Nice/Easy way to buy Bitcoin for people under 18

Hello everyone, I have done this multiple times, buying Bitcoin with Itune Gift cards. There is a platform called https://paxful.com/. I have been member on Paxful for a while and I have done many trades on the site. I just wanted to share my experience. _{Note: this is not an advertisement.} The platform is around 5 years old and the only thing you need to do is create an account select buy bitcoin then select gift cards. There is no scammers and the buying system is very safe. That's it, I just wanted to share this with you guys!

Keep in mind that some users had terrible experiences with Paxful, so I guess you should read it and know the risk before you use the platform. You can find them in the scam accusations section for example.

Another alternative is doing P2P transactions on the forum or in person. It might take more time and not as flexible as you thought, but should be a good alternative if you don't have a bank account yet.

ID verification is an important aspect of building a successful profile on Paxful. This article lists out the main requirements for quick and successful ID verification. The requirements are as follows:

You must be 18 years or older.

It's not worth the risk. They can ask you to verify your ID anytime and even if they don't, you will be forced to verify your account once you reach the limit (1000$).

There are also a lot of scammers on the platform. Yes, there is an escrow but that doesn't prevent people from scamming, a lot of them are taking advantage of the reversible payment methods.

I recognize paxful but they're enforcing KYC for you to have a better trading experience and attach to other trading features. You even have to do video verification which means that sending them your ID isn't enough. There are other verifications needed and would be asked by them.
In your experience, that's nice and you just have to trade with people there with good history and feed backs.

Avoid using all central services if you do not have enough KYC Docs.

Paxful is an intermediary that provides a guaranteed service between parties that do not trust each other, but since the service is completely central, I do not suggest you use it.

you need to have the good luck to complete the deal because you deal with digital goods that are risky and need to follow Paxful KYC.

Why not use a p2p marketplace that does not require any KYC verification for now like Localbitcoins Localcryptos or bisq. At least in such platforms your bitcoins won't be held hostage all in the name of asking you to first pass their KYC verification.
AFAIK, paxful requires KYC verifications as a way of determining one's Nationality and age and from time to time, I come across members who use the platform complaining about it

With localbitcoins too there is requirment of KYC. Maybe some traders won't request for the KYC, but in my country whenever we make a buying/selling we're requested to verify our identity sending our proof to the trader. Further the trade will be proceeded. This is all because of the scam attempts that has taken place through localbitcoins. People just buy with third party bank accounts and request refund through the banking.

My bad. I meant to write localcryptos but made a mistake and wrote localbitcoins instead. Localbitcoins is currently one of the worst p2p marketplaces for people who hate KYC. The KYC is now completely mandatory to everybody regardless of the Country they come from.

 That's the best option, p2p with localbitcoins. However he should be wise and observant on selecting the legit user who wish to transact with. Others requiring KYC but others may not.  On the other hand, I don't think paxful is a good suggestion @OP.  You actually didn't reach that $1000 transaction as per @Omega said on their site thus they are not requiring you to submit any KYC (well, not yet).

Yea, Paxful is not a new services, it’s already a very popular one for trading bitcoins against fiats.
The website is even locally available in my country and we can do business with our local currency.But I don’t use it, because what works for me is a p2p website that I discovered like a year now.

The reason I am using the P2P is because I get more gains from it than when I am using Paxful, I send my  crypto to the P2P service and they credit the money direct to my bank account once it has been confirmed three times on the blockchain.

I think the easiest way would be P2P but you should know a good site for it or you could just simply look for some seller online.
I only buy my BTC through our mobile wallet and sometimes from my online friends who wants to convert their crypto into Fiat.

You wanted to share a well known website,which is already pretty popular in the crypto comminity.What's the point?
By the way,people under 18(kids and teenagers) shouldn't be allowed to perform financial transactions.
Paxful is a marketplace full of scammers.I'm not saying that the platform itself is a scam,but there are many scammers there.Many people sell their gift cards for BTC at a ridiculously low price.That's because they have obtained those gift cards via different scams and hacks.
The Trustpilot score of Paxful is 2.6 out of 5,which isn't that much,there are many negative reviews about Paxful on Trustpilot.

Easiest way is probably p2p if you can do that. Obviously if you are too young, like 12-13 years old, that is risky as well, do not do that with strangers online because that is something that could ruin your entire life for the future, you should stay away from that. However if you are over 15, near 18 levels like 17, you could maybe do it online without too much trouble, still not go face them just in case.

Second best one is the prepaid cards for something, like get netflix prepaid cards or amazon prepaid cards, that type of thing where it has a value but only in one place. If you have that, you could trade that for crypto, or sell it. You may lose some money, but you will make it back when bitcoin price goes up as well so it is something worth checking out.

With that age, you either ask your parents to buy coins for you, or you use peer-to-peer non-KYC exchanges like HodlHodl[1], LocalCryptos[2], or Bisq[3].

I should've listened to you guys, I have 55 USD locked in there from a trade from yesterday. They say I need to verfy my KYC.

@OP, I don't know if you are shilling for Paxful, but you are spreading misinformation about that site. It's really not a scammer free platform at all. Still, there are many scammers, and there is many scam accusation thread on the forum as well. I will discourage to use that site to buy bitcoin and better to use what is suggested by @mk4. I have heard many cases about a scam regarding Paxful even out of the forum. So be careful before using it. And please don't spread the information that actually you aren't fully aware of.
