France managed to go from losing 0 - 1 to winning 4 -1 against Australia. They just simply were the better team, and it showed in the field. They remained calm after the initial goal and they just played better the rest of the match.

They could even have scored more goals actually. Well deserved win for France.

So far, the UEFA teams are performing better than expected. England won against Iran by a margin of 6-2, and yesterday France won by 4-1 against Australia. Netherlands looked OK in their match against Senegal, and the same can be said about Wales and Danmark as well. The bright spot for AFC was Saudi Arabia's upset win against Argentina, but at the same time the heavy defeats from Iran and Australia would dampen the mood. Being an Asian, I am looking forward to matches from Japan and South Korea.

@Dickiy this was a classic case of one team playing with over confidence while the other team played with nothing to lose, and thus full credit’s to Saudi Arabia cause they gave Argentina a timely warning that they can be defeated too.

Furthermore I wonder if someone just for fun had selected Saudi in their bet slip, because they would have gotten monstrous odds before the match began and now I wonder if this upset will cause many here to wager on the underdog team in the hope of earning a big amount when their selected team causes an upset.

The new combination worked for France, despite the absence of their key players. France is placed in a relatively easy group, along with Danmark, Tunisia and Australia. Danmark used to be a good team, but recently their form has gone down. And we saw this during their match against Tunisia yesterday. Topping the group should not be a very difficult task for France. Even if they end up with a draw in one of their remaining matches, they will be able to do that. The other team to qualify from this group maybe either Danmark or Australia.

Argentina controlled the game, they even had lots of opportunities. but unfortunately, the two goals scored by Lautaro Martines had to be annulled because of the offside trap. after that, Argentina's game pattern seemed very rushed. I saw Messi's expression, which was quite annoyed and frustrated, not to mention his header which the opposing goalkeeper was able to brush away. and yes Saudi Arabia's defense is really tight and very sturdy. the tactic applied by the Saudi Arabian coach was quite effective and succeeded in making things difficult for the Argentine players. It seems that the Argentina squad is very frustrated, so their playing pattern is out of control.

IMO, they were too hasty not as calm as they usually are. and several mistakes were often made by Argentine defenders, and in the end KSA was able to turn things around and be a victory for them. Argentina was unbeaten for 36 consecutive matches because of which the weaknesses that were between them did not emerge. But unfortunately, those weaknesses have been exposed during the World Cup. If Argentina want to reach the final, they will have to make a strong comeback and play devastating football, they have no other options.

On the other hand, Germany also lost to Japan today. Japan played fantastic football today and they deserve this win. Maybe many more interesting things are going to happen in this World Cup.

Honestly too many games are ending 0-0. Last world cup we had just 1 in all of world cup, we had 3 so far already. I am not saying that it’s a "bad" thing but it just doesn't make for an entertaining game. Goals are what makes the football world better, this is why players who play at striker position and score many goals end up being the most valuable players, and ending a game with 0-0 means there wasn't really anything entertaining going on.

I hope that it ends soon and we do not see any more games with that score. I want to see games with 5-4 score line so that we could watch plenty of games and have a lot of fun, that’s the good part of world cup, seeing good results not goalless ties.

So far, there are some surprising results in the first match of this FIFA World Cup. Japan was able to silence Germany with a score of 1 - 2 for Japan's victory. This is of course beyond expectations. Considering Germany is one of the favorites in this World Cup. Maybe Japan is not an easy opponent to beat, but yesterday I thought that Germany would still win. it turns out, there are indeed so many surprises at the World Cup this time.
