This is Turkish Super League 2020/21 season discussion thread.

This year 21 teams play in Super League because federation decided to keep all teams from last year, no relegation and 3 promotions. Every week 1 team rest and 20 games are played.
End of the season 4 teams will be relegated instead of 3 as normal.

First poll of the thread, which team will win the championship? Early season expectations. Poll is running for 30 days.

I don't really follow this league but since Bitsler have this, I'm gonna try my luck in here too. I would appreciate it if you can you fill me in on the teams that usually makes it to the UEFA Champions League? I only heard of Galastaray and Besiktas before.

Sure, I believe this thread will be full of predictions and insights starting this week. We are in 6th week now.
Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor are biggest clubs and have most titles. Başakşehir is the latest champion. Other teams didn't even get one championship in their history. (Only Bursaspor has 1 championship and they are not in Super League)

Last years the league structure changed too much though, we can't expect only these 3 big clubs to win the championship. All teams have financial problems. It's a real gambling when you bet on Turkish league matches, keep that in mind.

This is week 5 standings.

Even though Başakşehir is the last champion they started with 3 loss, then got a draw and they beat rivals Trabzonspor to get their first win. They are still at the bottom.
Beşiktaş started season good, beat Trabzonspor but after that they couldn't get a win. They were resting in week 5 so they have 1 match missing.
Galatasaray got 2 loss in a row, fans chanting for Terim to resign. Things are complicated on their sides.
Fenerbahçe started good, they are favorites this season. Alanyaspor couldn't run like that whole season, we'll see them drop down upcoming weeks.

Nice to see the turkish league thread here. This league has dominates. I think Galatasaray, fenerbahce and besitaks are the most prominent clubs but things could have changed, I see besitaks down on the table. Anyway, I will stay on to check on the thread.

It is nice to see that there is a topic about Turkish Super League. Fenerbahce-Trabzonspor was the match of the week. Despite they were losing, Fenerbahce turned the things around and picked up a 3-1 win. Today, there is a match between Denizlispor and Besiktas. I think Besiktas will win the away match.

Beşiktaş won the game but after 3-0 score Josef De Souza was sent off and Denizlispor found 2 goals. That was a very unprofessional move by him.
It was an easy game for them until 67th minute but they struggle in last minutes because they were one man down.
They still managed to get the win and went on higher standings, which they already should be in. Bets are won, today was good for everybody.

We left behind the first 6 weeks of Turkish Super League. Surprisingly, Alanyaspor still have the lead. Although Alanyaspor's forward player Khouma Babacar is having really successful matches, I don't think that Alanyaspor will be on the top 3 at the end of the season.

Week 6 finished. Alanyaspor is still leading, that's a surprise but they beat newly promoted Karagümrük which is expectable.
Başakşehir made 2 in a row, beating Antalyaspor with 5 goals.
Beşiktaş, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe won their matches, this is not a common situation like it used to be.
The other weird thing is the only game that finish as draw is the Friday match, Kasımpaşa - Göztepe. There is no surprise score this week.

Week 7 finished today. This is latest standings.

Fenerbahçe is on top after today's victory against Antalyaspor. They have a great run this season and they are already favorites to win the championship.

Galatasaray, Beşiktaş and Başakşehir also won this week and only big team that failed big time is Trabzonspor. They lost against Kasımpaşa and now they are in 19th place. They have 3 losses in a row. Their manager Eddie Newton resigned and now they are looking for a new manager.

That was a close win for Fenerbahce today. They almost blew it against 10 man. In the end, 3 points are 3 points.

This week will be very competitive matches. I am especially looking forward to the Beşiktaş match. Must win against Gaziantep. Fenerbahçe, Alanyaspor and Karagümrük can reach the victory without any difficulty. This week they will play against very weak opponents

The matches to avoid this week are Galatasaray, Göztepe and Denizli

Week 8 starts with a good game. This Friday Beşiktaş will play against Gaziantep FK at Gaziantep. Josef de Souza is back, his red card ban reduced from 2 to 1 match and he's available now. Beşiktaş has a good 3 win run and they need that fourth to close that point gap between top sides Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.

N'Koudou is still injured so we'll probably see Larin and Aboubakar together at forward. I hope Sergen Yalçın won't start defensively, there is no point to fear Antep. They need to put pressure over Antep goalkeeper Günay Güvenç by shooting from range whenever they see. We know he makes easy mistakes when he feels pressured.

Beşiktaş winning odds are pretty good so it will worth the risk. I pick straight Beşiktaş win for this game. Over/under goal bets look risky to me because Gaziantep's attacking side is unpredictable.

You know this is soccer made up of same number of players on the field of play, 11 man each to face each other. Gone are the past that big teams can run over weaker teams with no difficulty, I hope that we don't see surprises this week.

Fenerbahce have started the league better than the last season. They didn't get a lose in 7 matches so far. They will play a home match against Konyaspor this week and I think they will win. Besides, I think the match of the week is Sivasspor-Galatasaray. It will be a hard match for both teams. In my opinion, this match will end in a draw.

Beşiktaş lost an important game and left behind. They have only 10 points in 7 matches, 3 losses already.
It looks like they don't have a good game plan, attackers can't do much. After that (wrong) red card team failed to create chances. Referee was pretty bad too. How did he wrongly read that position and show Ersin a red card, I didn't understand. VAR didn't warn him as well. It was pretty weird.

Fenerbahçe lost first time this year. I'm surprised because I didn't expect them to lose at home. Maybe Sosa's injury hurt them more than expected.
Konyaspor manager İsmail Kartal managed Fenerbahçe in 2014, he is one of their icons. This victory meant more to him.

Konyaspor has only 2 wins in the league but they beat Beşiktaş first, now Fenerbahçe, I wonder what will they do against Galatasaray. I hope they don't break this tradition.
All other games in Super League today finished as draw. That was weird.

Week 8 finished, now it's national matches break. Current standing is here:



Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş lost. Galatasaray and Başakşehir won and they took advantage.
Trabzonspor still struggles to get 3 points, they only won one game in eight matches.

Başakşehir won 4 matches in a row, they were at the bottom on Week 4. If you make a good run you find yourself over the top of the table. Competition is real hard this season. Every team can beat each other. It feels like last season.

This year is different, 3 more teams play in the league so the marathon is longer. It's pretty early to talk about championship. Usual suspects are Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.

It looks like the standings week after week are getting their true form.I see all of the stronger teams divided by few points now in the top of the standings.It is going to be a good Superlig this year if all the teams only keep improving themselves.The funny thing is Alanyasport still at the top of the standings which I doubt it will stay there  long.

When we looked at the matches of the last week, we got results as I expected in Galatasaray, Göztepe and Denizli matches. Galatasaray's match was very contentious. Göztepe and Denizlispor could not win. I made successful predictions on this subject

But we saw surprising results in the matches of other teams. Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe lost, this was not something to be expected and i lost the bet

Next week's games will be very exciting, the referees have to be very careful in Beşiktaş match. One more mistake is unacceptable
