Scammers are always looking for a new way to scam innocent people, and this trick you mentioned isn't new, I have found myself in too many crypto telegram groups I have no idea about, sometimes I take a time scroll through the chats on the group, all I see is testimonies here and there I just laugh when I see them, cause there's no way you can invest $500 and get $2000 in an hour they are all scams, the best thing to do is to use the "report and leave" button each time you find yourself in a strange crypto telegram group.

I had a problem with a project and I drop the complain in the projects telegram group and after few seconds I got response from different people and the admins too, after few minutes a fake admin PM me and ask for my address to forward to the team, apologizing for a probably error in the system, this is a scammer at work, a complain that's already been solved? Newbies need to be extremely careful with telegram and PMs
Actually, there are many of them pretending as one of the admin and will pm you suddenly asking some very sensitive information regarding about your Password, money, and etc. Because a real admin won't send you a pm 100%, Instead, they will response to you in their telegram group channel that's the legit admin so always be careful dude. |

That has been a method the scammers have employed for sometimes now. They create clone social media accounts of great projects to dupe people. And some of them even use the real Telegram account of the projects and disguise their usernames as that of the Telegram group Admin to scam the unsuspecting people that need help in the group.

The scam on the forum is discussed in almost every thread, but the forum does not cover all people on the planet, it covers only a narrow part, which means you can imagine how many more people are able to fall into the clutches of scammers and part with their money.

who are always in the crypto industry. For that almost nothing can stop them, even in the actual world the scam is
always there. We just need to be vigilant and keep analytics before we invest.

I had the same situation last summer and I learned to be careful because of that situation. There was an Elrond mainnet launch and I saw a link to the swap in the official telgram. There was a promised bonus for swapping tokens first, so I entered with my wallet and nothing happened. Then I noticed, group was fake and I have lost my wallet with elrond tokens. Fortunately, I quickly moved them to another wallet. Money was saved and now I`m always attentive to telegram groups which I join

They targetting you mostly when you join many groups, they will try to pm you and impersonate the admin of the group. You should be more becareful of it, always makes sure the person that have contact with you is the real one. Also, dont give any money or key to anyone else, keep it by your self.

Yeah it only takes 1 group where the scammers targeted all the group members and deploying some bots to message them all and try to impersonate them or doing the scam activities manually. This is also why I for most of the part don't care about the message I received from stranger in telegram even if it's about some deals. It's really such a PITA when we got bombarded by the messages from these scammers and as a result drowns important message in our app. |

this incident is exactly what I often experience, suddenly I am in a group that I don't know about and in there a lot of people are talking about investing and profits in a fast time, maybe for people who are new to crypto it is something real and interested in investing. in order for such a group to get a "scam" writing then everyone has to help report and spam

Telegram groups are the place of most scammers. In that place, they can easily change their usernames and puts fake members in that group. It can be said that it is a paradise for scammers. So it is recommended that one's Should never use fake telegrams groups dealing with an unknown person, groups. Or one's should justify the group before starting with it.

The Modus operandi of most scammers in telegram is asking you about Bitcoin, and if you claim to know they will try to introduce a scam project or platform to you, all in order to scam you, therefore the best way to be free and secure from scammers is not responding to messages from unknown people especially when they ask unnecessary questions. Also, if you find yourself in a telegram group you didn't remember joining, it would be best to exit the group without asking any questions. And lastly, when you get messages from people stating how a certain someone made them earn money through investing in a project, trading or even giving fake proofs, it would also be better to block the person; they are all scammers. In general, we have to be careful of people in telegram in as much as we use telegram to get the information we need.

For investing in cryptocurrency, we really need to be careful about being deceived at all times. For the official telegram of the project, I usually go to the official website and enter the telegram from the official website so that I will not let myself be deceived.
People can change the setting to prevent the scammers to invite them into the fake telegram groups. The telegram is full of spam right now and as far i know that this feature available in the setting. Too many scammers on telegram and they keep flooding the telegram with the scam group. If you are not activating this feature and the scammers will be inviting you to his scam group. |

Scammers have now gone advance and using all means to perpetrate their actions. A few days ago I saw myself in some fake groups of real crypto projects while they are claiming to do giveaway for partnership reasons, Christmas seasons and so on. One thing that made me aware was that report spam was placed on the group which was unusual immediately I opened it and went to check for their original groups and it was different. I saw many giving testimonies of having received the claimed giveaway offers which I am sure it's a game from their co-scammers. An innocent individual might fall for it. Please let's beware and take cautions, report any fake group that you find yourself in as spam.
I'm aware of this trick cause I have found myself in many telegram groups I have absolutely no idea about, sometimes it's about abtriage sometimes it's about trading other times its about investment, scammers are finding all means to get the money from their victims pocket down to theirs , they will never stop trying, Telegram is filled with alot of scam crypto groups and anytime I find myself in one of those scam groups I normally report spam and leave no point sticking around. |

That's right and anyone can change that by going into privacy settings. After clicking on privacy settings , there will be a option for groups and channels where anyone can change "Everyone" to "My contacts". Thus, none can add into any scam groups. Also, we need to cross-check username of any users, specially admin from any exchanges on telegram, it's also happened that some impersonating accounts pm and many newbies fall into those. Because some of them use small letters instead of capital letter like use small "L" for capital "I" and so on. |

It's very simple, you just need to go to settings and go to the "privacy & security" menu after that you have to change the groups from "everyone" to "my contacts" done. Anyone now no one else can add you to the group the group is not clear For groups that you don't like right now, you can only choose to leave |
