I have noticed this as well, since the clubs are the ones paying them the players have the tendency to not do as well in their national teams, especially when we add they do not have too much time to train with other players and their styles may not match, however when it comes to the world cup things change, even if a team does not have any chance to be the winner of the world cup they still play with everything they have, as not only they are representing themselves but their nation and they want to leave the best impression they can to the fans of their country.

I think this is a wrong analogy, actually the difference between playing club and international is not because they are unprofessional or because the club pays them a very large salary, nor as you say, age and end of career factors are irrelevant in this assessment.

I don't agree with you, because I think footballers will do everything in their power to play both for the club and for the national team, the reason many players are playing well in the league is not because of the salary they get from the club, but many of them continue to perform well in order can to join the national team, maybe the club does provide all the needs needed by the players but  the pride and patriotism to play for the country cannot be measured by money and I think if there are players who are able to contribute greatly to bringing their country to world cup champions then it will be become the greatest pride in his football career later better than the achievement of the trophy he got while playing at the club.

I don’t know which particular player’s made you think that, because each and every player I know gives their 100% while playing in important international matches. Furthermore look at Bale who was playing at Real Madrid, but he yet decided to prioritise Wales over the club and that shows how much player’s love playing for their countries.

I don't think that England has any chances this time. Historically, their performance in world cup has been below the expectations. They have some of the best players in the world, but team cohesion and bonding is lacking. And the same can be said about some of the other UEFA teams, such as Germany and France. And that is where the Latin American teams (Brazil and Argentina) are having an advantage. Italy is one of the European sides with good team bonding. But as we know, they failed to qualify this time.
