SCAM

Bounty hunters got cheated again, actually is this ever going to stop? Do you guys remember OLPORTAL? Bounty hunters are asked to drop ETH address to get tokens and they end up forcing bounty hunters to go and download OLCF wallet and import recovery seed to receive tokens, how did they cheat? Their shit OLCF wallet only accepts Recovery seed only, leaving out those with private keys, you can only import if you are using mycelium or others like it but for those using multi wallet like Coinomi we are out of luck, the team just ignore others like that.
There is nothing anyone can do about it, maybe that's why bounty hunters are even getting cheated from time to time, this crypto space is a free zone for all kind of activities, scam, hacks and cheats knows no boundaries on here, just accept your defect this time and move on, this isn't the end of the road, some projects still cares about bounty hunters and they will keep their promises

it is often happen to us and not be the first time since many bounty campaign launched. scammers know how to cheat us and they could ask us to do something meanwhile its useless. but we should not give up with this condition , as you said there are alot campaign that still fullfiled their promises to bounty hunter

That is part of bounty hunting, I've been into several projects where I spent weeks or sometimes months promoting projects and end up being scammed or unpaid. It's part of the risk. This risk can be reduced if you will review the project, the terms of bounty, and conditions before joining. If you think it is sketchy, and not comfortable with the terms and conditions, don't join.
unfortunately bounty hunter didnt read the rules carefully , and complaining about their work meanwhile its broke the rules. sometimes mistake come from our side.

2nd time or 3rd?
When this happens I just ignore them.
I don't want any more headaches just keeping track of what will happen which in the end is always a bad ending.
Save yourself some trouble of doing so and just move on.
Let this be another lesson that will be listed in your experience diary.  Grin

I would advise everyone not yield to thier demand in order to send out tokens to those who support their promotion. That's something silly to ask someone for private keys on anon trusted app.
You guys can as well create new wallet address, import the keys on the wallet, send Ether to the wallet as gas fee once everyone receives the token and send them to exchange or in your own personal wallet. ( I doubt if they would accept the condition)

Is it your first time being a victim of a scam? If so, it's only natural that you will be very shocked when you fall victim to a scam in the bounty program. Being a bounty hunter must be prepared to face a scam like this. There is no need to fully expect the rewards given by the bounty program because you will be very disappointed if the bounty program that you join ends in a scam.

Their campaign and their rules. This is the big risk when participated in the bounty campaign. The reward is being controlled by the developers and when they were putting the new rules for the participants and it could become the worst thing for the hunters because there will be so many hunters can't claim their reward.
This is not a new thing but this problem will never end for sure. It seems like the team has tried various ways to avoid the hunters.

Wapinter is the bounty manager that introduced this OLPORTAL, I'm surprised the end result was like this honestly, I had a high respect for wapinter among other bounty managers in this space, I'm confused why Olportal team decide to cheat bounty hunters this way, is the bounty manager aware? That won't even make a difference, what can the bounty manager do in this situation? Nothing I guess

Not really a surprise to most of the hunters at all.
I have been around the forum for more than 3 years and heard so many hunters posting about scam bounties or not getting paid.
Don't worry we know that this wouldn't be the last there are many more scam projects to be created in the future.

Lesson to learn on it is to avoid joining any bounty asking for the unusual. Like the above, if it is clearly stated while the bounty started to run , just choose to ignore it. You can also stop along the way if news on additional requirements is/are introduced.

Avoid joining bounty with unknown managers.
Avoid joining bounty with managers who have only produced shit tokens that keeps falling after distribution. They have not proved their worth and they won't be able to do that.
Avoid bounty managers that have been tagged for bounty issues.

Bounty needs to be cleaned up and until then, be careful to join.

This scam is not going to end at this, they probably take the logs of your recovery seeds and can steal your digital assets if you have anything left in it, and it's clear that this attitude is a pure sign of a scam. You can get their reputation at stake by creating scam accusations against them which is more appropriate to do now than educating people about their existence.

I don't join OLPORTAL Airdrop, but I take some important points from your explanation, if the project asks participant to submit recovery seeds I categorize the project as a scam.  I didn't find anything promising about this project especially they listed OLCF on a scam exchange (Coinsbit).  If you have valuable assets in your old wallet, I hope you must immediately transfer to a new wallet to avoid things that we don't want.

And that's little!

I know projects that even ask you for ETH to receive payments.

And the tokens have no market!

I think the best way is to report these guys, but nevertheless they wear masks online.

I leave you an article about the most scammers of crypto in history: https://es.beincrypto.com/conoce-6-cripto-estafas-mas-grandes-historia-hasta-2020/

What a BS, That's basically scamming. They are basically forcing the bounty hunters to send eth and hunters can't avoid it since their hard work will be in vain if they don't send the amount.

But even if they got their tokens, will there be a value in the market? I don't think it is a smart move to compromise your account with worthless tokens. Also, it is better for the OP to create a scam accusation thread so people will know this kind of project. As others have already mentioned, if they are asking for your private keys, doubt the motive of the project. A legit one will never ask your private keys.

I didn't take part in the bounty or try their wallet, and I didn't have time to try it so i don't know exactly what is the real problem here. Is this from the project, or it just from you, because don't know how to use it

But to say that project scam you should make strong proof and I think your proof is not strong. let's say that this project is scam, you are a bounty hunter, and you have to be prepared for anything including scammed by a project

We can see a lot of projects that are created to cheat bounty hunters, that has become normal in the crypto space, if we are not careful of choosing a project to support, this forum will be file up with scam accusations. I would like to say move on although you are cheated again, eventually you'll be able to find a good project and learn from that experience to help you mature as a bounty hunter.

How much were their offering? It looks like you were hunting for some great value in tokens. This crappy OLCF is worth 0,0007 USD per coin and is getting lower by the day. Proably those who were able to claim are getting rid of it and buying something more valuable.

Those were some smart devs. They knew by allowing only seeds and not private keys to be redeemed they'll get rid of some of the hunters and keep some coins in their pockets while at the same time satisfying enough people for the airdrop not to be called a scam. At least not loud enough.

To keep your wallet safe all the essentials that are needed to be kept by yourself should not be disclose. Clearly that platform is a phishing platform. There is no free money right now unless you are doing promotional activities that will get you rewards. In this case being cautious is always and first thing to do if you do not want to lose your money.

Lastly, keeping all members here in the forum to be aware is good and hopefully every scam that happen here should be shared to keep us being aware of the scammers activities.

It looks like it's too much but it won't stop as long as there will be bounty projects who are keep on looking for participants. It's the essence of the bounty, they pay you with tokens or ask you to download something such as an app forcefully as a requirement for the reward.
I wouldn't do such and if something like that happens at the middle of the bounty, I wouldn't care anymore with the reward or stakes that were counted for me as long as it's already been there. Choose the bounties you participate that won't do the same thing. Importing your private keys to an unknown wallet? it's already a redflag.
