Recently I got paid for a bounty I participated in and I told a friend because my thought is to sell it before it got dumped again but he advice otherwise saying I should keep as the price will definitely increase soon. Most people this year after all the pandemic did not see Bitcoin anywhere around $20k but lo and behold it's above it. Trading and Investing in this market needs a lot of thinking before taking any steps.

He just want to point out the possible correction since BTC is already at it's peak, No one knows when will this price trend but we are certain that the price will correct at some point. I don't find his point as negative because he is just stating a warning for buyer that will enter right now because we all know that hype and fomor is strong during the peak of BTC which might result to huge loss once you didn't set a stop loss.

That's why we need to watch the chart so that we will get hint on what will be the next move of bitcoin so that we can possibly earn or minimize the damage if something huge dump will came in future, We should remember that we shouldn't buy on the hype but if we want to earn then its a perfect opportunity to us to do a short trades since bitcoin is quietly gives us a good chances to earn since the price of it crazily pumping up right now.

I really think the OP has a point it's really dangerous to buy at peak since anytime it may crash down but there's a lot of speculation that the Bitcoin will go even beyond $100,000 which is really too good to be true but I'm hoping about it too. Well it's just a matter of taking risk for an investor.

This was the time when veteran hustlers are entering, they target new comers and grab what they can and after that lost in an instant. Hope this time around is different with more caution and more knowledge. There are lots of good folks out here giving tips on how to overcome this and avoid things being hacked and hijacked. If I remember correctly the alts projects that would grab this opportunity would be the ones who will surely put their coins to exchange in order to sync with the hype, I experienced a lot with this kind of scheme.

Buying at ATH is a risky idea for sure because there's a good chance the price will go down eventually. At for traders, now is probably a good time for them since they play on fluctuations which occur all the time, and Bitcoin is very volatile these days. Plus it's probably easier to trade in the bullish market than in the bearish one because it's hard to lose if the price keeps going up.
What about selling? The price is very attractive, people might decide to cash out.

I agree that, right now, you should be careful, take your gains, just to be sure. I think what happens right now is a hype and i pray that it's the big investors that are comming in right now that take the loss when the downturn begins.

In the long run, however, this looks different. There are three major factors that will contribute to a massive and REAL increase of value.

First is simply the deflationary nature of bitcoin as "currency" (it's really a very abstract payment service/financial asset, but you can treat it as currency).
Second is the fact that we are still at the beginning of the implementation of bitcoin in the general goods and service market. It's unfortunate and embarrassing that in the beginning the first major people and organisations that accepted bitcoin were drug trafficers and people selling child pornography or other illegal goods and services on the darkweb, or people committing tax fraud. That is where the actual real economic demand came from, but it was foreseeable that people won't simply stop doing it, because... well, people are terrible.
The adaption of bitcoin by more and more regular market participants, however, will change that dramatically. It WILL stabilize the real actual demand and it will increase the price dramatically, as bitcoin can only deflate.

What i am not sure about, still, is the third factor, which is the huge input of capital investment into the market, as you see right now. It creates kinda good opportunities for miners big and small and enthusiasts speculating with the coin, but is far from a responsible investment for people handling other peoples money. And i am not sure what they are trying to do with these assets, particularly as they are buying in so late and at such a high level.
It could be very well possible that, because of them, this hype will still go on because of them, but what they do smells fishy to me and i hope the big investors come crashing down. But that's just my own reservations against those people, as i despise the unproductives.

As i am just starting out to mine on small scale, i actually hope for a big drop in price, so the difficulty level goes down with the hashrate just until i can cash in on a little share of the next hype tax free after two or three years.

I agree to this, there's just so many scammers in twitter, telegram, facebook, and even discord right now due to the ongoing all-time high breaking of Bitcoin.

During 2017, scam ICO and Bitconnect was the reason why people regretted buying Bitcoin. Right now, there's no large scale pyramid scams going on that could be a comparison to Bitconnect so I don't think 2017 dump will ever happen again and we might even reach $30,000 easily due to hype and support of large companies.

I agree that this is an important time for BTC and traders alike. While it is best to remain vigilant I still think that this is not the end for BTC, and that it could go even higher 

At the same time with BTC reaching its ATH I think that it goes to show again that you should never sell BTC. Always buy BTC but don't sell, unless you're a good trader and can recuperate your BTC easily.

A correction has a huge tendency to indeed occur because there is a high rate of increase in its price  at this moment, which is evident from the past. The market price will continue to increase? It might be and it may not. The only thing we could hold with is the fact that there is a limited supply, and demand could be triggered in the future which will make its market value higher. But the question which comes to my mind is regulation. Will the supply and demand be still considered if something is already regulated? This I think will be the conflict to the assumption that the market price will just continue to increase as years are passing by. I mean, other investments which are regulated are still having price increase, but we are talking about a decentralized digital currency so there are factors which might make difference.
