Received my first product purchased through bitcoin today

So I just received my first product today which I purchased entirely through bitcoin. This made me so much happy today as I bought something (an actual product) and made the payment in bitcoin.
Citadel21 is a bitcoin magazine and I have got the volume 3. I made a purchase on Oct 27 and received the magazine today on 21 Dec which is almost 2 months but yeah it got delivered.
Citadel21 didn't even ask for any details other than shipping address (not even a registration on it's website) and accepted bitcoin payment.

I paid 0.0016 BTC ($21 on that day) which is now worth $36 but who cares. It's the USD that's fluctuating.
0.0016 BTC on that day is still 0.0016 BTC today and that is how I value my purchase.

To be honest, this is my first product which I got delivered from an international address. They delivered it from Finland.
This my first magazine I ever bought.
This book has the right message on it's cover i.e. HODL which is so accurate as of today while bitcoin is creating an ATH almost everyday.

I have used bitcoin to make purchases before but it was in an indirect way. I used to exchange bitcoin for fiat and then buy products with it.
The first time I bought something with bitcoin was back in 2017. I had bought a powerbank through my bitcoin earning. Had to exchange them for fiat though.
It made me so much happy to be able to buy something on my own that day. Bitcoin gave me the ability to buy many things on my own later.

I got the same feeling of happiness today. A sense of freedom from fiat is what I actually felt and it was truly an amazing feeling.

Maybe I will use also bitcoin to buy a product this week and I saw some stores who are accepting bitcoin now and I really like to try to use bitcoin as payment and hoping soon too see a lot of people will use bitcoin to buy a product so the exposure of the bitcoin will grow.

I encourage every crypto user to use bitcoin to purchase a product so we can see a value of the having bitcoin and the others too will encourage to use and to invest it.

That's awesome, because very few try to make a direct purchase whereas the majority try to make a purchase converting bitcoin to fiat. I've seen some online stores with the cryptocurrency payment gateway, haven't tried it. Possibly a small purchase will also help with the real-time usage of bitcoin which is much needed for the growth/progress of cryptomarket and large scale adoption.

Yes its true and inconvenient too because we do have to convert our bitcoin into fiat to be able to purchased such item that we wanted to buy. Well aside from this was the fee that we will going to pay by just converting our bitcoin into our respective fiats and whatsoever.

Hopefully i can do found any online merchants or much better a real business merchants that oofers bitcoin as a payment for their products, its a les husle and more convenient in any ways.

Glad to see this! I have been buying stuff with bitcoin for a long time now.  I think the first purchase I ever made off of the forum was to apmex.com, buying a small piece of silver or something similar to that.  I encourage everyone to stop by the collectibles thread if you're interested in things like this..we have stuff like this for sale all the time.

I have some friends living there and I have never heard any of them saying of making any purchases like you did till date. They used to buy gift cards from me for their btc but never heard of a product bought by them against btc as they (my friends) are too conservative about conversion and high transaction fees for which they use their cash only to buy anything. Congratulations on your first purchase and the beginning of a new journey towards having more in future.

I do care about the fiat value because at the end 99.9% of things i use are sold with fiat and since fiat still have a great value in the real life it still means a lot, the true value of your btc 0.0016 now cost $36 which means technically the price of your item just cost even more  , it does amaze me when people say they prefer to use btc yet always happy about the btc fiat price increase and ATH

That's really impressive. I've been also trying to buy stuff with Bitcoin online as of lately but not to this degree. It has always been being converted to fiat every I purchase with Bitcoin. Haven't seen any store that completely accepts Bitcoin as payment without being tied to fiat in my country so that's really impressive on your part.

Though I find those magazines kind of expensive.

Kinda sad though that it almost took 2 months after your purchase before you get the actual magazine itself. Magazines should be give during the month in order for you to get the latest and up to date information and news and what is happening during that time. Right now reading a magazine that is saying news from October is really not news anymore. Maybe they should improve on their logistics side of end. Maybe if they improve this side their sales might even increase because of that.

Yes you are right. I am from India. For me it doesn't really matter much how much fees or conversion rates I pay. At the end, it's going to someone who could use it for something.
Besides if we don't use bitcoin directly then it's purpose is defeated anyway. I know this is just my first direct bitcoin purchase but I am still trying to bring a change.
I wish there comes many stores like Citadel who completely accepts bitcoin for products.

Wow! Congratulations for using your bitcoin directly in buying that product. Although quite a long time before being delivered but still worth it. Maybe I'll try that because I really want to experience also using bitcoin to buy some products but not too expensive.

This is primarily because 95% of the people living here only know btc as an alternative to stock market and some don't really know what it is and invest their money to receive a huge profit or huge loss. You can consider 1/100 will know the basic technical aspect of bitcoin and in the remaining 99 users 40/100 will use it to scam poor newbies and the remaining 59/100 will use them for trading with shitcoins alone.

Again as I said above only a very few know about lightning network. I am not bashing our country but that's the sad truth of the whole country.

I know the feeling man,  , purchasing a product using our precious bitcoin is very different as compare to using fiat. So consider it a myself in your life, and maybe in the distant future you can tell your grand kids about our first experience with bitcoin.

As we all know that in our future, bitcoin might hold a significant holder or event that we can share. This is just the beginning, and for sure you will have so many purchase with your bitcoin. So keep it up, just like the Pizza guy, he doesn't have regrets.

I think the same, while holding our coins is without a doubt the correct long term movement if what we want to do is to obtain profits with our investment at the same time if we really want bitcoin to become a currency that is used by a lot of people around the world then we need to begin to use our bitcoin in that way otherwise that is never going to happen, and if we don't do it then who will?

How can we expect that the average person begins to make transactions with bitcoin when we do not do it? So I am really happy for the OP because this is a purchase that he's never going to forget.

I wanna brag the chili sauce that I bought 4 yrs ago in bitcoin too, but sadly the bottle has been lost and the transaction I cannot find due to junking most of my mails. But yeah, we all have that one purchase that we are proud of because it was paid straight through bitcoin and no intermediaries were given. Good job on making your first purchase, and it’s also crypto-related so that’s a bonus, too. We need more of these integration in the economy to stimulate the bitcoin market further.

Congrats, man. It seems it has been a great experience for  you. Now let's make a thought exercise. What if more people could experience buying something directly with crypto and not fiat - do you think they would feel this freedom or they just don't care what they use to make payments as long as they are receiving the product? I'm curious to see some opinions about this.

Personally I try to refrain from spending Bitcoin as I know their purchasing power will be much higher in the future.
