Hi there...

I've been using Cryptsy since I got started in digital currency (a whopping 6 months ago) and for the *most* I've been okay with them. There have been some hiccups along the way but until now I haven't really considered switching.

I've read so much about them lately that is negative that it makes me nervous. Can anyone recommend an alternative exchange with a wide variety of alts?

Thanks,

Cynthia

I've used BTC-E in the past and haven't gotten screwed by them yet. Whatever exchange you do use, make sure to be careful, and only hold any currency on the exchange for as long as you are trading it, never just let your coins sit there, since any exchange can be shut down at any time, without warning.

Cryptsy is a quite good exchange to trade altcoins

I use Cryptsy currently. It's kind of scary when a couple hundred thousand (or in one case a couple million) of a given altcoin
disappears from my balance with no warning b/c there was a problem w/ the blockchain and Cryptsy disabled trading of that
coin with no announcement. I've also had instances where support tickets went unanswered for weeks.

Don't get me wrong, I love the variety on the site. It's the bumps in their operation that make me nervous.

Cheers,

Cynthia

No exchange is without hiccups and normally have horror stories from a lot of people. It's hard to trust theory their stories and exchanges though, but that's always the risk with trading.

For Alt currencies, I think Crypsty and BTC-E.

Just be smart with whatever exchange you choose. Remember it's not a wallet, if you dont need to have funds there to actively trade, dont keep them there!
