I think @TheUltraElite should create a thread about these (Bitrefill, Coinsbee, and other) service providers for the local board user. I recommended his name as he has been using them for some time and knows in & out about them. One of the global mods can then pin it here. I have not used them, but it looks like a good idea to utilize the crypto for making a purchase. Almost everyone here is using Blinkit and other e-commerce websites; rather than using fiat currency, a coupon bought from crypto can be a great idea to make a purchase.
Not a bad idea. There are too many scams out there, so having a list of trusted services that provide Indian gift cards, phone refills, DTH recharges, etc will be a good addition. And if someone like TheUltraElite makes a thread, it also gives assurance to the users. Although maybe it's a good idea to mention that these services, while trusted, are outsiders and we don't control them. I'm suggesting this last point because once I recommended a guy to my friend for BTC to INR exchange on Telegram, and that dude ended up scamming my friend. It's weird why he did that, but my friend for a long time felt I got him scammed for my gains lol

Some of them are really good, like Bitrefill, Coinsbee, and Cryptorefills. It'd also be a nice idea to have a section of trusted exchangers whom one can rely on for quick exchanges without issues. Localbitcoins closing down was a big hit for us, I am sure.

The kind of strategic silence all parties opted in case of recent akal thakt shenagins and even in some cases taunted and dog wishtled bhagwant mann, think everything has gone dogs to already.

Surprising pictures came out when he visited akal thakt and every media specially so called champion of constitution went poof from the scene. No one even wrote a single article, let alone holding a debate or discussion.

There's a need of another other KPS gill or same doctorine in Punjab, otherwise we are done for.

All electric cars with an ex-showroom price of Rs 30 lakh or less registered in the national capital will be granted 100 per cent exemption on road tax and registration fees, as the Delhi government approved a new EV policy on Monday.

Under the new policy, people buying e-two-wheelers will get a subsidy of Rs 30,000 in the first year, Rs 20,000 in the second year and Rs 10,000 in the third year.

As part of the policy, only electric autorickshaws will be registered in Delhi from January 1, 2027, while registration of new petrol and CNG two-wheelers will be phased out, with only electric two-wheelers to be registered from April 1, 2028.The policy, approved by the Delhi Cabinet, will come into effect from July 1.

This is a good initiative to help control air pollution, although I think the bigger contributors are still being neglected: agricultural burning and industrial pollution.

They can't, or won't, do much about the big industries, so they're trying to squeeze the common man instead and push people toward electric vehicles. That's fine, but there's only so much that can be achieved that way. At some point, they need to address the real issues.

Electric vehicles are run on batteries right - One thing I still cant get around my tiny brain is that if the batteries need to charged every now and then, the power is going to come from some source. That source is going to be fossil fuels at the first go anyway - so where did the pollution control go to, its not polluting the city but it will pollute the villages.

Correct me where I am wrong, but I feel unless the charging system power supply is made from renewable sources, we are still in the problem.

EV is less dangerous to the environment is just a myth, it even causes more damage, because they need to dig out the earth to make those batteries and need to burn coal or nuclear reactors as the main source of electricity, so it just gonna increase the consumption of electricty. We need EV to be less dependant on other countries that is the only valid reason to convince the people to go for EV from now on.

You are correct to question it. India has 201 fossil fuel-powered electricity plants, 197 hydro electricity plants, and 7 nuclear power plants, all of them operational. India is trying hard to reduce its dependency on those 201 plants by increasing the hydro and nuclear facilities. These plants are not located near cities, and they are surrounded by dense forest. Their emissions are also controlled. It is happening, but the main issue is the pollution inside the city. Delhi is unbreathable in the winter. Multiple governments have tried to blame it on the neighbouring states and sometimes the neighbouring country. None actually found a way to tackle this immense pollution in the winter. This new government is trying something; whether it will be effective or not, we will see in the in Nov & Dec.

That is true. It makes complete sense. It's obvious that the big companies have tied hands with politicians and forcing people to shift to EV.
While I am not against the EV technology in itself but electricity will come at a cost.
Once people get comfortable with the EV infra I am pretty sure these companies will start charging hefty fees for charging vehicles from charging stations.
Not only that, since electricity consumption will increase in residential properties, we will automatically shift to higher cost range for electricity bills.

I read an interesting fact rather a worse situation of the country, more than 60% of the houses in our country may not be suitable for EV because the copper wires they used or the whole electrical components are not used for high electricity consumption, so even if they want to buy an EV now they have to invest certain amount in the wiring for the home EV charging station.

This is a new angle that I had not thought about. It is true that the majority of old houses might not even have proper wiring or earthing. Here in my state, we face frequent power outages and voltage drops. Even though I have an emergency backup system, it might not hold up while charging an EV, and those fluctuations will degrade the performance of the battery.

In short, if you are planning to purchase an EV, you must upgrade your home wiring. Sourcing help is a challenge because nowadays, it is difficult to find an electrician here to check all of this. Most of them prefer to work on new construction projects rather than taking on renovation work.

This entire situation by the government reminds me of a dialogue in the movie Nadodikkattu. The character wants a dream house with spacious rooms, a respectable neighborhood, a bathtub, and an AC for a rent of 100 rupees a month.   Cheesy

Yeah, the wiring in old houses are quite unstable mostly since they use very thin wires.
But for charging EVs I think it should not be much of a hassle since the metres installed are mostly out of the house these days.
So we do have the option of taking the wire directly from the meter for  the EV connection but yeah, it does involve some cost.

Even in that case, there is still a need for upgrading the existing power lines from poles to the house because they might be less suitable even for 1KW of load in single phase, and I am not adding the bribing cost for the electricity board officials which can even reach lakhs depends on the locality.

I might switch to EV when we have the complete system which could be possible by 2030 until that I am sticking with my honda even if it gonna destroy my Ivtec engine. Smiley

I am not an expert when it comes to electric lines so not sure but I guess the current wiring from electric poles to our houses should suffice the need for charging EVs.
The reason I am saying this is because there are already houses which are charging their EV cars from their residential electric supply.
Even my friend has one EV car and EV 2 wheeler and he is charging his vehicles from normal electric supply.
His house is nearly 7 years old and is in an area where there are not many houses, its an agricultural area you can say.

If wiring was the issue, then no one could charge their EVs (car or scooter). Anyone can charge their EV at their premises, regardless of the type of EV they have. The problem arises when you use fast charging in Indian homes because the allocated KV is not sufficient for fast-charging adapters. So if you plan to buy an EV car then before installing a fast charger in your house (a fast charger costs around 40K), check with your local electricity substation whether your house has the allocated KV to install the fast charger.

Win after win for Delhi and CM Rekha Gupta.

Drove through Ghazipur today and that huge garbage mountain is now half. Never seen delhi government working in such pace without any fuss, atleast in last decade.

Win after win for Delhi and CM Rekha Gupta.

Drove through Ghazipur today and that huge garbage mountain is now half. Never seen delhi government working in such pace without any fuss, atleast in last decade.

Kuch to acha karna padega for the next five years. If they want to make a comeback for another 5 years. Yamuna ka kya haal hai? They were supposed to clean it. I have not come across any news that the cleaning has started.

Only improvement is that it's not black anymore lol and cleaning it completely will depend on how fast they can build new sewage treatment plants in Delhi NCR, it needs support from Haryana and UP as well.

Aise kaam karenge toh vote apne aap hi mil jayenge.

~
The reason I am saying this is because there are already houses which are charging their EV cars from their residential electric supply.
Even my friend has one EV car and EV 2 wheeler and he is charging his vehicles from normal electric supply.
His house is nearly 7 years old and is in an area where there are not many houses, its an agricultural area you can say.
If they used the cables that is sufficient to take the load of three phase line then they can be used the same even on single phase too but the old wires that comes in two different cables instead of single molded one that might needs to be replaced because it is usually fittle for small houses that is alloted with 1KW load, I am not an expert too but I have some knowledge and my family had lot of rental buildings that usually opted with cheapest cable possible.
