Never stop learning, this is the best principle in life and I would like to share it especially to the newbie who were confused with bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Yes, I admit that I am one also confused when I was new in cryptocurrency but learning is possible by hanging around with the forum. The questions is what are the things that you should keep and learn? Here are some of my experiences that I like to share with you.

Basic things I learn and kept for myself about cryptocurrency!

1. I learn that cryptocurrency is not all about financial gain instead it is a way to financial freedom without the existence of third party service needed nor someone that will meddle or interfere when you make crypto specifically bitcoin transactions.

2. The best way to keep crypto is through offline wallet especially if it involve high amount of crypto stored in the wallet. Hardware wallet are the most common offline wallet used to store crypto like bitcoin and are away from getting hacked online which is rampant nowadays with most likely victims are being phished out with the important wallet details exposed or disclosed in a fake site.

3. Cryptocurrency is the best reserve asset that could beat inflation rate like gold investment. Sooner or later if crypto will be adapted to the community where most central banks are now making their own cryptocurrency. It just mean that cryptocurrency is a great deal towards digital currency.

4. There are many cryptocurrency introduced in the market but all of it are called altcoins. Bitcoin is the primary coin of these altcoins so it might be good to consider having bitcoin rather than the altcoins. However, altcoins can do good as well like bitcoin. Just know what are the good altcoins around that could benefit you in the applications of your daily life activities.

5. The best way to transfer money to another country is through cryptocurrency. It will receive directly to the recipient's wallet if being send correctly. Digital wallet are also being made for easy way access keeping it secured. There are many to chose from and I can even ask here in the forum of the best wallets to chose and the members to recommend.

6. Anonymous is a big key to a better and secure way of doing transactions. There are many bad people anywhere and getting anonymous will not help them noticing the amount and transactions you made. Doing transactions in cryptocurrency will not involve getting identity to the public like in those banks that you need to do KYC. KYC is dangerous to you because it might be use by others not the right way. As much as possible avoid getting into KYC (Know Your Customer). There are few exchanges and wallet appears to be asking for KYC and there are some that are not so chose well the best that suit you the best.

7. Cryptocurrency can change the world of transaction into digital form. This can get us real quick time doing transaction online without the hassle queueing to transact business. If this will be implemented then pretty sure that crowd will be minimize and that will make transactions more reliable, fast and easy.

8. Gambling could be done online using cryptocurrency. There are e-casino already everywhere even here in my place. Gamblers are happy for it to avoid getting a lot of spectators like in those traditional casino having the chips that is visible in the table and spectators will even ask a little for when you win. This can help getting into privacy and gamblers can gamble into the best experience they wanted to with cryptocurrency. There was a news O remember a guy winning huge in the casino that was shot dead while going home getting rob probably one of the spectators that has observe the guy winning lot of money.

9. One of the best gifts that could be given for the upcoming christmas and new year due to the current state of pandemic is financial asset through bitcoin or the altcoins. This we can help minimized the spread of covid19 virus at the same time able to provide smile in the face of the one receiving the gift.

10. The forum is the best forum to learn more about cryptocurrency. Hanging here around with other members with other users will help you to learn more and that you can also freely ask here without paying anyone. Just avoid newbie accounts that do PM and offer something. Remember that if it is too good to be true then avoid it as much as possible. Do not take the scammers bait. Remember also to check the trust ratings of the account for there are higher ranks being tag with Default trust members so being cautious is always the best thing to do.

There are many things to be share and learn especially here in the forum so do not hesitate to learn new things around. We do not know that one of these days that the things you are learning will come handy in the future. Hopefully newcomers can reflect or get some idea of my post.

Thank You!

Just a little correction here: hardware wallets aren't protected from mistakes such as entering your wallet's seed on a website. This mistake costs you no matter where you generated your seed or how you store it.

The thing is, we aren't supposed to use our Bitcoin through websites. We're supposed to use it the default way, which is either through light wallets such as Electrum or through full nodes such as the Bitcoin Core. That's how you ensure that your coins stay in your wallet, under your possession & care without third-party malicious parties such as data-stealing scripts getting involved. HWs don't fix human mistakes.

Cryptocurrency does offer a covert means of transacting and holding funds, but it still needs to be combined with safety practices for it to truly work, otherwise one can still be exposed to such risks. Some people brag about holding bitcoins or having bought them at an earlier period when it was much cheaper, this can give others a rough idea of how much you could have and expose you to attacks, such as the $5 wrench attack. Do not reveal your Bitcoin holdings to the general public, such as on social media.

Also, while staying safe offline one also has to stay safe online;
• Avoid unverified links and unsolicited messages,
• Use an ad blocker,
• Avoid servers that store user information,
• Not your keys, not your coins,
• keep your private keys offline and have a safe back up.

You are right, anything about fiats requires kyc, while governments are the ones regulating it, it is completely centralized, the cryptocurrencies called CBDC that the governments are trying to create now too will be centralized and this type of coins will compromise privacy more than ever, that is why we should specify centralized and decentralized cryptocurrencies. Also know that cryptocurrencies like bitcoin transactions are not anonymous but privacy remains, bitcoin transactions can be tracked on blockchain but using new address for each transaction can increase your privacy, while some coins like zcash, dash and monero transactions are anonymous because they can not be tracked using blockchain.

There is just a fine line between knowledge and learning, very close to them information.

You have to define these three principles, your OP is a clear example of having information and perhaps you are in the process of learning to knowledge.

The knowledge leads him to determine in the depth of his study to understand how things work, it is not necessary to get there with bitcoin but some insist and do not even know how to get the information.

Many believe that reading about something or staying informed is knowledge.

Learning is an orderly process that requires a lot of effort (I just happened to mention it in a similar post) and therefore has limits that allow you to know where you want to go. Those limits grow according to your capacity for knowledge.

Strange as it may seem, those who study a certain topic the most have more doubts than those who are just beginning to receive wisdom on a certain topic.

That's the advantages of bitcoin, its decentralized nature saved us from the government's taxes.

We are safe from other fees due to the fact that we can make transactions whenever we want and we need.

Also being anonymous in cryptocurrency is really essential because it can protect you from getting hacked or scammed. Being a lowkey bitcoin investor is really a good thing in this investment and I learned a lot of things in managing my bitcoin. Hoping that more people will see the importance and how bitcoin can make you grow as an individual when it comes to investment or businesses.

Indeed, knowledge is something where, the more you know, the more aware you are the little you know Huh

Many philosophers have studied the principle, from Socrates to our contemporary. Unfortunately, the speed we're accustomed to in our daily lives, stress and mundane objects and services produced by the consumer society lets us little to no time to learn, or worse, little to no hunger to do it.

If the brain is never full and always hungers for more knowledge, why should you stop learning?
It's like you betraying yourself in this case, your brain. Ome thing you must know is this, almost every part of the body has a way of subjecting it to some physical conditions to keep them all warmed up and functional, like wise most machines tool. Learning through which ever means, be it reading, tutorials, lectures, seminars etc, is an exercise for the brain and it doesn't only betters your mental state but you grow in knowledge. This is why, learning is the core value of this forum and should you choose to learn above all else, your sure to increase.

Learning is very important in every type of business and if you have no knowledge about that particular bussiness that you want to start then it will be difficult for you to run that business successfully.

Learning is part of our daily lives, as time goes by, experience increases, and knowledge increases as well, if you, let yourself explore many things then it would be a great thing for you especially in the future use.

Some things have changed in my life with the help of cryptocurrency, I have learned in cryptocurrency is to invest, as a regular student, I haven't tried so far investing in stocks or any platform because I am not that knowledgeable about it and I don't have interest with I because of thinking that investing is only for the fortunate person and for those who have saved money but now I am that so active on investing a not huge amount of crypto.

Another one is that, before I am a person who doesn't even know how to manage my own money because if there are times that I will have money, I will use it for some of my wats and hobbies, like buying a bike, PS4 and many more, I am doing this thing because I know that I have my parents who are helping me but it was all changed because of cryptocurrency especially when I started earnings here, instead of spending it for some other things, I prefer to save it and invest it.

When you are starting an investment or business, you are not guaranteed successful in just a month or two, know that learning is a process.

Dealing with the situation and getting experiences in that will make you flexible and adapt on the situation.

Learning can make you grow as an individual, not only in cryptocurrency but in all aspects of life so be patient with yourself and do your best to grow.

I agree that learning is an unending process because, in our whole life, we always learn to achieve what we want. Related to cryptocurrency, we need to search for the news and other material that will help us decide related to the current situations in the market. Even if we think that we have high trading skills, we still need to learn more because the crypto market will always change and it will not be the same from this week and next week. If we can learn from many sources and know what to do based on the current situations, that will be our way to make a profit, and our profit will be bigger than before.

But if we think that we are tired to learn, maybe we can take a break for a while and relax to refresh our minds, so when we come back to the crypto world, we can get the new thing that will help us to grow.

Learning is subjected to, learning the the factual information, rather than learning evil, and this has to do with where you learn from, talking about learning is sounding an ancient gong\bell that has been hit before,
Learning about something like crypto-coins can be different my initial first hand info will or may be different, correct or wrong, but in learning if you give a space to be proven wrong on the information you heard before then your learning gets better, learning is not holding on to information even if they are wrong.

11. Where there is money there are also scammers trying to steal them. Especially in the crypto field. Therefore, always do your own research and don't give your private key or seed phase to anyone, especially online.

KYC is a significant threat to our privacy, as it asks for confidential documents that can make you vulnerable to identity fraud. Some exchanges require and implement KYC to ensure the safety of their customers along with their assets. However, fake exchanges exist, and sharing our credentials with them may put our personal identity at risk.

[1] Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless

Thus, as much as possible, try to choose reputable exchanges in making transactions to prevent such problems. Regardless, it is good to see that you focused on learning these things because it will help you in your crypto journey. Keep on learning!

Investment is full of risk it depends on you how you will manage these for me it's better if we never stop learning because every time changes and some of them can help you build up yourself and the future how? it depends on you how will you use it.

In my first year of getting curious about the world of cryptocurrency, I just want to give up because there is a lot of information right there on the internet and some of them are different discussions and terminologies by time goes by I explore more I try to join into a different forum and I encounter to the cryptotalk but the problem is there is no so much information right there instead low-quality posters just want to earn by just having a pay by post and this is not I want, I need information that helps me to ward to make more learning and some of them discuss the bitcointalk and I try to explore and here am I this forum has a lot of different information also in gambling, im a gambler of e-sports too even there is a lot of mistakes still there is progress.

Every time we experience different knowledge, skills, people most of the time we acquire this and gives us information about how it works for the next time.

Of course, it is difficult to disagree with your overall premise, to never stop learning, and likely most people would likely agree with such overall idea - even though surely some people get more stuck in their ways than others and will admit to such - whether built upon solid foundations or more whimsical foundations.

I also agree with many of the ideas that you present in your overall post, even though I believe that there is a lot of problems with any theoretical presentation that fails or refuses to distinguish bitcoin from the concept of cryptocurrency, and surely both of the concepts are related; however, I have found that people who do not adequately figure out ways to distinguish the two concepts and to present their ideas in terms of such distinguishings are likely going to be engaging in fuzzy thinking and fuzzy presentations.

I am not even proclaiming that I necessarily need to agree with where you draw the lines or how you come out on the various questions that would be presented through better distinguishings between bitcoin and "crypto".

Basic things I learn and kept for myself about cryptocurrency!

1. I learn that cryptocurrency is not all about financial gain instead it is a way to financial freedom without the existence of third party service needed nor someone that will meddle or interfere when you make crypto specifically bitcoin transactions.

I largely agree with this point... again.. an ability to figure out and maybe to articulate more clearly how bitcoin might differ from other cryptos might be helpful in honing in a bit better in regards to some potential learning points and why they are learning points (including areas in which more learning might be possible).

Surely, ways to hold or use your bitcoin remains an evolving process in the space, and as you identified, some kinds of storage or use are more security vulnerable than others.  I do not proclaim to be very technically smart in this area, so my experimentation (and therefore likely ongoing learning) continues quite a bit in these areas, too.. including sometimes considering balancing my own time and how much time that I can spend to try different services (including third-party services) and/or wallets, including safeguarding backups or the various ways that backups might differ from one service to another and/or whether using some services puts risk on privacy or security, too..

3. Cryptocurrency is the best reserve asset that could beat inflation rate like gold investment. Sooner or later if crypto will be adapted to the community where most central banks are now making their own cryptocurrency. It just mean that cryptocurrency is a great deal towards digital currency.

Seems to me that ONLY bitcoin has such a claim to being better than gold, even though there are likely a lot of cryptos that are sucking off the security teet of bitcoin in order to continue to exist... and surely several other cryptos are likely to appreciate better than various fiats in the short term.. and maybe even gold.. but I don't see any of them, besides bitcoin, actually being able to really serve as sound money.. at least relative to bitcoin...

Sure, your opinion and conclusions may differ in terms of these kinds of assessments.. but still seems good NOT to get too fuzzy in your thinking in terms of how you consider the various cryptos to be carrying out these kinds of features relative to bitcoin... beyond mere talking-points.

Fair point, here... Again, each of us are likely to come to varying balances of these kinds of matters in terms of how much we might play around with a variety of altcoins (shitcoins) whether for learning or possible short term utility whether that is to attempt to earn more bitcoins or to use them for payments or privacy or some other possible features... considering various trade offs that might come from either holding them or using them, too.

Largely agree here too.. and of course, there is likely some learning through use of such features, including what kinds of coins might be available on both ends of the transaction.. including any risks or ease of getting in and out of such coins on each end.  Surely there are going to be varying experiences in this regard, and I would not proclaim to be very knowledgeable on this point in terms of personal experiences and even my experimentations in this direction.

Surely an evolving topic.. and as you seem to be suggesting, sometimes we might not even realize the tradeoffs that we are making when we do agree to varying kinds of KYC in regards to some or all of our coins.  Surely, bitcoin and even other cryptos provide options in this direction... which are evolving as well as varying ways in which analytical tools are used by governments or private institutions and including changes in recommended better practices to achieve various personal goals, whether short term or longer term.

7. Cryptocurrency can change the world of transaction into digital form.

It already has.. and more is likely on the way.. as you have identified.

This can get us real quick time doing transaction online without the hassle queueing to transact business. If this will be implemented then pretty sure that crowd will be minimize and that will make transactions more reliable, fast and easy.

Sure.. I will agree that some advantages can happen through this.. and surely, not all positives.. but also an evolving area with likely tradeoffs, depending on what each of us might be attempting to achieve.

8. Gambling could be done online using cryptocurrency.

Of course, already being done and evolving too.

Advantages and disadvantages to physicality.. .for sure..

9. One of the best gifts that could be given for the upcoming christmas and new year due to the current state of pandemic is financial asset through bitcoin or the altcoins. This we can help minimized the spread of covid19 virus at the same time able to provide smile in the face of the one receiving the gift.

Sure I would say that bitcoin is a possible gift, and I would avoid giving anyone a shitcoin unless there is some particular reason that someone might already know about such shitcoin or something like that...  but giving bitcoin could at least be an introduction to the concept.. even if some family members or acquaintances may or may not be receptive to such a gift.. so it may or may not be practical in all cases.

Thank You!

I agree that there are a lot of resources on this forum, and I largely agree with your above comment.  Surely, forum members, whether newbies or longer timer forum members can attempt to figure out ways in which the forum can help them to help themselves by reading the ideas of other forum members and interacting.. and surely forum members are going to have different ways of learning in terms of how much they participate or how much they are able to engage in critical thinking - which surely can be helpful to learning whether it is learning from the experiences and information of others or engaging in their own experiences and sometimes choosing the extent to which they want to share such information on this forum or some other forum..

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Regarding the last paragraph of your post, Alucard1, over the years, I have come to learn that there are a variety of particulars that each of us needs to attempt to learn about ourselves and our own situation in order to even reasonably conclude the amount of money that we are able to invest in anything whether bitcoin, cryptocurrencies or other investments that we might make - including considering whether we are investing longterm or short term that might cause us to consider how much time and money we might be willing to put into such investing and/or learning investment strategies.

Furthermore, over the years, I have also come to appreciate that there is a considerable difference between investing in consumption goods/services versus goods/services that are more likely to hold value whether we are talking about investing in yourself in terms of education, investing in a business or investing in assets that are more likely to HOLD or to appreciate in value.  So, if you invest in goods, services and even relationships that are more likely to increase in value, then you would be better off in the medium to longer term, and some folks consider that as a kind of leveraging of the present towards getting greater value in the future.
