I am just looking at the project on Polkadot, the quality of projects on Polkadot is more important to me than Polkadot platform itself, look at all the Ethereum Killers in the space, starting from EOS, Tezos, Cosmos etc all have failed to attract good projects on their platform and these Dapps are what help drive up exposure to the blockchain

Well said. Without going into much Technical details, Polka dot is very young altcoin and was listed on Binance exchange few months back , In this very short period the value of DOT has soared more than 100%. What is more fascinating about Polka dot that Trading volume has grown exponentially.

As a rule, projects that rise quickly and their tokens quickly grow in value also quickly then fall.  Therefore, such statements should not be taken seriously.  Even if this project turns out to be successful, it will not threaten the ethereum network with anything serious yet.  Good competition is always an incentive for growth and development.

Very well said. Competition is central to the operation of markets, and fosters innovation, productivity and growth, all of which create wealth. The main issue is that users of Ethereum network have to pay huge Gas and Transaction fees that is opening window of opportunity for its competitors. Any network that solves Ethereum network problems before Ethereum Team does then certainly clients of Ethereum will migrate.

I don't know why some people think Polkadot is the killer of Ethereum which I don't believe.
Because Ethereum is the king of altcoins.

no doubt polkadot is an amazing project but in other for it to be able to take ether's place polkadot has to really work hard and have enough project using the blockchain just like eth is been used plus all other features eth is offering,
90% of new project are using eth blockchain there is a reason for that.

I thought the OP meant killing in sense that people would use Polkadot and leave Ethereum, and I think that's impossible, people will continue to use Ethereum because Ethereum is more trusted in the Crypto space than Polkadot, where still young for now.

Polkadot is a multi-chain framework that supports interoperability between very different chains with various properties, including encrypted proof of authority chains suitable for internal business networks.

Ethereum's strong suit is smart contracts.

I admit that Polkadot is a good project, to be in the top 10 projects is not easy. But Polkadot can be in number 9 as the best
coins is an extraordinary achievement, because for new projects like Polkadot being able to compete with old projects is
an extraordinary thing. It's no wonder many are predicting Polkadot will kill Ethereum, but I don't think it will happen any time soon.
Because Ethereum is too tough and more popular than Polkadot, even most of the projects currently circulating use the Ethereum

This is just speculation in my opinion, it has been proven that many platforms have always been rumored to kill Eth but nothing has been proven until now. because eth is the most powerful platform and always needed in crypto

Polkadot has a similar use case in Ethereum, and its project is auspicious that it has a chance to be on the same level as Ethereum. I don't understand how it can kill eth. Its kind of extreme word people use to define things that can be explained with more sensible word. You probably meant if it would replace eth which is not going to happen. Dot has his own base of support group and they use different technology than eth, eth is much more grounded and has more support. However, it was surprising that 2.0 didn't effect its price the way many people were expecting. Does it mean it is moving towards btc level with its volatility?

Polkadot very good project, but I don't think it can compete with Ethereum in the near future. However, if Ethereum does not have significant improvements, people will start switching to Polkadot more active this is a fact.

When a project comes on the market and they try to do something good, there is a lot of discussion about that project. So I don't know how reasonable it is to compare the project with another hugely popular project. We also want more good projects to come in the market so that one can compete with the other.

Nothing new! We had so many similar topics here... NEO, Stellar, BNB... and Ethereum is surviving and making progress! I don't know how to call this kind of topics, it's FUD and spam in the same time! But actually for people who have some knowledge about crypto they find this kind of topics silly! And if projects base their marketing on "next BTC" and "next Ethereum" are most likely short term projects!
I can't say anything about Polkadot, I see that project name around, but I didn't read more about them and I didn't invest! For now, I will stick to my Ethereums!

competing and killing are not that far from each other but it was a few distance away . polkadot is gaining a momentum now and if this continue it can be a competitive coin next to eth and if it manage to overtake eth chances are that eth can be in danger and worst it will be got killed by this coin but on the competition between them eth still takes the lead by introducing its new eth 2.0 , this leaves polkadot a few mile . eth 2.0 has a staking service that requires 32 eth and you could be right that this can drive more investor in the platform .

Killed ethereum? I don't think that will ever happen. It's true that polkadot were impressive a few months ago with price increases of more than 100%. But of course it's not just that popular polkadot can continue to kill ethereum.

Polkadot has some good investors behind it existence and some institutions but that doesn't make it a killer sword to ethereum, becasue this project has real world usability. Ethereum has done wonderfully well when we talk about altcoins, we all know ethereum to be the king of altcoins and not just pump and dump project. The rate at which the Polkadot price moved some months back clearly shown that it's not a project that's likely to overrun ethereum in my view.

But still, it will be difficult for polkadot to compete with ethereum as ethereum has already got a name in the crypto world. Maybe the next year will be a good time for polkadot to raise the price and update their project so that the polkadot can get more investors. It is not easy to compete or beat the old coins if the project doesn't have something that can be the other benefits. We will see how polkadot is competing with ethereum, and we need to have the patience to see what will happen later.
