Haha, I knew the username would draw a little attention, but rest assured, that's a very long-term dream and I'm very aware that, whilst the possibility to be rich is very there, I'll most likely fail many more times. In all honesty, being at a level where I can most days earn the equivalent to the national minimum would be my more realistic short term goal, and still, that could be some years, even. Bitcoin; how it works, what it is, it's history etc.. and trading; charts, strategies, etc.. are gradually becoming a passion to me. I'm in this for the long run. I was telling my girlfriend back in September ''This is my life now..'' and repeated so many times, ha ha!
It's fun to fantasize about success.. It's even more fun to brainstorm about how to make it work.
I love learning about crypto, (primarily bitcoin because that's where it began) trading and how the market moves and right now that is all I seek to do.
I'll let my riches wait till I'm ready.
I really enjoyed reading your story @Iwant2brich, I hope you become whatever you dream of. Hopefully, you have goals and you'll achieve them if you wake up every day with passion. Although, you've misunderstood something very important. Bitcoin is much more than just trading.
If you want to become a successful trader, then it's respected, but bitcoin isn't a stock. During your stay here, you'll learn more things about bitcoin that will clear up your way of thinking. Based on your chosen username, you may not care at all about it and you're here just for the money, but keep in mind that behind that code, there is something innovative that is waiting for you to understand it. Just because you said you're interested on programming.
The history of bitcoin starts back in 2008, when someone using the pseudonym "Satoshi Nakamoto" published the
whitepaper. I leave everything else on your own research.
Welcome to bitcointalk! Thanks for taking your time to read it and I'm glad you enjoyed doing so.
Thanks for pointing that out. I think I'm passively realizing there is way more to it, as you stated. This is why I aspire to learn the code behind it all.
I want to be able to see what ''Satoshi Nakamoto'' has actually created. I've already came across so many interesting posts, such as searches for the original, un-changed bitcoin whitepaper from 2008. I've been scouting for his post's and comment's on this forum too, as I know he created bitcointalk.org, but disappeared December 13, 2010. Very interesting to say the least.
1.What were your emotions at the time of buying bitcoin?
I'm yet to make an actual purchase as yet, at this point I accumulate from earnings both on and off the forum, it could still be classified as a purchase as I exchange service for payment and I always thought it to be a good investment and did not consider flipping it for any other currency.
2.To those that hodl, what were your emotions during massive gains? Did you become nervous and cash out? or did you feel sheer confidence to hodl? Did you have a plan?
Having a plan is the most important factor, it's easy to panic during a spike or a dip and this can result in emotional reactions and lead to losses. Have an investment plan and a profit target.
1. Do you consider yourself a successful trader? If so, why?
2. Did you undergo professional courses or education for the sakes of gaining trading knowledge? Or did you learn everything you know searching online?
I've played around online trading courses, but I would not consider myself to be a trader as I mostly just read up and have not taken a deliberate step into it as yet.
3. What would you do if you woke up one day and saw your bitcoin balance has risen 10,000%?
Such an increase is very improbable to happen overnight, so I do not really have a reaction for that as it's unlikely to happen.
I wish you luck on your trading journey and you're right to seek knowledge first before aiming for profits
Awesome response! What kind of services do you offer on the forum to accumulate your BTC?
Also, very good point in regards to the 10,000% increase question, I should of thought that one through a little more! Thanks for pointing it out, ha ha!
Welcome @Iwant2brich, you seem to be most interested in trading, so I'll like to direct you to the
trading discussion section where you can lurk more often and discuss as well as exchange signals with other traders. Having said that, I would also like to address your username, if that's exactly what you want to be via Bitcoin, you'll have to obliterate that mindset, or else you'll prolly grow frustrated and would likely get scammed sooner rather than later, don't get me wrong, you can get rich via Bitcoin, but it's not a get rich quick/fast scheme, you'll need efforts, skills, offer a service of some sorts etc, don't be moved by the misconception that you must get rich via Bitcoin, that's wrong.
2.To those that hodl, what were your emotions during massive gains? Did you become nervous and cash out? or did you feel sheer confidence to hodl? Did you have a plan?
You could have a plan and yet still be moved to sell if there is a sudden high appreciation, it takes quite a lot of guts to control your emotions in times like that, the thing is only the hodler knows the best time to sell part or all of their stash, and when you do that, never regret it, no matter what happens with the price afterwards.
Appreciate the support there.. I'm a bit of a chump when it comes to forums.
I'll be sure to give that section some attention.
I recall a similar event to that of your advice ''never regret it, no matter what happens with the price afterwards''.. I gained from a trade and still, right after I took my profits, I wanted to get right back in because it surpassed my expectations and kept going. Instead, I just closed the tab. I learnt to start doing this, because with that ''hook-you-back-in'' emotional bite, and a rookie error with setting my leverage, is pretty much how I lost most of my invested funds. Trial and error is expected, though, to a complete beginner.
Nevertheless, I thank you for taking your time to read and share your advice.
