On Friday August 15th, 2014 the official development of GiveCoin has been transferred to doabitofgood.com.
We have asked Bittrex to temporarily DISABLE the coinbase while we work regen the wallet and make adjustments to the blockchain reward system, shifting over to a primarily POS based chain and adjusting the KGW parameters.
We felt that this was an important first step versus outright delisting while we work to re-invigorate the community.
In the interest of full disclosure we have steadily acquired a 15% stake in the chain since April, all through open market transactions on Bittrex in order to build up a credible "reserve currency" within our system.
http://explorer.givecoin.info/address/763mwuzDbRkPvKgUDYvs8um8jBHwgrGg7vThis should more than satisfy any concerns regarding the 10% pre-mine the base kicked off with as we have paid for use of GiveCoin as our default intra-site coinbase.
We will be starting a new thread shortly to account for our official rebranding of GiveCoin 2.0 as "2Give"!NEW THREAD STARTED HERE:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741714.0We are VERY optimistic about where we can go with 2Give as we are exploring ways to support merged-mining of other pro-social coins such as Clean Water Coin. The primary idea is that we want to establish 2Give as the Bitcoin of charitable giving while also supporting other pro-social coinbases.
We want to take a moment to thank the original team members for their tireless efforts to launch GiveCoin 1.0:
A shout out to Michael Paszkiewicz, Daniel Korczak, Dylan McGowan and Juno Park (aka Givatoshi) for the generosity of your time and inspiring so many to do a bit of good!
We engaged a crypto-savvy attorney to help us sort through establishing a proper 501.3c that we will transfer development responsibility to once things are stable.
Thank you for your time, patience and support during this transition.
Sincerely,
David V Duccini
Executive Director
