Purpose of this thread is to announce Circcash cryptocurrency to the public and to allow uncensored discussion about Circcash related topics. This is unofficial thread and will remain un-moderated. UPDATE (Nov 21): Here is an official Circcash announcement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5292018.0;all What is Circcash? Circcash is a fork of Bitcoin using Hashspin as a proof-of-work algorithm. Hashspin is designed to accelerate the development of reversible computing hardware. Hashspin is the only cryptocurrency mining algorithm that is designed to solve an extremely important scientific problem. - 2.0 minute block targets
- 10 CIRCs per block
- No subsidy halving
- Supply increases linearly (to better advance science)
- Mining reward remains constant
- 2016 blocks to retarget difficulty
- 12.5% of newly mined coins will be sent to a development fund. The development fund will be cut off after the following two conditions are BOTH met:
1. The cryptocurrency has been out for four years, and 2. The total number of 'hashes' computed for mining exceeds a threshold.
- Forked from Litecoin v0.8.7.5
The Circcash development team may cut off the 12.5% funding early. The rest is the same as Bitcoin/Litecoin. . . . Note the whitepaper still uses the old name "Zammazazzer". The name of the cryptocurrency has been updated from Zammazazzer to Circcash. The proposed cryptocurrency Zammazazzer is designed to incentivize the development of the reversible computer. Reversible computers will eventually outperform and replace conventional computers everywhere. By Landauer’s principle, reversible computers will eventually become many times more energy efficient than the possible the maximum possible efficiency of an irreversible computer. Since reversible computers will do calculations without producing the immense amount of heat required by conventional computers, reversible computers can potentially run many times faster than conventional computers with much denser parallelism. However, while reversible computers will eventually replace conventional computers, these energy efficient reversible computers do not exist in the free market, and hardware manufacturers are unwilling to make reversible computers in part due to the computational overhead incurred from using reversible algorithms instead of conventional algorithms. The proof-of-work problem for Zammazazzer is designed to incentivize the initial development of the energy efficient reversible computer, and the Zammazazzer Foundation, supported through cryptocurrency coins, shall fund the research, development, and standardization of cryptographic algorithms suitable for reversible computers through the use of smart contracts.
[...]
Each coin shall be called a CIRC which stands for Certificate of Innovation in Reversible Computation.

How to mine on Win ? CPU ? GPU ? I hope no ASIC here ?
Here is the Windows executable related Github issue: https://github.com/jvanname/circcash/issues/4As a temporary workaround, you could install Ubuntu VM on your Windows machine. Circcash is CPU mined currently. It will change as the hashrate goes up. Level 1: Competitive CPU mining (several people are mining Circcash at the same time). Level 2: GPU mining. Level 3: FPGA mining. Level 4: ASIC mining.
Where to get mining software or it's built in wallet ?
Is there a mining tutorial?
Mining software is built into wallet. Instructions are at the end of the installation guide: // After you have opened your Circcash wallet, go to Help-Debug window-Console and then type "setgenerate true" in the textbox to start mining on your personal computer.
And what is the Max Supply ?
There is no hard limit to the number of CIRCs. Approximately 7200 CIRCs are mined per day which means that Circcash's inflation percentage asymptotically trends to 0.

Hello All,
This project sounds very interesting and I want to join it. However I need a native win-qt wallet, I cannot get the code to compile under the new version 2 of the Ubuntu version of Windows. Are there extra instructions for this that I have missed, or has it not been tested on the new version??
Cheers, Waya

If the OP is not in any way connected to the project, what is your gain of dedicating your time to this project? Do you have vested interest on this project?
And do you think you can provide at least some answers to basic questions from users? Though I am seeing that you are already providing some assistance here. But how in depth is your connection here to know the actual developments for this coin?

What's the current network hashrate? I'm currently seeing a network hashrate of 567h/s, which doesn't seem right. The number 567H/s is given since only 1 out of every 65536 attempts are counted towards the 567 H/s. This means that the true hash rate is a more reasonable 37,158,912 H/s.
