The email expresses Johnny's gratitude and update about the attack which is in favor of them and their users.

I see they are in control of things like what i see is the email sharing some of the things that happened to kucoin, i still believe that kucoin will come back strong in the near future because of the position of They, though people are careful when transferring money or transacting on Kucoin, now i can also deposit and withdraw via some of the top coins and maybe soon they will be back in operation complete with exchange.

Well,,, what can we say? Centralized company, and like any good business, they take care of themselves first and their employees. Like it or not, users and customers are the last people to be thought of their welfare,,, profit right?

We should never be surprised and in fact should expect this to happen all the time with CEXs and any company. Learn lessons, move on, never leave money anywhere.

I feel sorry for what happens in Kucoin, because it is one of my favorite crypto exchange way back in 2017, But due to the hacking incident I'm sure many users are now doubting the exchange capability to secure its users against any hacking attacks, Kucoin should upgrade its platform security to prevent any further incidents to happen again. I hope Kucoin will be back to its former status as one of the most trusted crypto exchanges.

The hacked case already resolved and it's only the time until kucoin will be operating normally again. currently there are some altcoins still getting locked due to the reason if these altcoins didn't wanna swap its token into the new tokens.
It sounds like kucoin was forcing the developers to did it but it's not problem and so many amounts have been getting resolved.

BTW CEO was showing his attitude and im so glad he cares with everyone in the team.
Kucoin has been getting a lot of knowledge from the hacked case that happened last months.

That is super dumb. To fork a token or a coin just because someone lost his coins/tokens.  No one will fork when I will lose my coins. Same way no one should fork when Kucoin lost their coins. Token/coins that forked because of this showed they are worthless and everyone should avoid to use them if they can.

I had a few altcoins at the time of the incident, fortunately my coin wasn't the main target of the attackers. I've planned to withdraw my coins after the WD has opened. But seeing Kucoin's responsibility to users is very good, I still believe that this exchange has a guarantee for me to keep assets there.

Since this KuCoin problem, the price of altcoin DIA has dropped so that it has hurt many people and to date the price has not recovered. this showed that in the end, decentralization sometimes has a frightening cost, the owners of the other altcoins who suffered from this KuCoin problem and who took drastic measures even if that put the decentralization in question will manage to minimize the losses. I sold my DIA and gave up following the project for that reason

Reading that they already recovered 84% of the lost asset is great news already for the users and the most important thing to know. Hopefully they could recover 100%. This kind of responsibility by the exchange to deal with such problems is what makes me respect them and know that they "probably" gonna keep responsible for the security in the future. Hopefully other exchange could follow KuCoin aswell.

Okay so that guys got the email of KuCoin CEO Johnny Lyu but they do not have access to it . If the funds of their users are still safe that won't be a big issue for him and his team.

Thank you for finding the live link.  According to those who have read the email, they responded very positively to Kucoin's CEO coming up with a new strategy to ensure 84% of the funds were hacked and the users did not incur any loss. This is good news for the loyal Kucoin community.  so don't worry too much about the leakage this time, everything is fine guys

Obviously it shouldn't have been a surprise to any that kucoin and many similar places constantly gets attacked, they are huge and if a hacker can get a hold of their assets even in just hot wallets, they could make away with a huge win.

However it is also quite risky for any hacker to attempt this because unless you can remove your traces very carefully these are billions of dollars worth companies and their lawyers will be all around the world, spending 50k on a lawyer in anywhere would be a huge amount and they wouldn't hesitate on doing that around the world if the amount reaches high levels and hackers usually steal a lot more. So, there will always be hackers who try and there will always be a better response by exchanges to it as well.

This just shows the shady arrangement that use to occur between exchanges and developers, I was told that some of these projects that decided to fork have like 60% of their tokens drained, they lend these tokens to exchanges. The time you would know a true decentralised platform is when it is face with issues like this, and will make you decide if the project indeed is decentralised or it is just a slogan

I do not care why and how they got hacked, these things happen all the time and it is understandable. However, I do wonder how they got the money back. Crypto is not something reversible, it is something final and if the hacker got the money out and into their own wallets, you can't just take it back by force, there is no method of doing that.

You can ask them to pay it back or they will face jail time if you can figure out who stole it, however even in that case after stealing millions of dollars that person could just decline and keep the money, worse case it will go to court and with that much money hacker could find a way to get out, it is not a final move. So, I don't know how they got it back, and that is the part I really wonder, it could help with so many future hacking attempts.
