Hello guys. After checking for quite long time, I see there's no single reliable Telegram ENG group?

Let me clarify what I mean - I saw hundreds of ICO, bounty, investment, signals, whales, P&D, etc. groups - 100% of them are scam, don't have anything useful or created just to get advertisement payments by reposting news, nothing more. In Russian it's almost same, but not 100% - 10% of groups are really good, professional, authors do very good analysis (NEVER SELL SIGNALS - if you see someone selling signals - ITS SCAM), either from fundamental side, from technical side, or from other aspects. Is it really so bad and trashy in ENG TG space?

Happy to see recommendations, unless its about bounties, DeFi, HYIP, ponzi, signals, ICOs...

CWN Crypto Chat
https://t.me/CryptoChatCWN

Good group, everyone is active and pretty much lets you know through a network of people the top gainers / losers though they primarily focus on BTC and ETH, with the odd occasion of other coins. Only downside, constant flow of messages, meaning if you don't check it within a couple of hours you do build up thousands of unread messages.

cool channel. I always use it.

unfortunately telegram is full of spam and scams, these are mostly what you will get in every telegram group especially those telegram with above 1k members, they are filled with spammers, fudders and scammers, the only way you can find a good group is those private group which you are specifically invited to join, they usually make sure to keep it away from spammers and scam activities, you still need to apply caution.

I'm a bit confused here, maybe I need more enlightenment on this? Some top well know DeFi projects have telegram groups, projects like Avalanche, DIA, Chainlink, Ferrum Network etc all have telegram groups, why are you saying that they are 99% scam, how can you judge a project mainly because of telegram group? Telegram is just a tool and scam projects will use it just like other good projects too

Maybe I didn't express the target groups correctly. Yes, some project-based groups are good (I didn't check the ones you mentioned, thus I don't know about them specifically). I was referring to groups / channels that do throughout industry analysis, fundamentals analysis or something what you won't see in the typical "signals groups" / "trading groups" / "news channels" / "ICO alerts" / etc.

You are correct. But as I know, many (or maybe most?) of those "invite-only" groups are also scams to let you pay to join it, and then you just get a spammy or scam content Grin

It’s so easy to increase the number of telegram group nowadays.
The admin usually used cctip or bot to make their group/channel looks big.
Before you try their service, better to ask their group insight and stats first.

IMO, AMA is the most profitable thing for bounty/airdrop abusers now.
3 points that should be known about this kind of activity:
1. Scam project would never care about the quality of the group, only numbers matter.
2. The admin will get paid expensively.
3. They will pick fake members who have the best question during AMA to get more money. Usually best question will be rewarded by the project.

I joined several telegram group from several crypto projects. I saw those kind of people everyday, asking if they can send the team an AMA proposal  Grin

Yes, you are correct. But you are a little wrong about the pricing - to increase number of TG group is super cheap. Also there are spam services, which are also cheap. This will ultimately fake all numbers, including post views, etc. and lure users into it. And then the admins would message projects for marketing in their group/channel. That's the typical business model which 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999% of groups follow. Yes the number is that bad Cheesy

that number is almost accurate lol Grin
I think you know better about this.
I would love to know/discuss what aspect that you consider as a good point that enough to make you advertise on those telegram groups.
or do you use any tools to help your research about targeted telegram group?
or do you have a list of good telegram groups?

wait, you supposed to be the one who gets the answers. I am sorry.  Grin

Haha, yeah that number is pretty accurate Grin

Well, I have been using TG for over 6-7 years by now, and have seen very different sides of it from all types of content and groups that can be possibly imagined, so yes I do know what I am talking about. And after all these years, there's 0 ENG-based groups that I would consider "high quality + original content + throughout analysis". In RUS language there are couple of them... very few, but still can find them. But in ENG it's quite disappointing.

As for research tools there aren't that many actually, but here are few good tips on how to see a good vs. bad group/channel:
1. check the statistics of the channel here: https://tgstat.com/ (there are other tools too, but they mostly do same thing with nearly same accuracy)
2. if it shows a red mark that group uses unethical marketing - you can skip that channel (it means too many bots there)
3. if you passed 2., you can see the number of post views if it's spiking anywhere or shows irregular behaviours which would mean either actual marketing activity, or purchases of fake views and "members"
4. you check the long-term trend and you can observe either a natural growth, either those spikes I mentioned earlier
5. most reliable channels will have also groups where you can see activity of the users (don't know yet if they are real though)
6. if there's no group supporting the channel - skip it, as they don't want to show low real userbase
7. check the engagement rate (also can see on that website I shared), but be careful as this can be faked too (if admin of the channel is smart enough)
8. check where the channel was mentioned before - if it was mentioned in high quality channels / groups - it was either paid marketing, or the content was really great that someone referred to them; but be careful as most of the times channel owners maintain multiple other related channels to scam more people on ads and to do cross-marketing (so you need to check those in the same way you were checking this one in steps 1-8.
9. if the channel had good real marketing, has a group for the followers, had a natural growth in followers, has a good engagement rate, there's a good chance you found something not too bad already
10. finally check the activity of the group - it's the best indicator after all (yes it can be faked too - there's a software to fake this via bots that can be customized in bulk to make it look like real users, but few admins know about this), if the group is really talking about something meaningful, has a "family" / "friendly" environment among members where people know each other (at least some), respect the admin and closely follow channel updates and discussions - here you go - you probably found either a good channel with a group, or very smart scamy admin Cheesy

From my experience, 90% of channels will be filtered out before step 10, and the last 9.9999999999999999...9% will be filtered out on step 10 exactly where sometimes you will see group members discussing some bshit, or talking nonsence, or posting spamy content / links / images (I earned XXXXXX $$$ thank you admin, my lord etc Cheesy), and with ENG - probably none will be left. Not sure about other languages though.

Again, with the above I don't mean project/company-based channels and groups (such as Binance, FTX, etc.) as those usually by default are very targeted if they do have real members. I mean general/news/topic-based/analytical/etc. channels and groups.

Its clear that was just a pure sarcasm. Grin
When you  do own or having a project then the most common thing on your mind will be minding about on marketing strategy which advertising into various mediums including messaging platforms.
If you are an owner who doesnt have much idea on how things works or circulates into this market will most likely be ending up with this kind of option without even realizing that you are just
basically wasting off your precious money on that.Lots of them or most of them are garbage, a group which doesnt even interested on said project were been forced to joined up
without even knowing. There are lots of various ways on increasing group number of members thats why it isnt really worth for some consideration.

All the public ones are pretty bad. All the private ones with actual big players you can't access.

So unless you've got a close group of people who want to chat on TG, there is no point of trying to seek out quality discussion there. All of the channels are filled with pests that try to promote their scam ICOs, pump and dumps or TG HYIP bots.

I think OP is looking for a place to discuss broader crypto topics, hence why he doesn't want DeFi recommendations.

That is why I never believe if someone tells me about he has good trading skills because I think I better to learn more lessons and trade by myself than depend on their analysis. But besides that channel, I admitted that there will be real traders and other people who really have skills in trading and they share what they know with the public without any fee. It is difficult to find that person because they will not say that they are pro traders, and they will be hidden from others.

Not the case with RUS-language public groups, surely you will find that most of them are trash, but a good amount of them is pretty good actually. But, you are right, unfortunately I never saw good/high quality private ENG-language TG groups, so cannot judge on that.

I think OP is looking for a place to discuss broader crypto topics, hence why he doesn't want DeFi recommendations.

Yes, you are very correct and this is what I was looking for. Not for DeFi/ICO/Airdrops/Trading Signals specific groups. If you have any good recommendations I would really appreciate if you would share some of them in DM.

Lol, you indirectly made a great point which can be an advise to anyone checking those sources. If anyone says s/he is a pro-/advanced-/expert-/super-/"add any other cool words"-trader - just run as fast as you can from such person or source Cheesy You surely will be better off by spending the same amount of money which they ask, on FREE good educational lessons (all them are 100% free of charge btw if you are capable of using Google) and investing that fee asked by those groups/channels on directly investing/trading with real money. You might not earn millions with that, but you surely will learn a great deal of info and skills with real life experience which you would otherwise spend on paid groups, and then would lose again on your first time trades.

I believe there is a time for us to earn millions in that way, especially if we can learn many lessons from Google or other sources. If you use paid groups, you should spend some amounts+use the other amounts to starts follow their suggestion, which I am sure that will not small. Imagine if we can use that all of that money for trading by ourselves while we learn trading lessons, maybe we can make a profit, and that can help us to improve our skills too.

Btw, for those who was wondering, here we translated one post from one TG group: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5304694.new#new

This type of content, we were looking for in the ENG-segment of TG.

Telegram is not a good place if you want to check the latest on what's happening in the community, much better to follow Youtube and twitter channel of news aggregator like Cointelegraph, most of the people in telegram are just going to sell you crap, they do not have reputation to protect unlike on Twitter and Youtube where the competition drive them to be honest and transparent.

I guess that depends on the country? Because in Russia Telegram is #1 place to get info, news and opinions on crypto-space; in China thats QQ or WeChat; but in the U.S. it seams that you are right - Twitter and YouTube are the go-to choice.

unfortunately telegram is full of spam and scams, these are mostly what you will get in every telegram group especially those telegram with above 1k members, they are filled with spammers, fudders and scammers, the only way you can find a good group is those private group which you are specifically invited to join, they usually make sure to keep it away from spammers and scam activities, you still need to apply caution.

You are correct. But as I know, many (or maybe most?) of those "invite-only" groups are also scams to let you pay to join it, and then you just get a spammy or scam content Grin

Exactly, we should be very careful with the telegram group and every day I used to get a lot of new telegram groups. Which people are sending spam message in order to steal our money, we should be very careful with the telegram groups most of the people are automatically added to the fake telegram groups.
