Funny, I hope I did it right
I got an error message saying, "Dencryption failed: no integrity protection (MDC)" but was able to force decryption. I could read it, so that's good enough for me. it is rare that it gave you an error, I like this PGP thread, I have been doing tests generate a private and public key for me, I did several tests with my public key and decrypt the PGP without problems More threads like this are needed Thanks for the PGP encryption lesson

Finally done ! I was trying to encrypt message through electrum but eventually failed. So at last I had to download kelopatra for encrypting the message. Here's my encrypted message @OgNasty -----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----

I would be happy if someone could provide a way to encrypt message through Electrum as well.

I’ve never used this before besides verifying Electrum, and kind of played around finding @Ognasty’s certificate on the server beforehand. There are three potential entries there (which does not mean they are really his), so I’m not sure if I’ve used the correct one, since I imported a couple of them. -----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----

I’d just like to know (no merits) if I used the correct one. It seems so, since all valid signed messages contain the same prefix (and using the other imported certificate renders a different prefix). Prefix (first few characters) are the header, and include: pgpdump <ASCII data>
Old: Public-Key Encrypted Session Key Packet(tag 1)(268 bytes) New version(3) Key ID - 0xA338C617DE66E656 Pub alg - RSA Encrypt or Sign(pub 1) RSA m^e mod n(2048 bits) - ... -> m = sym alg(1 byte) + checksum(2 bytes) + PKCS-1 block type 02 New: Symmetrically Encrypted and MDC Packet(tag 18)(98 bytes) Ver 1 Encrypted data [sym alg is specified in pub-key encrypted session key] (plain text + MDC SHA1(20 bytes))
(I’ve used https://www.lirnberger.com/tools/pgpdump/ to see the header info).

You both seem to have made a mistake. I'm getting an error that your messages are for an unknown recipient, which I think most likely means you used your own key to encrypt the message, not mine.

I don't really like using a web-based PGP Key Generator like that, even though it says: iGolder respects your privacy and does not log nor monitors any activity (key creation) done on this web page. I remember when I was a Jr. member learned about PGP/GPG to nullius. If anyone wants additional merit from me (if I still have it), add a message encrypted using my Ed25519 Public key above (mention my Bitcointalk username too, so I get a notification to check it).
@Husna QA, I've done it using the same method created by @mdayonliner. It's pretty easy to import the public key but I doubt there is something wrong since the public key you've given is different which is ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography). I am not sure though, I think reviewing additional resoures would be much better to understand. But anyways, here's my encrypted message. Before I forgot, it seems that your tutorial is translated in our local language however it lacks the Windows OS tutorial part. I wonder if @Asu will going to update his thread. -----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----

Besides, you can still make use of the encryption/decryption function inside the certificate manager (Kleopatra) without checking your public key on a key server.
Asking since I'm pretty bad at analyzing stuffs that I've seen on the internet too. I was hoping you found another way and provide a much clearer guide.

Asking since I'm pretty bad at analyzing stuffs that I've seen on the internet too. I was hoping you found another way and provide a much clearer guide. Just like what @Husna QA said, try changing the default key server in Kleopatra which is the " hkps: //hkps.pool.sks-keyservers.net" to the remaining publicly available key servers. What I have found so far: [1] https://pgp.key-server.io/[2] https://pgp.mit.edu/ (I currently use) [3] https://keyserver.ubuntu.com/Navigate thru Settings --> Configure Kleopatra and paste one of your preferred keys on the textbox and then click "OK". Now if you want to lookup your Public Key on the server. Add the additional "pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x{FINGERPRINT}" to the key server you've pasted earlier in Kleopatra. Here's my public key for example. https://pgp.mit.edu/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x3466CFA83DEBE525F40446E5AC1D3A48A6161C75You can now compare the the OpenPGP Text File (Public Key) you've exported to the server.

My bad, Well I am trying again. Hopefully this time works! I just only wanted to know if I had done it correctly because I had the plan to use this kind of encryption to keep secrets and that can only be open when one wanted to decrypt message.
It worked (although I did receive an error I had to force through) but you didn't include your username in the message.

-snip- Please send me an encrypted message so that I can enjoy decrypting too. To communicate with a PGP encrypted message, you must provide your fingerprint or public key to the person you wish to share. Correct me if I'm wrong but are you not supposed to get my fingerprint from the encrypted message that I already sent you? ...... I actually followed Husna QA's guide from the other thread yesterday but I got the same 502 error when I tried to look it up. Just tried again few minutes ago and it's working now. P.S. It seems we're derailing this topic with our little discussion. Sorry OgNasty. ...... I also followed pawanjain's initiative so I can decrypt the message myself. Correct me if I'm wrong but are you not supposed to get my fingerprint from the encrypted message that I already sent you?
Hopefully this time works and I want to test later on how to decrypt it if I am successful in encrypting message. It was worth a try.
Your messages are one-way communication and are also unsigned. I can read the messages you sent me, but I can't see your fingerprints. So, if you want to practice decrypting messages, other people need to have your public key to send you encrypted messages. You can also practice decrypting messages that you encrypt yourself.
