I think the main reason the Philippines government has done this is to harvest more taxes.If they get taxes for every bet that is made,like an X percent of the amount of each bet,this is a great move for them.I doubt any government does such thing without second meanings and only to make its citizens happy.

It's to be able to keep those companies or casino still in operation since there are still strict protocols regarding crowd and to avoid people gathering for leisure it's indeed only the decision to keep these business since unlike in restaurants which can do take outs, casino can only do it via online to keep them open as well they'll be able to pay taxes while following protocols of social distancing and avoiding un essential activities.

Basically not only the government will be beneficial in this regard, this is a welcome development from this country and we all know that, the country is one of these that accepted gambling in it totality. This is really good news. Some of the countries have archaic colonial-era laws, which makes no sense. If ship-based casinos can be allowed, then why not land-based casinos? Is there any proof that land based casinos play a larger role when compared to the floating casinos, in promoting gambling addiction? Also, I hope other countries such as India takes notice of this and make gambling legal in their own jurisdictions.

Some allow it because it creates job opportunities to their people that's why we see some countries legalizing the casinos. And it's a good start for philippines to allowing those casino to go online since the taxes they can get can really help the economy although many will think about bad since it's gambling but for sure this is good initiative especially in this pandemic days where they seek some funds to use for health crisis purposes.

Anyway, I don’t know why but I didn’t received any update from the City of Dreams, well I’m going to visit some casino this weekend and I’m going to try how they implement the health protocols and hopefully to get some ideas about this online betting.

I'm a sports gambler and usually bet with my colleagues as i found betting on casino is a hassle, you need to be there in the casino physically.  If majority of the gamblers in this country  would found out about this online crypto casino, i think they will stay away from physical casino, no hassle and you can gamble anonymous.

This is actually not new and I remember here in our place that gamblers are betting online and are not using chips anymore. They are using a digital currency but not a cryptocurrency through a card with private key on it to use when betting. They are actually betting online and are using computers. Yes of course they are, we are. PAGCOR is paying taxes in out government, and they uses this taxes for building infrastructure, bridges and many more. But even though the total earning in gambling is big, their tax payment is too small, it should go higher, especially that most of the gambler maybe in near Pasay are foreigners, if you could go around MOA, you will see different nationalities, they are earning big but paying tax lower then common Filipino.

foreigneirs are rich and they burned money inside the casino . casino can score big on them but we should also thank to the casino because they can attact outisders or other nationalities to come and stay more on that country if they will love the games and the services offered to them .

 tourism can contribute on the tax if not all can be covered by the casinos and its gamblers .

The Philippine government made some changes in response to the lockdown, as they approved land based casino's to accept online bet. I'm not really sure how this could be implemented though, but this is a good news for Filipino. I myself received a text message from one of them, City of Dreams, that their casino are already open and you can play and bring one companion. But I haven't try it though, I don't want to take risks, but it they allowed to accepts bets online then it will be good.

I think some countries do provide access to online gambling, but maybe this is the first time he tries it, still be careful when you want to gamble, keep your emotions under control and don't look greedy because it will only make us lose instantly and lose all the profits that has been obtained.

It's perhaps online betting is not yet set-up, they already given the green light but it doesn't mean the big casino's in the Philippines are already ready, up and running. Probably it's better to wait for next year and not to get excited as this is going to be first in the Philippines so they need to make it worry free for online bettors.

Casino's could be just one of the solution, but not the answer per se, if the Philippine economy wanted to have a head start then maybe casino should be one of the factor that can help out and then businesses operating at half will also be good. Just sad to hear that the Philippines was hit by another typhoon, it will be another cost to recover from this calamity.
