Private investments are important for the economy and there is no denial that Jio made the internet prices cheaper when we used to pay 199 for a GB of 2/3G to Airtel. What I am saying is they should allowed BSNL to grow as well along with the private players because BSNL is still the only coverage available in certain hill regions, with this restriction those consumers are forced to use slow internet while the private players are making loads of money.
It was a marketing strategy by Jio, as in the initial days they were offering free unlimited internet service for a whole year. They later on made this scam of getting 28 days of recharge normal. And now they are increasing the 28-day tariffs at regular intervals. This happened because our government allowed a duopoly in telecom rather than keeping a Competitive Market. If you look at the domestic aviation industry, you will see a monopoly by IndiGo. If the opposition party was good, then they could have used these issues to disrupt the government.
If you are not paying for the product, you are the product.

Jio did it with free calls, phones etc. similarly all the foreign AI companies providing cheap and free services to students and everyone is thrilled about it.
Most of the Indians never cared about the privacy or anyone selling their data as long as they get a rupee as cashbacks, that is the state of our country so we can't expect them to be the west where people really take the privacy and data collected by anyone seriously.

And if you guys didn't know, Jio and airtel planned to increase their tarrif 15% very soon and they already removed many existing packs. If you are jio users, you can have upto 2 recharge in the same price at queu or they announced something called price lockup if you pay 300 for a whole year so you can recharge the current price instead of the new one.

True, we do not get privilege or privacy while using public transport. I am sure most of us have experienced it. It is in our DNA, which we cannot remove, as we still believe in our government.

Then, they proved it when the COVID vaccine was delivered for free. The Aadhaar card is a simple example of how our data has been captured. Meanwhile, in the US & EU things are not that simple. Their governments are known to experiment on their own civilians. You can check this Wikipedia article. Their government has always betrayed them; there are tons of examples. They were used as guinea pigs for experiments. That is the reason they want privacy.

It will happen because we do not have a competitive market anymore. We are in a duopoly, and these two will be controlling the market, even though most of the time the Airtel network and Jio network are not that good in many areas in India. BSNL was an option but the government destroyed it.

Did you guys hear about the recent incident in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra where an entire family was wiped out of existence just because of an iphone ?
So a kid demanded for an iphone but his father being a rickshaw driver denied his demand and so the kid proceeded to buy it on EMI.
Then being unable to pay the EMI he demanded his father to pay the EMI for which the father denied again.
Seeing this the kid went to the top of a mountain and threatened to jump, the father tried to convince him and pull him out but in the process they both fell and lost their lives.
Her mother couldn't tolerate both the father and son losing their lives and so he jumped from the cliff as well and thus the entire family lose their lives.

It has become a viral news and has become a shocking incident in India. Most people say it is the kid's fault because of his unnecessary demand for an iphone.
I personally feel that if the parents would have done their due diligence in making the child earn for himself then this wouldn't have happened.
This is something which I believe we should adopt from the white where their kids start living by themselves after they turn 18, something may be we can adopt as well.

^^ that's a fucked up news and that's how good chunk of our Zen Z are, full on entitled mode.

Although there's more to this incident, this family also lost their eldest son due to illness 6 years back which led to usual depression and cracks in family relations.

That's not the actual story. Please read this article. Police investigation has revealed more information and it was never about iPhone or the EMI.

Although there's more to this incident, this family also lost their eldest son due to illness 6 years back which led to usual depression and cracks in family relations.
Yes, after his elder son's death, the father left the house and started living separately for 6 years. The boy wanted his father and mother to reconcile, but they did not want to. So he tried to commit suicide last year at the same location. But at that time, people were able to stop him. This time, the father's attempt to act smart caused the brutal mishap. There is a property angle that is now coming out, too, which was the reason why both parents were living separately. BTW..the family was financially stable.

EDIT: Wanted to share this new initially: UPI Completes 10-years. Clocks Nearly 13000 fold rise in transaction volume
