Biden says $2,000 checks to 'go out the door immediately' if Democrats win in Georgia

During a Monday rally in Atlanta, Biden said the payments would "go out the door immediately" if Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock win the state's U.S. Senate seats, saying their victories would "put an end to the block in Washington" on approving the $2,000 payments.

Runoffs for Georgia's two U.S. Senate races are being held Tuesday after none of the candidates won a majority of the vote in the Nov. 3 election as required by state law. First-term Republican Sen. David Perdue faces Ossoff for one seat, and first-term Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler faces Warnock for the other.

Republicans have 50 seats and Democrats have 48 in the Senate with the two Georgia seats yet to be decided. If Democrats win both races, they will control the chamber as Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will serve as a tie breaker. Republicans only need to win one seat to maintain control. Democrats hold a narrow majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Any possibility of $2,000 payments depends on the 117th Congress, which was sworn in Sunday, after the Senate adjourned last week without voting on the increase.

The $900 billion coronavirus relief package signed into law in December included $600 direct payments to most Americans, half the size of the checks sent out under the $2.2 trillion CARES Act, which passed in March.

President Donald Trump demanded that the payments be increased to $2,000, initially refusing to sign the package passed by Congress. Democratic lawmakers supported the larger checks, but the increase faced opposition from some Republican lawmakers expressing concern about the bill's price tag.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell initially blocked Democrats' proposal for increasing the checks and later combined the increase with some of Trump's other demands opposed by Democrats.

Tweets are going to be removed, though this would be a great time for him to start his little media empire and buy one of the conservative social media sites (Parler, maybe) and then get all of his people to move over to it to be in their own echo chamber.

He does have the ability to tweet now - though he is banned from Facebook/Instagram until the transition is complete.

people have the right to be angry, and protest/NON VIOLENTLY (agreed) with all the deceitful media lies and influencer power i feel they're JUST AS ACCOUNTABLE as POTUS, if we blame POTUS for "killing" those people in the capitol, we should also charge social media influencers with manslaughter. Trump has advisors also, i doubt he does anything without consulting with them, he's a business man afterall.

You can’t actually ban the President of the United States from Twitter. He has too many spokesmen who can send messages on his behalf and when he is banned, anything he says via a spokesperson will be amplified. This will remain true after he leaves office.

Well, first he organized the "Save America/Stop the Steal" rally for the same exact time that Congress + Pence would be counting the votes making his loss official.

Then he hyped the event tweeting things like "it will be wild", "the country needs you to fight"

Here's part of his speech from the rally telling them where to go in order to 'save america':

Lets just skip the part where you throw out the 'but show me where he explicitly said to be violent' argument.  It's bullshit.  Even if he would've preferred there be less or no violence, it wouldn't make him any less responsible for what happened. He made them outraged, he convinced them that the country needed them to go and fight, he organized the event, he pointed exactly where to go (even lied and said he'd go with them), and they marched over to the capital and did what they did.
