I personally prefer to see that such a centralized entity uses a decentralized network like ethereum to issue the digital currency. When you are the smartcontract creator and you can do anything that you want to make your coin become safe like putting the backdoor. Tether was doing it and it controls multi-billions worth of stable coins at this moment.
Build a new chain is not always become the solution.

We have been hearing news like this for years, but in the end nothing happens. So highly likely the Government of Australia won't be using ethereum blockchain network to power a digital currency. Probably there are lot of drawbacks for which they back out from using current blockchain networks to power their projects. Would have been great though if that ever happened.
If they are serious about this, they might start powering their own blockchain network and make their own controlled centralized coins. Still a better thing to do than having nothing.

The whole Bitcoin market is moving up and almost every coin is also going up with the BTC price touching serious numbers and one who doubts bitcoins even now needs a mental check up because even PayPal is now accepting bitcoins purchase and if they are trusting the bitcoins and the crypto market in general there is no reason someone should not trust it.

I don't invest much in ETH so I don't care as much but the whole market is going up and some alts I held with heavy hear might be paying dividends soon for my faith into them. Lots of good news, but now bitcoin is dictating the rules. Therefore, we need to build on the Bitcoin trend, because we all know that altcoins rise and fall faster.

I agree. While the news around ETH is great and if CBDC does actually follow through then the network update needs to happen soon. Overall, this will benefit the crypto community with crypto becoming more popular and extending the use of ETH network which will make it a very popular alt.

At the same time, we must live in the present and as previously mentioned right now the attention should be on BTC which is breaking new records high of this year. At the time of this post BTC has broken through the 15k barrier and has been staying in this region for several hours already. We all know what with BTC growing and gaining momentum the alts have no choice but to shrink in volume, price etc.

So best to remain cautious trading these as volatility might eat up all you profits and maybe even all your capital investment.
