this should give us more information about the annual elections for the best footballers, goalkeepers, coaches,...

I think that the two weren't on their best too in this season. For Ronaldo, the covid-19 also took something from him psychologically. Maybe this time the award might shift away from the usual. Robert Lewandowski won't be bad for a change but I'm still doubting if that will happen because he is facing two popular football players.

Sometimes too I think there could be change from the normal. Messy and Ronaldo have taken turns to lift the trophy at different times, just maybe we could have another turns coming up, that will spice up the game. Like when the Italian midfielder / defender, anavaro had to life the trophy.

The woman Football did not start same time with men's football, and not as exciting as the men Football and may never be as exciting, but the strong messages from respect of Gender, preference of relationship partners, racism, equal rights to have same or close to same payment as men, this shows that the women's football can have a voice and they do have very exciting Footballers and matches.

I don't want to get too much into the discussion, it's a minefield these days. I am all for equality and yes, I think the strong messages for equal respect as it should be for the sport regardless of who plays it is more important.

But yeah, some things you do gotta earn, and at the rate the women's game is progressing -- with the necessary support and resources required -- I don't see why they can't at least get the recognition they deserve, so kudos to all those who support the game and its development for all.

Almost FIFA best player candidate is not fair how come Messi and Ronaldo could be the candidate to complicated with Lewandoski are have to best best FIFA player, I think FIFA just wanna get much money by including Messi and Ronaldo because both player totally failed in champion league, just wanna get promoting if have Messi or Ronaldo and very disappointed without have any player from PSG because they are qualify to champion league final last season. I believe Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker should be chosen this year again but in any case ... it will not be easy to compete against Manuel Neuer who lifted the European Champions League cup.

Regarding the best not being chosen, I do think that there are other factors that the committee are looking for when choosing who they want to award the title, maybe we are missing something but that is the hard truth about it, people's choice does not necessarily means that they are a guaranteed winner.

I guess that's what they use in determining the winners. Wish votes are cast "with reasons", then voting participants could determine whether the reasons given by voters are accurate by upvoting/downvoting cast votes.

Regarding the money being involved and the Corruption getting the best of this I do think that even if something like this is going to be there , the approach won't be that high , it's nothing like all of them will be Paid for in advance.

Even if you type the corruption in FIFA , you will get a lot of results.

But still I do think that if I had to bet on someone I would definitely choose Messi over Ronaldo any time. You can see his stats and his gameplay , he for sure deserves it !! I hope 🤞 even though the rumors about bribe and corruption might be true but truly deserving players get the awards.

Nothing concrete, but in the midst of the countless cases of corruption at FIFA, it isn't to be doubted that the choice of the best also has something "dirty".
Even if the prize is only symbolic, choosing a player as "best in the world" significantly increases the player's value, no matter how good he is really when.
The teams that own these players are the biggest beneficiaries of these Awards and are able to sell him, for example, for a much greater amount than it actually is worth.

It's only unfair that this year there was no Golden Ball award when Lewandowski maybe had his only chance in career to win it. I don't know why it wasn't possible to held awards online like FIFA did.

I personally think Klopp's achievement has been several seasons long. Personally, I would like to see different categories such as a 3 year reward, and possibly a 5. Since, Klopp has definitely built up the Liverpool squad over time, and they were probably one of the favorites leading up to their title win. Although, I do believe Klopp is more deserving than Flick. As suggested, Liverpool were ONE of the favorites, because of their previous seasons, but Flick, and Bayern were favorites out of the league, and while they may have won everything put in front of them, their league is generally a little less strong than the premier league, at least in my opinion.

Bayern may have struggled, especially on the morale front,  but they certainly had a starting 11 probably better than most teams in the world, very much like Liverpool honestly. However, the difference is, Klopp brought in a lot of those players, or transformed them over a few seasons. While Flick, took over a team he largely inherited, and they were all world beaters. Bayern were never going to slump for that long. Plus, this season I've been impressed with Klopp even more so, ravaged by injuries, yet still sitting at the top of the league, and that's with the added audacity of having to use teenagers, that have really impressed when they've played. Obviously, Trent, Curtis were fairly established, but Rhys Williams, and even Nathan Phillips have really impressed so far.

Yea you are right,because Messi performed brilliantly in the world cup and this had made so many people happy for his success because the world cup is the greatest achievement, he has ever gotten. Voting base on choice shouldn't be what is used to qualify the winner.

Messi deserves it this time because it f you check his achievement this year was superb compared to Mbappe and Benzema. I believe he won't be the winner next year because there are so many young players that are becoming Messi's rival. Old age will also affect his performance in no time.

argentina's world champion Lionel Messi entered the fifa gala as the absolute favorite for the title of 'best men player' and lived up to his billing (52 points). his psg attacking teammate Kylian Mbappé (44 points) and real madrid goal-scorer Karim Benzema (34 points) finished behind the 35-yo, who claimed this personal trophy for the seventh time.

Messi has won another award that many people will consider controversial. This award makes it his seventh FIFA men's player award although I feel that Benzema or even Mbappe who also had a great world cup were more deserving of this award but because Messi is on the list, they just had to give it to him to add more honours to his career. These awards look now more like people voting who they like than who really performed. The next award has to be purely on performance because this season we have really seen some young players in hot form that deserve awards and recognition.

Yea you are right,because Messi performed brilliantly in the world cup and this had made so many people happy for his success because the world cup is the greatest achievement, he has ever gotten. Voting base on choice shouldn't be what is used to qualify the winner.

Messi deserves it this time because it f you check his achievement this year was superb compared to Mbappe and Benzema. I believe he won't be the winner next year because there are so many young players that are becoming Messi's rival. Old age will also affect his performance in no time.

It was only normal for Messi to win it this year,he was in competition with Mbappe and Benzema and they did play against each other in the final of the World Cup where Messi and Argentina were the better team and they were world Champions.Also France did not convince as much as Argentina did during the World Cup,well except the opening game against Saudi Arabia and then they were on fire from a perfect game to another and this of course had its own weight in this year FIFA awards,so I think the choice is correct for this year.

This is why we have different judges, not only one and I think the judges are sometimes from other places and they don't know the other judges, only to remove the possibility of gaming the voting system. After all, there are still results which are sometimes unpleasant where the judges can pick up a wrong winner but we audience still know it and we will still honor the real winner of the game.

Each role in sport is important so judges should not be biased and based only their votes on who is the existing star of the game. The role of the defender in football is not a joke and if the defender plays poorly, then it will be easy for the opponents to score a win.

yesterday the fifa published the shortlist for 'the best fifa football awards 2023'. champions league winners manchester city have the largest contingent, sending Erling Haaland, argentina's Julian Alvarez, portugal's Bernardo Silva, spain's Rodri and belgium's Kevin De Bruyne.
fans can cast their votes in all categories on the fifa website until october 6. the winners of 'the best fifa football awards 2023' will be honored at a gala early next year. an exact date has not yet been set.

If we talk about men award, then probably it would be big surprise if Messi won't win it. After all, winning World Cup finally is main thing. Only Haaland can compete with him. Women award most likely will go to Aitana Bonmati. She was best player of World Cup in team which lifted trophy and she won Champion League with Barcelona.
Best coach award, I have no doubts that Pe Guardiola will get. Another EPL trophy, but most important thig that he finally won Champions League with other team than Barcelona. Women coach award is more difficult to predict. I would go with Jorge Vilda, former coach of Spain, but there is some contraversies related with him, so, I doubt that he can win this award.
