I also feel that the altcoin season is not going to be like in 2017. However, right now the price of bitcoin is really dominating, and when the price goes down altcoin prices will really dump. in fact, dumps occur in 90% of all altcoins. if there is a large increase, it is likely that it will only be an individual increase.

We already saw Bitcoin rising very high before the end of the year. And altcoins have not experienced the same increase as bitcoin, and even considering the current market conditions. Bitcoin is experiencing another correction and of course altcoins will experience the impact of the decline in bitcoin.

I only trust top coins these days because they're the ones who follow the Bitcoin trend. I'm sure that those coins with a firm foundation would continue to boom when the altcoin season happens. It's hard for me to trust new coins these days because most of them usually end up the same way.

Bitcoin will always be the first to have its bullrun and then the altcoins are just sort of the fall back when investors see that they need to put their investment to an altcoin that they think will also be adopted.  BTC will first to break the $20k and then up to $25k I guess before we can see some altcoins to get much returns.  Not sure if its going to happen next year either but its good to see people are hopeful for it.

Is there a possibility that only bitcoin will remain bullish this year? Can altcoin season be left out? The reason why I'm asking is some are already doubting, what if only very few altcoins grows higher in value and things failed to go the same way as that of 2017? What's your answer?
No one knows.
Bitcoin's price is unstable, but most likely we'll get correction like what's happening right now actually where it fell back from 19k to 17.9k as of writing this reply.
For altcoin season, we never know as well. Too many shitcoins to think if altcoins could still bound to exist one day.

Probably yes, but not entirely. There are some coins will be bullish like how bitcoin is doing but the exception will be new projects in my opinion which was overboomed in 2017 which is unlikely to happen in 2020 bullish trend.

the possibility is still there as long as you hold the top altcoins in the market especially like Ethereum, Binance, EOs, Litecoin, Polkadot, Xrp most of them still have a chance to increase their price even higher than the current price. moreover knowing that BTC has pumped in over $ 18k I believe that this could affect the prices of other top altcoins as well.

Forecasts are just a guess. No one could have predicted that bitcoin, let alone altcoins, would show such dynamics. According to statistics, such cycles occur every four years. This may indicate that an equally exciting cryptocurrency race is waiting for us in 2021. 2021 will be an interesting year.

I assume that after repeated attempts to set the price of bitcoin above 20 thousand dollars, its price can be adjusted and this will lead to the beginning of the altcoin season. Most of the top altcoins have great potential to reach their ATH, but whether the altcoin season will be as long as you write, will still depend on bitcoin.

Does it mean that anytime that Bitcoin is bullish that most Altcoins go bearish. Most a times we see it happen that BTC pumping leads to altcoins dumping and I begin to ask why?

My best bet remains on bitcoin, I knew things will drastically change in the next bull season and right now I believe I'm right, bitcoin reach 20k on binance weeks ago and major altcoins only brings up to 30% gains, that's it? In 2017 when bitcoin hit 19-20k altcoins start pumping so madly now things aren't the same anymore, maybe bitcoin needs to go higher than 20k to see another altcoin season?

it is safer to buy altcoins that are already well-known and have top ranking than new coins, because new coins only run for a few months, if they already get a lot of profit, they will run away with investors' money, this often happens with projects new one

Almost all of top-ranking altcoins were low-ranking altcoins in the past and made good profits for early adopters. Investing in altcoins and tokens is quite similar to VC investments. You should understand project goals and why it can succeed and don't put all eggs in one basket of course.

it was very good that you mentioned it. because until a few weeks ago I was thinking about it. Altcoins are a long way from reaching their ATH in relation to bitcoin and in US dollars

for example:

ETH managed to reach over $1200 when the price and bitcoin was $19000, today the price of bitcoin is at $19000 and the price of ETH is at $580

and has altcoins that the case is much worse. for example:

Bitcoin cash has reached more than $3500 and today is less than $280

Neo reached $150, today it's $18

It is clear that altcoins will not have the same price as the past

You should keep in mind that there was blockchain bloating problem with BTC at that time, fees were very high, so a lot of new people went to altcoins because of that. They were cheaper (more affordable for newcomers) and faster. I believe the same reason will lead people from Ethereum to TRON. And it can happen again with BTC as well.

Altcoin season may still happen, but not for all altcoins. only a few top coins may have the opportunity to hit the price like at the end of 2017, maybe only the top 20 or top 30. that is because investors are no longer investing in projects carelessly and they are better off playing it safe with top coins

i think in 2017 everybody bought altcoins. people with knowledges and without them. and people without knowleges was much more that people with education. now in cryptomarket pool of traders and investors much more than random people. plus many of us have except that experience.

I agree that only a small amount of altcoins will grow in the upcoming altseason, most likely from the top 100. But the alt season must be mandatory, because after the release of money from bitcoin, they have nowhere else to pour, except in altcoins.

The bull run is not yet done and the price of Bitcoin still holds at $19k well let's assume that anytime the price of the altcoins will increase too. As far as I've know it's not literally going to happen if yes it might be a coincidence. Well the price of other alt such as Ethereum and Ripple is soaring too.

That is the thing that I noticed last time. Likewise bitcoin will be the first to rise and will be followed with an illustrative development of altcoin ventures. Obviously these altcoins are those significant ones and possible one. I feel that you should watch the relationship amongst altcoin and bitcoin once more. In the event that you are seeing it accurately and you will know the development that will make by the bitcoin brokers after the dealers have finished with the bitcoin siphon.

Generally all focus remain on Bitcoin, however some alts also will move high. This season might not happen like the 2017 where some junks alts gained massive growth. This time will be strictly for value alts that's is promising and Bitcoin.

Of course we won't see the same growth from other coins that we have seen in the past but I think that this is even for the better, because now projects that will be worthy will grow and not as before that pumped up and then flew to the bottom even more than it cost before.

It’s unpredictable, bitcoin is expected to reach a really high price in 2021. Alts ride on the back of bitcoin if we’re honest so we might see a big alt season but maybe after bitcoin hits its next big peak & then begins to correct. Possibly we see bitcoin hit over $50,000 per coin in late 2021 & a massive alt rally in early 2022.
