I cant see my USDT TRC-20 tokens in Ledger Live

I made the same post in the Ledger reddit channel so I am copying my post from there.

I received some USDT TRC-20 tokens on a Tron address generated on my Ledger Live. The problem is, I cant see these tokens or that they were received in my account. Ledger Live has no records of the transaction. When I search for the address on tronscan.org, I can see the correct balance in USDT.

Why is the balance not visible in Ledger Live? Do I first need to deposit some TRON tokens to the Tron address to make all the associated TRC-20 tokens visible as well?

How would I proceed to transfer these tokens out of Ledger Live without compromising my seed?

If you are seeing the correct amount in the correct address on block explorer then stay clam, your fund are there. Maybe some wrong setting in your ledger live, so you are not seeing the balance. Everything is fine and your funds are there.

I never had TRC-20 token, so I can not tell you exactly what to do but from the basic I will try.

Receive some TRX in your account.

Hello Royse777 and thanks for taking the time to assist. I saw that support article as well. I found another part of the article worrying. This one: "You first need to send at least 0.1 TRX to a new account before you can send tokens to it." They explain that at the bottom.

As soon as I deposited some Tron tokens to my account my USDT tokens became visible in Ledger Live. The only reason I can think of why they made it this way is that you cant spend a TRC-20 token without owning Tron to pay the fees with. This must result in a lot of confusion with the users.

I guess there are nothing to be worried since you can see the tokens in your account. Regarding the reason of sending some Tron - maybe some Tron experts can explain it better.
