And what a rollercoaster these past 2-3 weeks have been. I'm going to spare you guys your time and tell you right now, I'm not going to rehash Mike's statement but instead take the time and both publicly and formally apologize for having to lower my personal flame on this project for the past bit. Academics got the best of me, and under duress we had an external developer come in and communication began to slip, eventually leading to some rash decisions being made. I apologize for the headaches and heartache, and I will be devoting my time to reviewing everything we have implemented from the top down, going over proposed git-mits, and planning the next steps to solidify our position in the charity ecosystem.

What you will be pleased to hear is that during our developmental downtime, we partnered up with the doabitofgood.com team and are pleased to see our friends and supporters launch their cutting edge screensaver software that seeks to expand the cryptocurrency ecosystem further out than it currently reaches.

Viva la Givecoin.

Same at Europex.
Already asked on twitter to @give_coin, but no answers : https://twitter.com/Europex_/status/474154988290465792
If no nodes are provided, we'll unlist this coin marked as lost coin.

Bittrex currently has GIVE on the removal list for Friday, June 27th.

In order to keep this coin listed please explain any upcoming improvements to the coin that will generate community interest.  We try to keep coins that have community interest.  However, this coin has fallen below an average of .1 BTC Daily volume.  Coins below this threshold have been marked for removal.  We will weigh all information before making our final decision.

Thanks all,

Ryan @ Bittrex

Ryan-

doabitofgood.com has steadily acquired and made a significant investment into this coinbase.  It is the "transactional currency" of our platform and we are in the process of spinning up our integration with PaySimple's API so that we can support our non-profit and pro-social partners ability to allow underwriters the ability to "purchase" the coins which will in turn be re-donated back to other causes.  In this way we will be bringing about a "virtuous giving cycle" in charitable giving.

We are just two weeks into socializing out our plan via Crowdfunding campaign

http://startsomegood.com/doabitofgood

We are working with the team to add in Proof of Stake to the coinbase as well as some research along the lines of the "colorcoin" concepts as we will have the ability to provide evidence of historical valuation on specific coins due to our underwriter activity.

I would humbly ask that Bittrex be patient with the team and to put a 90-day stay in place on GIVE and allow it to continue to trade.  We can jointly re-evaluate our and their progress at that time.  In the mean time, I am happy to backstop some of the valuation and continue to acquire the coinbase to support our need for a healthy reserve.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and the awesome work that Bittrex is doing for ALTS!

Sincerely,

David V Duccini

Hi,

since yesterday im mining GiveCoin (think charity is good in all ways and want to support the coin) but even if after i put the nodes u are giving here and on the front page it is not possible for me to download the blockchain. The wallet get connect and disconnect, i can see it on the symbol, sometimes get one connection and 5 minutes later nothing... also on the pool im mining givecoin.miningpoolhub.com (think is the only one working now from the list on the frontpage) even if i see the reward in coins all the graphics are wrong, they dont show the real info about blocks, shares, etc , etc...i was mining there other coins and was just fine...only with GiveCoin...

Would be nice to have some help, would like to take the coins out of the pool Wink

Thanks for the hard work... and keep it like that

Well this is obviously deader than dead...

Hardly.  It's summer and there is a lot of work going on in the background to add in support for POS which is a much better model (IMHO) for the mindset of this blockchain.

doabitofgood.com is putting in the infrastructure with a licensed payment processor gateway to allow people to act as "underwriters" for charitable giving organizations by allowing them to bid and buy their coins, which in turn they can donate to other causes that they care about.  We're also slowly acquiring GIVE to build our reserves and to take the coins out of circulation.

In this way, we will be creating a "virtuous cycle" in charitable giving!

What is NOT clear at this point is what kind of preferential tax treatment one might enjoy from this kind of transaction set.  It's akin to a "silent auction" that many charities hold today.  Let's say you buy a piece of artwork or kitcsh/schwag thing that had been donated to the charity.  That donor gets a tax break.  You get a tax break by acquiring because you've just given money to a charitable cause.  You will also likely get another tax-break when you gift the item to another cause.

Our goals are to create a long term value in this blockchain for pro-social causes.  To build value in the coinbase by linking the historical exchange activity of the coins so that some coins may be worth more than others (aka "colorcoins").

We're also strongly investing into ClearWaterCoin as well for the same reasons.

So if you're into GIVE for a quick buck, you probably want to point your miners elsewhere.

Sorry I wasn't offending the coin, the coin is actually cool and original. What I do hate is a wallet that doesn't sync. Let's say I had GIVE's in my wallet and wanted to donate I couldn't because it doesn't sync.

And for the record I won't be nor richer nor poorer if I donate a couple of Euros. Just GIVE me a working wallet.  Grin Get it?

Couldn't resist.

LOL -- GIVE it another chance ;-)

If you're looking for a solid "system of record" consider ADDNODE ing us to your config.

http://www.reddit.com/r/DoABitOfGood/comments/27s69p/dobitofgoodcom_givecoin_public_peering_node_online/

We are in the process of spinning up a second blockchain explorer on our infrastructure as we are committed to this coin for the long haul.

As for wealth from the coin -- I hope you can take credit for your generosity -- and maybe get a tax-advantaged receipt for it in the process ;-)
