I have friends that were miners they have all quit and it’s because they can’t afford to continue their mining work, and some of them were because their equipment is already out of date instead of going for a new one and knowing the level of expenses they will be facing with it, they just quit and invest money in better projects.

You've made the smart choice, I was forced to sold my miners (GPU) few months ago because they are less profitable, buying altcoins and holding them is more easier than mining, if you want something that can be giving you money in every 24hrs you can learn how to do day trading, when you earn up to 10 or 20$ you can quit for another day

Self decision won't allow you to regret whatever mistake that you may done, else, it will brings good impact to do more deeper research

I believe that you have thought well over this decision before you took it, and you were convinced that it's the best option available to you. You don't have to doubt that, I hope it turns out well. You just have to study the market trend to ensure that you flip your altcoins at good price and re-invest again. Rinse and repeat cos BTC can spoil the best strategy if it goes bearish.

I don't have mining equipments or even experience mining before but I think if I am still earning profit from it then it would be a waste to give up on it.

Same with me, I have never been interested in mining, besides the equipment is expensive, it also requires sufficient electricity besides for daily needs and my place only has little power. I prefer to buy coins on exchangers and indeed I am more interested in some POW coins than ERC20 tokens

Well, the real problem with mining is, you also need to upgrade the mining equipment you have so you can make enough money. Honestly speaking, mining alone would be quite a pain. however, I will probably do the same, namely, sell my mining equipment and look for alternatives.

I think everyone chose an own way, somebody choose fast profit which is less and somebody can wait a little and get much more money. I also think alt season will happen sooner or later and I heard a few times idea, that now is the stage when we need to accumulate tokens, not dollars nor other fiat. This method let you become rich if you wait a little.

My strategy is to save 50% of tokens which I receive and convert remaining 50% into fiat

if compared with another investment , mining really need high spending especially for mining equipment . we know based on graphic card demand its make price be more expensive now and also upgrading tools regularly need to make our income still competitve to earn profits.

I also feel that you made the correct decision by selling your mining rigs. Mining is not that profitable as it used to be in early days. But who knows... Everything can be changed within a quick time. Mining does not have to be in large amounts, but in small amounts it can also, like mining Ethereum Classic by buying some RDP every month, just use a normal PC, everything will work as usual, this is something that has already been done I try.

Mining is officially over, the only way to survive well with mining is by mining btc for almost 3 years, accumulate it and only take profit in 4th year when btc booms and reaches a new peak otherwise even btc mining will not yield you any profit at market price.
