We are thrilled to finally have covid-19 vaccines ready to be released on the market for the use of millions of people to prevent the virus. We are glad that the vaccines have been successful and some people have been injected as a test.

But what if even the vaccine that was really necessary for the safety of our health is fake? And you can buy it with your Bitcoin?

A recent report by Checkpoint Research has shown there has been an alarming increase in the amount of fake COVID-19 vaccines available on the dark web. Anybody, who is able to solve the mystery of the dark web, can order and purchase these fake vaccines...but by paying in bitcoins.

The concept of paying through bitcoins, and not traditional money has made tracking these transactions harder for the experts.

"When researchers communicated with one vendor, they offered to sell an unspecified Covid-19 vaccine for 0.01 BTC (around US$300), and claimed that 14 doses were required.

These fake vaccines are being sold in the name of leading pharmaceuticals and are being priced for nearly $250 and above. "The range of medicines advertised by these vendors is extensive, from ‘available coronavirus vaccine $250’ to ‘Say bye bye to COVID19=CHLOROQUINE PHOSPHATE’ to ‘Buy fast.CORONA-VIRUS VACCINE IS OUT NOW’, and we have no way of knowing whether these are genuine," the post reads.

Paying bitcoin for the covid-19 vaccine is really good if it is not a fake vaccine and hopefully the government will allow it so that people who want to buy the vaccine have options.

Also, be careful everyone and be observant to avoid the fake vaccine because for sure it has a detrimental effect on our health.

buy vaccines with bitcoin? That is highly discouraged. because the vaccine has guaranteed it in every country that it will provide relief in its purchase. Of course this will not be relevant, if this is used as bitcoin as a tool to buy vaccines, not just faked. on the contrary, they have different intentions. The funds collected from the sale of vaccines will automatically go to the state treasury. if it's transferred to a bitcoin wallet, then obviously there will only be one person holding it.

One thing to note is that the number of vaccines released are well accounted for, and the manufacturing of such will require specialized laboratories and storage facilities knowing that these mRNA vaccines will get inactivated, or not viable for use, if storage conditions were not met (which are usually tens of degrees below zero, with BioNTech’s vaccine needing -70 degC for storage). I get that most people are already desperate, but vaccines will come along their way through official channels. There’s no need to rush, and if possible, try to warn your local groups about these should you encounter such.

i guess those people that want to have an early access of the vaccines and they will do anything if its risky or not . they could be businessmens too and they can hoard , resell it  later for a higher value .

i heard that health officials are going to take the vaccine first to prove that it was safe because of the survey that 90 % of people wont take the vaccine imediately because of the failed vaccine that happened on the past that killed many people .

There are people who still want to get the vaccine easily and no longer think about its effect on their body and health especially people who are really afraid of getting infected with the covid-19 virus.

Others will also take advantage of the situation and do things like make a fake vaccine and sell it on a dark web or in the community without thinking about whether it will harm the other people. All they want is to get money for their own benefit.

In my opinion, you could as well buy things like that with digital fiat currencies... all you need to do is to go to the sellers directly, make purchases and send them money p2p to their local bank accounts(with some application that preserve privacy/anonymity). Fiat transactions are hidden from the public unlike on Bitcoin... this would make things hard to prove without real transparency
I prefer a financial system that truely preserve privacy/anonymity but is still able keep track of people who use it for dangerous things. Hopefully, this is possible in the future with Bitcoin/crypto.

Well, I wonder who willing to buy vaccines on darkweb. I will never use my bitcoin on such useless stuff like that. Government and hospitals are responsible for providing vaccines for citizens.

In my country, we are not quite familiar with Darkweb but I can ensure that no one will ever want to buy something on the internet without any guarantee. Those who are really happy that a vaccine has finally come, I have a bit of bad news for you all! Covid-19 has become a matter of political importance, rather than a matter of public health.

Vaccine companies are not releasing the actual data of post vaccination side effects for obvious reasons. However, anyone senior executive associated with Pharmacovigilance, knows the truth! It's going to be interesting whether there's going to be scalpers. Safe storage and logistics are a huge concern and I do believe that until production ramps up vaccine distribution and access is going to be closely monitored; making it rather difficult to get illegitimate access to vaccines on a business scale, except maybe in the most corrupt of countries.

Will depend on the country I guess? In the UK the first recipient was an old lady and in the US a NY health care worker. The vaccination prioritization of other western countries appears to be similar.

Given the controversy that the vaccines seem to cause in some circles there's going to be a lot of misinformation incoming, especially ones disavowing the vaccine like they did 5G. While studies on the long term effects are still out (for obvious reason, after all the vaccines are rather new) the immediate post vaccination side effects seem to be greatly exaggerated. Or put differently, they seem to be "not worse than a flu", to quote one of the dumbest sentences of 2020. Except true this time. Hopefully.

What worries me though is that while the current generation of covid-19 vaccines seem to be effective enough in terms of immunization, vaccinated individuals still appear to be contagious to some degree, even if they don't have symptoms. Accordingly building up herd immunity is likely to be harder than anticipated, at least until other vaccines come out.

Only the RNA-based vaccines must be deep-frozen. The Russian and Oxford vaccines could be stored in standard fridges.

Today all we see is desperation & fear. most people don't mind buying the vaccine from dark or black market in course of trying to protect themselves and that of their love ones. It like an hungry person who does not really care about the  quality of food presented before him or her

Probably the same people who already turn to the black market for their medical needs, whether because their medicine is unavailable, illegal, or too expensive where they live. It's less common but you can find antidepressants, antipsychotics, and even epilepsy and dementia medications on the dark web. Same idea.

When it comes to COVID-19, there are lots of irrational and desperate people who just want to get vaccinated. Given that COVID-19 vaccines aren't widely available yet, there is obviously a market for it on the dark web.

Buying vaccine as early as now is like making yourself one of those who got free trial for testing. There are actually people who doesn't want to get a vaccine because of fear for side effects. Its no better to choose buying on blackmarket, you have no assurance of what will happen. It would be better to wait for free vaccine, you saved your Bitcoin and you also free from any health risk.

We are all very aware how this vaccine took time before it was announced, but no official statement from the government or World health organizations who are the prime leader of this safe and free coronavirus vaccine.
Everyone should proceed with due diligence before purchasing anyone.

It is obviously a scam, the covid vaccine is probably the most sought item in the entire world right now so I will not be surprised that in many countries the vaccines are being guarded by police officers or even the army, very few of those vaccines will be stolen and even if criminals could get their hands on it that does not mean they have the necessary infrastructure to move them in a way for the vaccine to remain effective, but as you say it is possible the people that are buying this vaccine in the dark markets are already taking medicines from dubious merchants so they do not mind trying to get the vaccine in this way.

Jesus christ, the people attempting to buy a vaccine on the dark web are getting exactly what they deserve- a dangerous concoction of god knows what with no oversight and no recourse if something goes wrong. You have to go far out of your way of common sense to even be in a position to be hurt from something like this, so anyone who is ultimately really earned it.

At the end of the day, unless you are buying from a reputable medical institution then it is unlikely you will be able to get a real coronavirus vaccine and someone might be injecting you with any old rubbish. I don't know of any medical institutions that accept Bitcoin so you might as well give up on the idea and just wait in line to be notified by a government agency for when it is your turn. Stay safe, keep washing your hands regularly and wear a mask in any public indoor locations to lower your chance of catching it.
