The possibility of a global war among countries is on the verge to happen. Have you heard of countries recently who are "fighting" for possessions and whereabouts? Small arguments could trigger a huge one if things will not be properly handled. Going back with the existence of this technology, I think it will exist forever as long as no one will have the power to delete it, literally. It depends on how you define "live", remember that in this industry, there are cryptos considered to be "dead" from not being used. I think cryptocurrency will continue to live even though it is in the middle of World War 3. The reason is that cryptocurrency is the currency of the future globally. When the country is at war, the value of assets and the stock market will decrease. to save the value of these assets, investors will turn to cryptocurrencies and gold. so that cryptocurrency will continue to live.

There is no assurance, everything here in this world changes. Maybe cryptocurrency lasts too long but we can't say that it lives forever. The beginning of WW3 may dismantle cryptocurrency. Before Bitcoins I was using Liberty Reserve and I was so glad that a payment processor exists that can be used without any verification and limits. I also think that as long as there is internet and electricity there will always be Bitcoin, but if there is a world war when there is no world war then what will soar in the market is gold and bitcoin. Yes, I absolutely agree that the presence of electricity and the Internet allow bitcoin to exist. another question is the degree of distribution and whether there will be a situation when the popularity of cryptocurrencies and bitcoin will decline accordingly and investors will find a new source for games. I think crypto will not die, but it will evolve over time and eventually Bitcoin might get replaced by something better. The fact that bitcoin is limited to 21 million coins and small amounts will constantly be lost over time (due to abandonment by owners for a variety of reasons) will cause too much restriction. Crypto will on forever and some might say the crypto will be future that will used on a widescale like fiat money and can used a payment to every transaction we do everyday.
I agree that only the most well known and most valuable cryptos will be used and most of the new ones and lesser valuable crypto will vanish or even won't be used or adopted globally. Cryptos will live for a pretty long time.

First, you have the lindy effect going for it -- it's already been around for 12 years, so its easy for it to rack up another decade or two.  This is especially true considering that crypto hasn't even hit it's peak yet.

If organized governments do well, then Crypto will do well do because more larger actors (gov't, companies) will find uses for crypto.  If organized governments don't do well, crypto will be the last refuge of value.

Strongly agree with this. Been talking about crypto currencies in my class in the past month and they've been asking me what it is. The time I told them about bitcoin, they knew about it and immediately told me that some of them we're scammed by it. It turns out that they are scammed by investments told that they are investing in bitcoin then ran their money not directly bitcoin.

Bitcoin do have its own flaws but can really be handled out even if Segwit and LN doesn't really get that much of recognition but still their existence is relevant.

If you do really hate up high fees then you can freely switch up to altcoins which does have lesser and much faster when it comes to confirmation times.
