Hi,

But what happened to this coin? Why its price is so low right now? There were rumors for the big future of the coin in 2014 and it is crashing on every market!

Seems to be a one hit wonder that never really had much going for it, the idea of getting mining power to do something useful is a good one, just xpm's got nothing much else.

It's a botnet coin. People in control of thousands of other people computers don't have to pay for electricity, and can care less how little they sell for. Even at 1 satoshi, they are making a profit. CPU mined coins are a guaranteed fail right from launch.

Riecoin didn't get its act together. We actually wait for a clone of it. When it comes to xpm: Primecoin is fast and secure - it is really all you need in a crypto. xpm, ppc, nmc and ltc are those cryptosd that are practically traded everywhere... i wouldn't write off xpm just now.

I might agree but the storms are gathering and it looks like the forecasts of one winner takes all is coming true. Anyone betting on the survival of alt-coins is taking a pretty substantial risk. That is not to say that risks can't reward but the risk of a zero value result is real.

i know it doesn't look that good in general for alts right now but there will always be a demand for alts because people will want to have alternatives. There is cretainly more than just ltc and btc in the future. A lot of crap will be flushed out, i agree but alts that bring something (features, inovation, ...)  to the table will certainly not become completely worthless. Btc is weak right now. When btc becomes stronger again (anticipating global economic problems) some alts will also gain then. Let's hope this altcoinmarket gets back on its feet. We certainly need more honest products that are ment as currencies/commodities for wider adoption instead of just a quick buck for the creator. I think it will turn out ok for most qualityproducts in the end.

Cryptsy recently made some changes and removed all XPM markets, now they only have BTC and LTC markets.
That must have lowered the demand for XPM, therefore lower value

Yep, that was what I was had in mind when I replied to gustav. People are dumping alt coins for cash and or buying BTC. There are still some nervy characters willing to continue to prop up XPM. Check out this link.

I have not used cryptsy recently and could not believe they removed the XPM markets.

opposite though for me at a time when cents was there, only thing I could offload my godzillions of (what should have been worthless) cents was to xpm, so I then had to dump xpm to get anything of value.
