Qatar is not strong enough to compete with big teams in the fifa world cup , Qatar hosting game will increase their performance in the game and will also  make them to perform better than in past. The  world cup will boost Qatar performance.

I also heard about this a few days ago but I did not read further about it because for sure as you said India has violated Articles 13 and 17 of the FIFA Statute which says about no intervention from other parties in any form of decision making except the local government and India violates it then sanctions are definitely there. Currently, it is just a matter of waiting for India to address this as the sanctions will be lifted when the third party intervention against AIFF can be overcome.

OK.. this is new information for me. I didn't knew that Qatar are the Asian champions. I checked the stats and found out that they defeated Japan (1-3) to lift the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. And before that they defeated the United Arab Emirates in the semi-finals by a margin of 4-0. Won against South Korea 1-0 in the QF stage as well. These are some of the strongest teams in Asia. If Qatar can win against these teams, then it means that they are not as weak as we have thought. Looking at the results, I believe that they have a good chance against Senegal, and to some degree against Ecuador as well.

I must admit that Qatar's football development has progressed quite significantly, they played well in the Asian tournament as well as in the Arab Cup competition, and Qatar is the champion of the AFC ASIAN CUP 2019, Qatar can overthrow Japan with a landslide score of 1-3.

Nevertheless, Qatar's chances of qualifying from the preliminary group stage are not easy. I'm not sure they can overthrow Senegal let alone the Netherlands.

Apart from this World Cup recently Qatar is doing good job for development of soccer because here government and few other soccer lovers invested good amount in clubs even few months back Xavi was also doing his duty as coach in a club with this you can imagine how they are serious and what they can do, but it's not easy job for any country it's going to take some time, and then they can do much better than current quality level.

Few other Middle East countries are also investing good amount for development of soccer like Saudi Arab and UAE which is good hopefully in next 10 to 15 years we can watch much improved these Asian teams specially from the Middle East could be neck to neck with Korea and Japan in quality because they can achieve these targets.

The main idea comes from the fact that Qatar wasn't ranked 49th and they were MUCH lower back in the day, I do not remember where but I wouldn't be shocked if I learn that one point they were 100+ ranked. So that means because they got much better, maybe twice as good as they used to be, or even better, that made people from Qatar or others have some sort of trust in them.

Doesn't mean that we would have to see something like that in the long run, doesn't mean they will beat Ecuador or Senegal, they will most probably lose, I would be willing to wager against them easily, but people who like them end up seeing that improvement and started to have some belief they are better than how they are normally.

It is somewhat surprising that Argentina is suddenly estimated to be a lot higher, according to the bookmakers. I remember they were around 11 a while ago. What I also think is not right is that England is apparently also seen as one of the big favorites, while they have not shown anything at any World Cup for 30 years. They may have all the star players from City and Liverpool, but with Southgate as the coach, this is likely to be another complete failure. The Netherlands and Portugal are both very low, I think they should both be around 10.0.

I disagree. Spain is a balanced team, and irrespective of the FIFA rankings, I would say that Spain is having a higher chance to win the world cup when compared to Germany. Check their recent form as well. They managed wins against Switzerland and Czech Republic in UEFA Nations League A. Also, they had a 5-0 win against Iceland in March. And now coming to Germany, I don't think that they have fully recovered from the 1-2 loss to North Macedonia. Their performance in the UEFA Nations League was also not very satisfactory.

Right now, Spain is surely incredible team and I agree with @Sithara007 they can win World Cup because they are well-balanced with quality performance in last few matches but about Germany they are decline in quality and performance with they need some time for adjusting with these new guys even Germany is always one of the best team in Europe but this time they are not good enough for win this event most chances they will reach in last 8.

But, Spain is surely have potential for reaching into last 2 because they are doing much better with consistency England, France and Spain are three teams from Europe those are capable of reaching into last 2 or even can win this year's event.

Spain is good, but not as good as they once were around 2010. Then they became European champions, world champions and European champions again. They were almost unbeatable then. Only at the 2010 World Cup did they lose the opening match against Switzerland. Even this is tough group and any team can done upset but still most chances we can expect Germany and Spain as two teams in knock out stage because by quality these are much better well organized teams from Costa Rica and Japan even now with experience these two can also do better performance but still it's not easy for them to stand against these two former World Champions.

Match between these two European teams could be interesting, and we have to wait for final result who is going to lead this group and same situation is happening in Group F where another two top European Teams are going to face Canada and Morocco.

It's a good start as they plan this for the next few years but when it comes to the world cup it's clear it will only be a lesson for them that they still have to keep improving their squad because this is still lacking when it comes to world level.

It will be interesting to see who will top the group. Because at some point (QF?) the winners of this group will probably play against Brazil. Anyway, the other two teams in the group (Japan and Costa Rica) should not be much of a worry for Spain. Their main target would be not to lose the match against Germany. A win would be better, but if that is not possible then even a draw will be good. In that case they just need to score enough goals to make sure that they top the group. IMO, Spain is having a higher probability compared to Germany.
