel is these wealthy people started trolls after they saw they were being targeted.

Even this is a big relief for corporate employees whose packages are below 12.75 lakhs. All they have to pay is professional tax of around 200rs to 400rs every month which is really not that bad.

Saw some report that with this move, average tax on indirect taxes (consumption )is down to 11%. It was obviously much higher earlier but doesn't look too shabby.

Creamy top 3% of farmers should be first target, this group work as cartels. Then we have celebrities, politicians who hide their wealth by cosplaying farmers, this group buy agriculture land like candies and avoid taxes.

Politicians and bureaucrats also need actual scrutiny, how come every single MPs, MLA etc manage to send their kids abroad for study etc on gov salary?

Almost everyone is avoiding tax even upper middle class and the only reason is IT is not acting at for for anyone who don't report their taxes, they will aim to find the big guns and most often it is used as a weapon by the ruling party against the opposition not really to make the country better.

I read some stats about Income paying users in India. The total number of population in our country crossed 150 crores but as per the record people who registered on the tax payment site is just around 13 crores which means only less than 10% of the population ever paid income taxes in their lifetime and also in these 12 crore around 8 lakh users comes under 12.75lakh tax exemption limits which leaves us only 5 crore people is paying the direct taxes in our country.

This is why the government levied 150% tax rate on fuel and if we want these indirect taxes to go away then we need some serious change in the IT.

I get really pissed of when it comes to taxes. The high earning farmers like Amitabh Bacchan don't even have to pay any tax which is a shame to be honest.
I understand hard working farmers need not pay tax but those are already rich should be paying their taxes to support the economy.

I understand business people create jobs and hence the government gives them reliefs on taxes but as much as we need jobs, those business people need labors/employees.
It's a two sided thing and so both the parties should pay their due taxes and have the same kind of reliefs.

The only thing we don't pay tax on is breathing and for everything else, we pay tax.
We pay tax on our salary, we pay tax to travel via air/train/road, we pay tax for food and drinks we have outside, we pay tax for clothing etc..
On top of it, if we invest our money and fortunately make profits to cope up with taxes then the government tax on our profits also.
All of this from our already taxed money.

I get where you’re coming from. It really has felt like we’ve been stuck in a loop of overpromises and underdelivery for years now, and the pandemic just exposed how fragile everything was underneath. The optimism that used to surround startups, tech, and growth feels a lot dimmer lately.

It’s frustrating because the talent and drive are here — you can see it in small pockets where people build despite the system, not because of it. But it does wear you down when it feels like policy and governance are actively working against long-term vision.

Hopefully this is just one of those rough phases that looks darker from inside it, and things start shifting back toward growth and innovation soon. Until then, yeah… heads down, survive mode.

I agree, a rich person must need to pay tax even their source of income is agriculture. May not be in percentage, at least like a flat fee when their income exceeds certain limit. Hiding your income stream in the name of agriculture is not acceptable especially when such people are doing in large volume (like in 100s of acres).

Another real shame about taxes in India is, individuals' total tax contribution has exceeded the corporates'. This really needs to be fixed. No other developed or developing country got same scenario. Corporate taxes were reduced for giving them opportunity to create more jobs but not sure how many new jobs created because of reduction in corporate tax. A corporate will find new methods to earn more hence more taxes will not hurt them in a same manner how an employee finds higher GST and income tax. So, government must focus on individuals rather than corporates.

Democracy is no different from colonialism or living under kingship but the only difference is for every 5 years people can take their chances on state and national level.

Tax is very important for a government to work efficiently and I won't paying my taxes at all even if it's flat 50% for whatever I make but I should enjoy the benefit for what I pay not just one group of people or the government officials just loot them completely who are not even working at all since they joined for a position which is why people are not interested in paying it.

So if we want them to pay then government also need to give it to the deserving ones.

You are right, Amul should have been in this category since a long time.
The funny thing is, the liquid that is extracted as whey when making paneer is the main thing for making whey powder and they have been throwing it away for so many years.
If they would have started long back they would have seen tremendous growth because no other brand offers whey protein for such cheap price.

I want Amul to dive into vegan sector as well, I understand they are dairy centric brand nonetheless vegan sector is something they can tap into as there is lack of vegan products in India — soy milk, coconut milk, oat milk products are tasty but they aren't readily available.

Whitepill moment for delhites. New CM Rekha Gupta seems to picking up solid issues like cleaning Yamuna, building Asia largest sewage treatment plant in okhla, overhead free wire etc.

Won't be an easy feat but this CM is actually trying to solve this basic stuff instead of doing drama. I opted for NOTA last time but if she manage to keep the momentum with her efforts then Delhi ncr will benefit the most and next time will vote for her.

Hopefully other states also pick up these issues.

We have to see how much of that gets done, most politicians end up making promises and the projects get stopped midway due to other issues. Since the public memory is very poor we have to keep reminding ourselves of these promises and how much they were done or not.

For now it is a good sign but how long or how much it gets solved will be the thing to see.

^^ yeah unfortunately that's how it goes but recently saw some improvement at one place and i was like abey yeh kya ho gya yahan, khude ka maidan gayab etc.

Need to clear Ghazipur garbage mountain tho but after seeing work, now can imagine ki haan yaar there is some chance of improvement.
