I assume Avalanche will not be able to kill Ethereum but it will be more like a chain that could support Ethereum even though it creates new smart contracts. Not atall, even if any altcoins will kill ethereum any time soon, it can't be Avalanche, I don't see any altcoins killing ethereum for now. Ethereum will still stay at the top of all other altcoins.

I have heard this statement before for many projects and all those projects are still tiny as compared to ethereum so even if eth network has its issues and problems still it is the top and the preferred network by the market which make it the best.

I have the same sentiments here on this matter. Because they need to prove something first before thinking that they can compete with the popular platform used by many developers. Too early to speculate on this subject. Though Avalanche team seems to be solid, still their potential is yet to be uncovered.

Existing, successful cryptocurrencies have a number of advantages. First they already have a user base and people are lazy. To dump one good coin to get the other they'd have to see the second one beating the first one but how is that going to happen without thousands of investors ready to take a risk?

Also existing cryptos have a brand. Avalanche doesn't have one yet and will need years to build it.

Why avalanche has to be ethereum killer to succeed, it should only look to be avalanche first and prove their utility and worth in the market, such statements are just for seeking attention and have no backing and truth in my honest opinion. I want Avalanche to succeed alongwith Ethereum in a positive manner.

I think it's not that easy to say that somthing/someone can kill ethereum. He has to kill all the projects developped with ethereum

Ethereum was built since 2016 and still under developement with a strong team (one of the best ever) and a large community. Avalanche looks promising but it needs few years of experience to show how strong and solid it is and make it easy for Eth Dapps to migrate to Avalanche. It should be a long journey.

Too many projects aiming to be the ethereum killer. Ethereum has the network effect just like bitcoin.  
For technical superiority it is not easy to say. Some of the most technically promising designs many have not heard of.
For example there are projects not even in the top 400 that have developers that are as gifted as dan or eth team.  Both Bitbay (first smart contract design) and blacknet ( pos3 developer) are promising and brilliant projects. Blacknet is entirely new approach. Bitbay uses an older consensus mechanism pos3 but has plans for a hybrid design that is more decentralized than dpos but also very fast.
Cardano many said was the most technically brilliant design with the strongest team.

All of these projects are probably not ethereum killers but could be if they got the network effect behind them.
They can all be very successful without being eth killers.
Ethereum is a beast. Bitbay is a very elegant and simple design which if used as a base to build on top off could be vastly more efficient for certain tasks.
Blacknet I have not studied. But I noted the dev mentioned he thought it could improve upon eos.
That developer is not known for exaggerating and his pos3 design was the base most developers ( borrowed) for their projects for years here. You have to study this forum back to 2012 really to really study which developers have created original work that was highly effective.

The vast majority of projects are marketing hype and have no talent to implement many of their technobable.
The sad part is most amateur investors fall for the marketing hype time and time again.
Avalanche sounds impressive.  This means nothing. If you look back through the history there have been many bitcoin and ethereum killers.  I dont expect it to be an ethereum killer.

polka dots are often talked about, but I myself am not sure they will be able to shift or even move ethereum. I see now that ethereum has the best position among other altcoins and will not be easily killed by anything

You can pretty much say that to every project if that's your belief BUT that doesn't mean anything at all, Avalanche is just one of those coins. I've never even heard of Avalanche at all.

POLKADOT was doing the same like avax. AVAX ether bridge just like a crosschain. I remember polkadot was offering the same feature like avax and DOT gives the opportunity for the projects that used ethereum's insfrastructure to use polka but the result was not so good. So many projects are still prefering to use ERC20 as their tokenization. AVAX will have the same result as DOT.
So many news assets are issued on ether chain. No more ethereum killer. ethereum killer is dead

I invested in Avalanche once i saw the team behind the project, they are blockchain experts and they've been around before Ethereum and even bitcoin, when I saw this I knew this is exactly what  looking for, a new project with professional teams and I don't regret investing on this project, Avalanche is a new project, how ever it's future is going to be it's never going to catch up with ethereum just like that, for ethereum it's been a long time coming.

i dont know why im thinking of a real avalanche after reading the title , silly me but i remember that were was really a project called avalanche before .

afaik that was also a good project with full potentials and still relevant till now as i still see some threads of it on this forum but avalanche was not that lively as before . in conclusion , that coin cant kill etherium  . there were now many new released coins after avalanche and are also have a better potentials but eth was still standing strong to re claimed its position  .

I don't think so, Ethereum is different and it's old, it will take many years for any new smart contract project to get to where Ethereum is today, even both Polkadot and Avalanche combined can't kill ethereum right now, as good as Bitcoincash is for payment solution and faster transaction speed why can't BCH killed Bitcoin till date?

I've been following Avalanche for a very long time, almost from their inception. This project really has prospects of becoming an Ethereum killer, but even if not, it will at least stand next to it.
