Are you sure that altcoin have less risk than bitcoin? Take a look with the DiFe price right now and compare with the price when it just launched? Most of them just dump in several days and I doubt their price will come back to their all time high.

Different with bitcoin, although its price just dump to $3500 but I'm really sure that bitcoin can back to its all time high because I look to its community and even most people now who just come to crypto will choose bitcoin as the first intention.

Ethereum, Xrp, Ltc and other altcoins are suffering the same fate, but don't worry,
if Bitcoin is sideways, then altcoin season will appear, hold there is a good choice.

It is indeed will not always the same trend. When bitcoin pump, altcoin will have it's time to increase. We observe people always expect both have the same trend but the market is volatile so price movement is may increase and decline. So, imo, those top coins will have it's time to increase its value in the market.

If you compare the two, of course Bitcoin is far profitable than altcoins. So it is risky to invest in altcoins, just look at the movement of
Bitcoin compared to altcoins. Bitcoin is safer because it recovers quickly, while altcoins are rising very slowly. It's true that some altcoins

It is indeed will not always the same trend. When bitcoin pump, altcoin will have it's time to increase. We observe people always expect both have the same trend but the market is volatile so price movement is may increase and decline. So, imo, those top coins will have it's time to increase its value in the market.

If you are watching correlation between the major coins and bitcoin. Those major coins will have the same pattern as bitcoin but sometimes it will be also having the opposite trend than bitcoin.
Both were always correlated from one to each other.
It's not always about the momentum. The increase can happen anytime but this time bitcoin was pushing the whole of market.

you tried to explain that Bitcoin is a rather lower risk investment than altcoins, and that is probably the fact, but one should bear in mind that there are different altcoins, and take longer period to draw conclusions
at the moment, Bitcoin is in the best position to grow, since there is a tone of positive news, but if you look at six month chart, most altcoins provided better return compared to Bitcoin, at the moment part of that profit is going back to Bitcoin, and will be back to altcoins after some time and Bitcoin rise in the meantime

If he can invest bitcoin from a few months ago and still hold it until now, he will make a big profit if he sells right now. With bitcoin price still increase, the risk of losing his money value will reduce, and the profit will become bigger. Some altcoin is also increased, but not many of the altcoin can increase this time because that altcoin needs more time to pull up the price to the high price.

Yes, but if he wants to diversify the investing in crypto, he can invest in altcoin too. The bull run for bitcoin happens again, and I hope that bitcoin price can increase so high and break $14k. Ethereum, Ripple, and other altcoins try to survive and try to rise from the low price to the high price. But still, it needs time to see that will happen.

Actually I am seeing different because altcoins also grow as bitcoin did. Some of the altcoins are being paired with bitcoin and that if bitcoin rises its market then so does the altcoins no doubt about it. This base on my observation to eth crypto. This crypto had good market price before however bitcoin market crashes and all altcoins did same thing happen to eth. But ETH now slowly recovering aftee bitcoin did and same as other altcoins and that is why I had mention that I am actually seeing different as what OP had observe.

Altcoins actually carry the same amount of risk as bitcoin. as long as it's an unstable cryptocurrency, I think the risks remain the same. for now, bitcoin and altcoin users seem to be the same, because if they are using altcoins, then they are likely using bitcoin too.
In terms of price, it is not always when the price of bitcoin rises that the price of altcoin goes up, as it is today. bitcoin price went up quite high, but the altcoin price didn't go up or even go down. I feel that when the price of bitcoin goes down, the price of the altcoin will experience a big drop. yeah, but there were a few moments when bitcoin prices went up, altcoin prices followed after that, and this is what I hope to happen for now.

If you're looking at the fiat value then bitcoin is a better choice. But if you want to earn more btc, then I prefer altcoin. I remember when eth was almost at 0.1btc each and just last year ltc reached 0.014 each (correct me if i'm mistaken), just imagine if you bought 10 pcs of that at a lower price per bitcoin then sold it at that price. How much btc can you earn.

You will see that when btc goes up for some days this altcoin might fall but sooner this will start rising as well and that is why when btc rises thus many altcoins as well keep rising. Also having both like btc and other altcoin is better choice as you get to diversify your risk as well and have some altcoins too in your portfolio for long term.

How do you describe that altcoin has less bump and dump compared to Bitcoin?

Go to coinmarket cap and see top gainers and losers in the last 24 hours,and everything will be altcoins, basically the useless tokens which are bumped by whales.

Altcoins are more risky to hold,that is the real fact.

Bitcoin always dominates the all crypto market. Its dominance is always at high. The dominance of altcoins can rise or falls with their pumps or dumps but dominance increase with altcoin pumps does not last long.

Your statement is not correct because there is no guarentee that bitcoin rise results in altcoin rises. No guarentee that bitcoin fall results in altcoins fall. These two are positive correlations between bitcoin and altcoins. The negative correlation between them is when bitcoin rise and altcoins fall. With bitcoin and altcoins on the market, you can see all these three kind of price movements.

Bitcoin is the coin you can get more safe when you invest and if you want to get profit.

I don't see anything but simple correction, now bitcoin is pushing towards 14k, still think that bullrun isn't here yet? Think again, I belief that PayPal have huge effect on crypto market this time, it was a rumour a year ago but now that the news came from PayPal itself changes everything, it's always bitcoin for start and later altcoins will follow, just hold your ground people

I vouch for your opinion as altcoins in fact are more riskier than bitcoin with ETH being an exception as it takes ages for altcoin to recover from a massive dump wherein bitcoin does bounce back on top, most of the panic sellers ends up losing capital when altcoin slumps which is not the case with bitcoin. Exactly, even the pump of altcoins happen only if there is a change in BTC price which means they are still dependent on BTC, Alts on the other hand are usually a lot more volatile and risky they are not as secure as BTC.

If anyone plan to invest in Alts, please do your own research and be aware because it is not a safe haven like BTC.
