After spending quite many hours learning the bitcoin mechanics either from youtube, blogs, or from this forum, now I consider it's the time to BUY some BTC (satoshi of course), still as training as its price is not that good for big investments like many would say. I managed to gain trust from different freelancer sites by doing low bids to get max ratings afterwards, to continue off-site different tasks or to get easier new tasks from others thanks to my rating. I also had very long constructive activity on different forums or IRC to get moderator role afterwards. I got burned once after successful few good experiences in the beginning. That was my experience in online, in real world I had to demonstrate competency in my daily job to advance in career, I was fair in my actions, never went in conflict with others so people trusted me with everything quite naturally I would say. But, as many of you, I am reluctant working with someone that is new, has no reference, no reviews, nothing. The questions now, how long it takes and what are the tips&tricks you did in order to become a trusted member on this forum? I assume most went through escrow when buying crypto, after how many such transactions you got the +1 as trust points? Did any of you sell to non-trusted users without escrow? What was your selection criteria?

Sorry to say that there is no shortcut by which you can be a trusted member. Your activity and contribution may open chances for you but no one can give guarantee about it. If you think that you can gain positive trusts just by using escrow or taking service from someone then you are wrong. We have seen that many users take loans from lenders and pay in time but after multiple successful loan repayment they show they turn into loan defaulter. In my personal opinion number of transactions have no relation with trust where actually it depends on forum users anf how they are taking your overall activity.

Trust must be earned. Start by making trades with other members and if everything goes smoothly and you prove yourself a trustworthy person then some of them may leave you a positive feedback. Don't rush things and don't make trades just for the sake of increasing your trust score. If dt members suspect you are trying to manipulate the system, they may red paint your profile.

Trust, is so delicate, you can earn someone trust and someone can earn your trust, the time for this to happen is not as same with everyone, but the big mark is there can be a "CHANGE" Say no to sentimental attachment, make business, trade the formal way, if you have been doing it like that, what to do is, read the rules, forum rules, rules to a service.

Trust is fragile and therefore it must be earned. You can't expect people to trust a stranger who has done nothing that makes them worth trusting or you trusting someone minus actually seeing there deeds and noticing if that person is trustworthy.
So i would advice you to help members around the community, do your thing and don't even look for trust, it will find you if you are worthy trusting.

To get a colored trust score, you need to get a positive feedback from a highly trusted user. But don't try to game this system, it's quite common for scammers to try to build positive trust before executing their scam, and if you'll beg or try to buy a trust score, you will get negative trust.
Having positive trust does not mean that everyone will trust you, people might still ask for escrow if they will be dealing with, especially with big amounts. I personally think that a high number of valid positive trust feedbacks is more important than raw trust score.

If you want yo get positive trust ratings, first of all, establish a service which you can offer to others. It's up yo you can buy/sell stuffs, have a lending business, escrow services, running a campaign, or even offering you talents. Then let the rest happen naturally, hope to God that you will get one soon . Simlly because you can't please someone to give you positive trust as this is a form of begging which violates the rules of this forum (don't you dare hehe). But don't worry too much, as long as you are having good attitude and transparent all the time ther members would be willing to give you one. Keep patiently waiting.

Actually to become a trusted member, you are likely don't need to do anything. Don't scam, don't do/suggest people with any negative things (ponzi, etc) and you will be fine. People will start trusting you when they found out you are deserve for that, even though they never do any transaction with you.
Trust me, trustworthy people don't even care what people thought about them, they don't even need to search any tips/trick to become trusted.

Earning trust is the hardest thing you've ever decided well for sure if someone makes you a good thing for sure you will immediately trust them but again even your closest friend or loved ones can still betray you, so other people too can do. Even you are already a trusted member here get a lot of reputation came from other members still some of them can do a scam to other people if you make a transaction still its better if you will use an escrow to prevent getting issues for both party. If you encounter a lower rank want to approach you its better to doubt because they don't have any kind of feedback yet if you trust in our forum but I'm not telling you that if someone will approach you with the higher rank you will immediately trust them still recommend to get an escrow if money involved.

Many here have some green trusted color points but it's still not a thing for you to be trusted. You need to prove more than simply showing it off. Not sure but everyone has their own set of companion or users to trust with, as if you already trusted that guy or whatsoever.
But in my opinion, it's gonna be hard to become a trusted member. This is hardet than getting merits from a quality post cause your position is on the line. The best suggestion is be yourself. Dont impress others with what you can do or offer but just become a natural user with something to offer with everyone.

The questions now, how long it takes and what are the tips&tricks you did in order to become a trusted member on this forum?
Trusted member as seller? or DefaultTrust Member? since here we have trusted member but not DT member. Trusted member as seller it will look like You are proven if you are selling good service to this member forum. DT member, is have 2 kinds, DT 1 and DT2, this trust getting from activity and contribution for this forum, but of course it will limited. Learn more about this: 1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=211858.02. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4331331.0I assume most went through escrow when buying crypto, after how many such transactions you got the +1 as trust points?
Depend on member who giving you the positive feedback, you can get +1 just from 1 transaction, if it from DT1 or DT2 member, your profile will shown green +1, if from non-DT it will still shown as 0. but anyone can check the feedback from your profile. If someone from DT giving you positive feedback are not become a DT member anymore, your +1 will also gone from your profile as normal user giving a feedback. Did any of you sell to non-trusted users without escrow? What was your selection criteria?
yes I did it before. When I'm selling my service to newbie, he give me some proof if he is really need my service and not a scammer. i accept it with some research, basicly I'm learning from this cool thread 🌍[Guide] Prevent scam!!! Some useful tools for find scam / fake ICO team 🌍

This is very correct. One shouldn't come here with an intent of becoming a trusted member. Such intents could lead became a scam intent in the future because it isn't clean. It's better to just be yourself, follow the forum rules, make positive impact on the forum and you'll get noticed. There's no magic.

@OP, if you're unaware about how these trust ratings drives people to become ill on their own, you might wanna change your stance that having green trust doesn't mean you can freely have a transaction between that person. Somehow, it is not even a measurement of how good or how matured that person is. Take for example the case of TYM ( theyoungmillionaire). This person has become one of the few trusted members in this community who even help the Pilipinas section to become active. He is a respected member not only in our local but also in the whole community itself. Little did we know, those acts of good deeds turns out to be an act of hypocrisy for the sake of his own good. This only proves that not everyone who had a positive trust in his or her account fully testifies that this person is trustworthy even myself.

Wow, it's a valid lesson learned chapter just by checking his Trust details. It looks like he could have planned a scam scheme, a meticulous smart criminal by act could have patience enough to do something like this anytime... The sentence "trust nobody" can apply to anyone here but also in real life (you can consider it a lottery when you can think at relationships) To touch a bit the background of this thread even if it's offtopic: from where do you buy BTC? Escrow? Website exchanges? Trusted members proven by what? amount of exchanges? Activity? Join date? Trust points?

Getting trust here in this forum could be more difficult compared to getting a merit. But I don't think there's a trick behind it but rather just be patient, be active and be yourself. Being transparent upon making a transaction with other users in this forum would likely help you to earn their trust and they might give you positive feedback. Don't pursue too much of having positive feedback because you will definitely receive it if you really deserve it just be patient.

Taking precautionary measures before doing such deal is your bet especially when you are talking to somebody behind a forum pseudonym. Trust scores are just an indicator to help you come up with a decision whether to continue having such agreement or not. To touch a bit the background of this thread even if it's offtopic: from where do you buy BTC? Escrow? Website exchanges? Trusted members proven by what? amount of exchanges? Activity? Join date? Most probably that decision is subjective to every person if he/she will trust those people that has been doing their services for years. As far as I can see, time is the most important aspect to look into to determine which person is doing their job honestly especially when doing escrow services which involves a large amount of money most of the time as well as being a P2P merchant. This thread for example. [1] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0The people in the list, I believe, are one of the few example who proves their escrow services to be genuine. As you can see, their services have been existing in this community for 9 years and still doing their job honestly.

Trust can be built up from your time, your contributions on the forum and your trades with forum members. It takes time, a lot of time but if you want to open a trade with one member on the forum or with a person, past trust is one of reference for your trade decision, accept or reject it. People can change themselves or some bad things in their lives can change a good members to a scammer. When they change like that, they are not an actually good member and person but they used to be a good member. Only the last trade partner will be scammed and a worst thing is the last scam is usually a big one. elmanchezInvestigation of asu

I think it's hard to be a trusted member, why? because those who are already trusted members have made a lot of transactions to prove their worth, or to be eligible to receive the trust, while others received the negative trust because of doing negative or failing to deliver what have agreed upon. in my own opinion, it will be depending on how will you transact with others and its gonna take time because they want to make sure that you really trustworthy.
