Please try to read through the thread before placing your post

Fine, some threads are extremely lengthy, and nobody is going to read through the 555147++ posts on wall observer, but an average thread will normally have a rather more restrained set of posts, often digestible in under 5 minutes, or 3 if you skim read (tops).

It’s pretty frequent to see replies that denote having barely read the OP, and that have clearly not picked-up the scent provided by the answers already existing within the thread itself, which often give context to the OP’s content, either narrowing down the arguments, or swaying the conversation slightly to a different ground, before being reset to the beginning by a quick uncontextualized post. 

In a brief moment of bewilderment, I let my grey matter fantasize briefly with the idea of these posts being rejected by the miners of the thread, refusing to add them to the "postchain"…

No matter how many times we say not of the members going to give any attention to it that is why merit system was introduced to control the amount of spam after that there is a lot better forum compared to previous amount of spam well still it is not completely spam free. Maybe fellas will realize it only when there is no incentive for posting contents which exceeds after certain post count in a thread. Probably this is also not s complete solution still can make a change than current spam rate.

Spammers generally tries to paraphrase the posts before them, heck I even had spammers just outright copying my post. They got banned of course but it was pretty disgusting. Your advice is going to fall on deaf ears. Continue reporting those who are posting mindless or off-topic posts and merit carefully.

@ranochigo you have said it all.  The merit system is here to stay,for equity. I sincerely wish people stop all this spamming and redirect all the efforts and time copying someone's else's work to studying how the forum works. it's easier when you learn from our Noble elders on this great forum.  @ranochigo is a sure example. I believe in learning.

+1 to OP, yesterday a user bumped a rank up thread in the B&H section without reading other posts in the thread to understand that the thread need not be bumped since the OP was caught doing something shady, annoyingly so, after that user was corrected, a few others still made the same mistake without just reading the posts directly above theirs. It's not too difficult to just peruse through the OP and some replies on a thread, especially if it's a thread you did not join in at the beginning, if you keep making mistakes of posting without reading, users will take you to be a shit-poster and even if they don't put you on their ignore list, your posts could be ignored by them 'mentally'.

It's not even about the merit system, most of this users aren't even seeking to get merited for posts such as that, and mind you that some of them are even ranked up members, the thing imo is that they are just hurriedly making posts without much understanding, and maybe cause of some signature quota they want to meet up with.
