I really like the statement about holding altcoins with strong backings and projects that worth it, now the question is, how many of these altcoins are even worth it? They enter with hype, have massive pump and then dump, and some people will still be holding with the mindset it will pump again, when it's already evident that their growth were as a result of hype, and hence nothing much should be expected.
My own opinion is, Bitcoin is the best out there, and its growth always attract more attention and more investors, and it is altcoins that suffers this, and these category of altcoins are those with no strong backings, those that were just hyped etc, in this case holding Bitcoin is far better than those coins. I have the same point of view because we have expereienced this in the past. I am talking about raging or parabolic btc bulls where all other coins are under pressure and it is hard for them to maintain value because people start flipping alts to btc to take advantage of the run that results in even more pressure on alts.

I would say holding would be the right call for now. If you sell right now you are going to regret later when they go up, if you buy right now you may not have enough money to be patient and have to end up selling quickly before it could potentially increase, but if you just hold whatever you have like it is not there you could make a profit, you already have enough money obviously since you bought before and haven't sold yet, compared to buying now which could be undecided if you will need it, hence I think holding could be the perfect approach.

I do not have a lot of alts but those that i have i will keep holding for longterm because i trust my choice and even if bitcoin's move put alts under pressure it will not continue like that for long so no need to worry really just relax because then it will time for alts to move big.

It depends upon which coins you are holding, the top coins in the market rallied alongside BTCitcoin which includes Ethereum, Litecoin and there were a few surprised rally from EOS and Aave and the DeFi market was also having their upswings in both directions, my opinion is to be careful dealing with the DeFi market as i wont be surprised if the hype will die off and the high valued tokens going back to the price they started.

I don't buy bad coins and I know what I buy so if I believe in something, I knew that there's in store for it. Thanks for the tip about cutting losses, I do that if necessary but most of the time I don't.

For me it is about analyzing the chart of a certain altcoin in order to know when to hold or when to sell, right now the bitcoin dominance is continuing to increase so it only means that there are many investors who are cashing out wherein they are transferring their money into bitcoin. Seeing altcoins now it is down is the best opportunity to procure but be wary of the coins you are going to procure though choose those coins that will guarantee a profit. It may not a good season for altcoins but it will come sooner so if you are a smart trader you probably know what to do. Panicking will not do anything good, this will only give an opportunity for whales to procure your holdings. Keep your cool.

for me, if it is a good alt then I would rather not sell it instead holding it just for the time of bull run. Reminders that after the ATH will be recorded all things will go to normal like bitcoin market price drop and many people will go look for altcoin to invest again and see if they ca  earn where other altcoins getting pump up especially the whales that has already convertes their bitcoin to altcoin. I absolutely agree that bitcoin will go down sooner or later, then there will be a correction. But at the expense of altcoins I don't quite agree, today we can see that the whole market is going up, some more, some less, but all are going up. Last time it was clear that people just sold altcoins and bought BTC, which was reflected in the price of altcoins, now the whole market is on the rise, and I think this is a great time to sell your assets, soon in any case there will be a rebound down, and you can re-buy.
