They are basically a large group of people on discord like this one : https://discord.gg/ugkkmfEQKU
And they basically decide on an altcoin to pump and they all buy at the same time and then sell for double and make profits...
I watched a whole pump and people were making a lot of money lol what's the catch ?

You shouldn't believe on such things especially if this is came from the group on Discord and Telegram.
This is mostly a trap for the investors. I've seen this many times in different channels in the Telegram where before
they've use the name of the Bithumb then in the end it's only a scams. So, be careful on this group anyway and be wise
as well.

Shilling groups are unhealthy for everyone; either you are a newbie trader or a professional trader. Likewise; all tokens pump and dump; but if you name it just that then it doesn;t align well with natural phenomenons. Bitcoin prices alongside altcoins do follow fundamentals; so if you trade market with full knowledge; you won't have any problem trading and taking profits.

These are just trash groups in this crypto market, all of them are their scams. Think about it, with junk tokens, who wants to buy?
These coin pump signals are scams for newbies. The strategy is that the whales will buy tokens in advance at a lowest price and then they will urge people to buy before the price pumps. In fact, the people who listen to the signal and buy are the ones who push the price of the token up and whales will be spoiled for selling tokens at a high price
My advice is to stay away from these types of signal groups, they are not responsible for your losses.

I advise you not to believe too much in groups like that because usually the owner of that group will buy earlier than their followers and the problem is if you buy coins that are not very potential, such as not having trading volume because it can make you lose and stuck at high prices.

of course, they just seem to convey signals for buying and selling. but I guess they just aim to make a pump and a good enough adoption for their selling price and then run away. if what they are promoting is a top market coin, I think it still makes sense to follow their signal. but when it was just a new token with a weak market, I thought it was too risky to join such a group.

After they've got the bagholds they will simply create artificial movements, letting traders to notice such actions. Those pump groups are good

playing with emotional traders, most of the time greed and newbie trader are victims of this so called tipsters, some for free and other's collect

money from members who wanted to use their service, be very careful much better to work with you knowledge take time to develop your skills.

OMG, run for your dear life bro, it's complete scam, this was my first loss in crypto space, I had no one to guide me or warned me back in 2017, I lost over 700$ to such group, it's all trick, you won't be able to get your order filled because many people will be rushing the available buy orders, you will end up selling for lower price that's if you get lucky before massive dump

The pump group owners are the ones that will benefit because they have already place high orders for the token on trading exchange, they are just looking for people that will pump the token at their call, be smart and invest on top altcoins instead, there is no short cut to making money, you have to work hard to become successful

Those who buy immediately the call for buy is made makes money. It is not only those who own the channels that make money. I have read of someone on facebook who makes alot of money through this. He calls for buy in his restricted group and price moves up. Sometimes price goes up above 500% from his picture.

It is a scam. Common sense tells you it works, because it could work if people were honest, but they are not...

- By the time you receive the message pointing out the coin to pump, they are already selling what they bought in the past few days.
- Sometimes they buy in the moment, but sell intermediately.
- Sometimes you can profit by doing the same they do (buy fast, sell inmediately).
- Looks like they work with small investments, the profit they get is not because of volume they buy, but from the price difference.
- If they pump/buy too much they end up being victims of their own scheme (depending of group size and people who joins to the pumping session). I even saw a group owner raging because nobody followed him.
- If you fail, you either keep the trash coins you bought or resell them cheaper.

Even understanding what they do and joining with a few dollars, it is not that easy to make any profit at all, I lost close to 25 dollars by experimenting with these groups.

The catch is if your sell order didn't make it in time then you just gave out your money to the group.
They are using their member to buy it and pump the price to gain profit and if their member couldn't sell it on time then it is their lost.
The one who is giving signals are the one who is making the highest profit since they already invested on it before theyeven announce it.

If they can buy at a lower price, yes, they are making money. But for them who don't buy any coins when the price is down will regret it, especially if the altcoin price can increase because of the pumps that come to the market. But to make a profit from the pumps and dumps group will not easy since you need to have money to buy instant, and calculating fast how far you will make a profit from those groups.

I know you’re in a hurry to make some money, but why not look for other means? The link of the Discord you posted what proof do you have that they work and what makes you think so, have you used it before to know exactly whether it works or not? (Unless you’re the one behind the discord group and you’re just trying to promote the group here).

Stay clear from all these pump and dump groups (aka PnD’s) they are a plague that should be seriously avoided or else you will surely end up regretting it. You should DYOR online and you will get to see what I’m trying to say. Maybe you should look for speculation groups instead.

Totally agree, I think it's too obvious and it's clear that the owner of the group is the one who benefits the most. if you want to be safe, invest in top coins or at least in high quality projects with clear development, from which you can differentiate the profit you will get

but why did you say lol. i dont think that was funny but that was a sick strat to earn easy money but it can be offensive to some too that invest and trade in a fair way because they are affected with it .
pump and dump group can be easy as it sounds but what if you joined a group with full of fake people and you didnt know it .
 you ended up buying a huge volume that they recomend but no other people buy it except you .

you can gain nothing with it but the coin creator can only get rich with that .

The possibilities are there that they can do such thing but the question is How sure they are to bag money if no one ride in their traps?
and besides This is an old tricks that i believe people here don't fall ,As those past incident teach them to get away from these groups.
If you are thinking of investing?please don't because even of they are legit yet that is cheating and of course you don't want to fed your family from the money that came from the victims?
And also you might loss in this if you did not catch the timing so please don't.

Pumps and dumps on altcoins are basically whale-controlled, so don't be surprised if one day you see tokens that don't have the potential to experience massive pumping and tokens that look like they have the potential to experience severe dumps. it is not only market influence but the influence of the great whale is real and proven

That's a scam. Can you guarantee the late pumpers will also be profitable? the majority of early pumpers will become the party who can take the advantage from the late pumpers.
You should not fall to this scam scheme. The creator of such group will be always getting profit from his members.
Imagine when you are as an owner of such group and you were pumping A coin and then you told your members to pump it after you and you can go out from there.

This is exactly what happens when the group receives a buy signal, the pump organizers start selling their coins, making a big profit. Some group members who joined the pump in a timely manner can make a small profit by selling their coins to those who opened the deal later.
