Altcoins are doing very weird movements and it confuses me a lot. I have been in this crypto world for a very long time and I can tell you that I do not remember any period where altcoins were this actively used. I remember a lot of times altcoins were trader, the prices were higher in 2017 just for starters but even before that and after that there were tons of period where everyone traded alts.

However I do not remember any period where they were "used" this much, more and more altcoins are created for a reason nowadays, you do not just buy them and hold them until price goes up and sell them, that was the deal back in the day, nowadays you buy them and do something with them. This is why I think we are starting a whole new level of crypto world from now on if you ask me.

I also notice that there are many newbies who are doing a panic selling as they like to buy bitcoin instead of their alt currencies. Though I  cannot blame them as the bitcoin dominance is now sitting at 64.7% which is pretty high and we can expect that there will be many alt currencies that cannot sustain their volume that leads to the decrease of their prices.

This is the first time that I see a very big movement of bitcoin, this only means that bitcoin has been spread pretty good and the investors are  trusting bitcoin compare to alt currencies but if the bull season will be triggered then I am sure that alt currencies will surely to follow the lead of bitcoin so if you trust your portfolio then it is better to hold it.

Bitcoin is very bullish still, even after going back to 15k+ it still finds it way to 16000$ today, im starting to dream about 20,000$ because it looks achievable right now, I suggest holding many good altcoins for now and abstain from quick sell off for quick profits, a year like 2017 is possible

The temptations are everywhere, a correction is been predicted on the altcoin market as bitcoin would be receiving one too but I doubt that'll be the outcome. We're in a bullish market and in bulls all you do is hold. Trying to take profit might cost you future profits as coins can spikes to new highs in matter of hours. Bitcoin is getting closer to its all time high, soon alts would want to attempt the same fate which will result to the new bull market on alts

Bitcoin greatly affected the altcoins in every different way. some people abandoned their alts because of the they want to join the bitcoin bulling and it always results to bad decisions. Bitcoin bull run has a sad occurrence that sees alts dumping in price which leads to many noobs panic selling their bags to the whales and smarter investors who knows how the market operates. While many will be advising you to dump your coins, do know they're those waiting patiently to steal those bags off you as there's another occurrence that not many tends to highlight, which is the fact that alts bounced back after the bitcoin rally are over. Don't be that user that'll regret selling their bags during the rough times instead hold unto your investment. You holding unto your investments has to have some very strong backing like the project has to be really worth it and not the hyped shitcoins getting listed on all exchanges this days. This happen many times to me this year I have some good altcoins bought from last year and also came from bounty but 80% already sold and  I did not expect a massive movement in some tokens this last few months ,some are sold worth $0.5 each and goes up to $7 and I agree on OP just hodl your tokens for now and wait for best time to sell since we are in bull market now.

I really agree with your statement. There always needs to be a story that can carry a bull run. The last time it was about the team and partnerships. I think this time it needs to be about actual utility and usage of coins - ask yourself whether a coin solves a problem and whether people use it (or will use it) in order to solve this problem.

It would be a little different from 2017. As there are a good options of stablecoins to choose from, altcoins would suffer the most. People are now selling alts for bitcoin as the btc price rises. And when bitcoin start to decrease in price, people would jump from bitcoin to stable coin and even from alts to stablecoin that would bleed altcoins more.
