Will we ever get another 7th Jan 2018 Alt Season?

Many people especially the newbies in crypto had started losing hope that Bitcoin would cross $20,000 before last year ended but it didn't only cross the $20k but also crossed 30k with above $4,000. If that can happen to Bitcoin, it can happen to any other cryptocurrency that gives what people want in term of it development and marketing.

Tweets on Twitter saying Alts wont have a alt season until Ethereum beats its past All Time High Price, is this true?

- Bitcoin price goes up, Alts stay flat?

- Bitcoin price goes down, Alts go down too?

- Bitcoin price is flat, Alts go super high?

- Best time to sell Alts when Bitcoin Dominance is low?


Ethereum is still like 50% away from its all time high meaning there's still a long way to go for Ethereum to get there so confidence into Alts wont come back until Eth surpasses its All Time High otherwise Bitcoin will continue to dominate with higher price and be King to market dominance of 90+% thus Alts will die when that happens?

Some altcoins are already showing good growth. Dot has doubled recently, Litecoin is now very expensive and ether has almost doubled in the last month. The altcoin season has already begun.

So when there are some Altcoins that are already occupying double the price, it is called Altcoin season? because some people are waiting for that Altcoin season they don't know when it will actually happen.

What you mean do not have funds again for 2016-18 Alts? So you saying only the new name alts will survive? What about history and establishment of an older alt, does this count nowadays in good fundamentals of a alt?

Alts like Ether, Dogecoin, Litecoin and a few more are selective. Looks like a strategic selective of Alts with the least risk of going flatline dead near 0.

Shall we assume De-Fi 2020 trend is dead now?

When I say alt season I mean when every alt got pumped back in 2017-18. Now I only see selective Alts being pumped.

Apart from Ether, Litecoin, Dogecoin which other Alts are safe like these? Dogecoin is safe alt cause Elon Musk behind it 

Ripple XRP would have been $1 today each but that SEC regulator case is holding ripple back in this selective alt race.

The sad thing is if Bitcoin dumps from its pump all alts will correlate and dump too meaning Bitcoin is like the SEC regulator crashing alts like ripple when bitcoin goes down.

Can a alt apart from stablecoins ever be unique and dont have correlation to bitcoin? Even the alt king Eth is correlated to btc.

oh yes of course, don't worry, there are already signs, Doge is up 150%, Ethereum is above $ 700, and Litecoin is in a bullish trend,
of course these are signs to watch out for when the altcoin season will start, it's just that bitcoin dominance is still high and predicted to be reaches 90%,
so just accumulate the altcoins that you choose and hold, 2018 will repeat itself this year.

You mentioned few alcoins that grows, but Bicoins price is still high and also grows. As well as its dominance is still high, while in first post it is mentioned that in 2018 altseason was when Bitcoins dominance was around 35%. Only few more days till January 7th and altseason is not even close. Only few alts are close to their ATH, imo, it is early to count altseason to start.

yes it looks like in a moment you will see altcoin season .. it will not be long and it looks like it has started now.  then buy altcoins right now while the price is still cheap .. maybe what happened in 2017 will happen again.  but to get altcoin season you have to wait for bitcoin prices to stabilize.

Personally, I think something like this should be.

Bitcoin is at $34,000 and can almost reach $40,000, much higher than 2017, so I believe it's not time to talk about Bitcoin's bubble or drop. so we will have a better Altcoins season in 2017.

Times are changing back 2017 the market is in an experimental period, so many altcoins are pumped without getting proof that they have usage to the community, investors have proven that only Bitcoin and a handful of coins and tokens have use case for the development of this technology, all the others are just pump and dump or now here gone tomorrow projects.

As far i feel for the market it is now rising, there is no need to argue too much for the reason that the increase is not as expected by everyone, but as it happens, almost all altcoins are all increasing.

But more precisely we are still waiting for the altcoin to explode, as mentioned by the OP i think history will repeat itself and we will have the next alt season again. But i don't think things will be so predictable, i agree that history will repeat itself but altcoins will grow in waves and reach new ATH.

Okay so whats the ratio of price now between btc & alts? Back in early 2017 Btc was cheap meaning you got less alts when you exchanged btc for alts right?

So what about now when btc is at new ATH prices, do we get more altcoins now when exchanging the btc for alts because btc is worth more now?

Now 1 btc can buy you 33 eth's. Back in 2018 alt season 1 btc bought you around 13 eth's.

So how do we look at price ratios on CoinGecko and is it best to trade alts with BTC pairs or Eth pairs or USDT pairs to maximise gains for this upcoming alt season?

In my opinion alt seasons will occur this year, but wait for the Bitcoin price to stop rising first and Bitcoin dominance can fall again. Because if
the Bitcoin price continues to rise like this, the arrival of the alt season is likely to be late. So we really have to be patient, I am sure if we are
patient then success will come naturally. If you pay attention to the prices of several altcoins that have started to approach ATH, but indeed
the increase in altcoins this year is not as fast as 2018. The most important thing is that the price of altcoins is moving up, although slowly.
My prediction is that mid-2021 there will be an alt season where all the altcoins will reach the new ATH.
